"well, they aren't wrong to worry. with increase in criminal activity--- anything can happen. but as long as we're aware and make room for the pros, we'll be alright. and of course we are. we can't betray the usual place-- unless there's somewhere else you'd like to go?"

        "thank you, again --- really. i forgot how overwhelming planning these things can be sometimes. ah-- he likes the ones with fruits in them. they're a little pricier, but for his birthday, i can splurge for him. he isn't particularly picky with the fruit."

“Eh? I don’t have any hero name. I don’t know if I wanna be a hero. I just want to make sure no villains come by my Aunt’s place. Protect it from them, you know.. as me, not a hero or whatever.” He wasn’t sure what to think of how enthusiastic this other boy was. Sure he had a lot of energy sometimes, but not like this. “That sucks. Do you just fall asleep if you go overboard?” He crossed his arms. “I mean I guess, if you want to or whatever. It doesn’t matter much to me what you do.”

        "oh, really?" he hadn't run into any kid who had ever said he didn't want to be a hero -- or wasn't sure of it. he wondered why but shrugged it off. it wasn't his business to go prying into matters like that. everyone had their reasons, just like kosuke had his reasons to become a hero -- he wanted to grow up to be someone his dad would have been proud of. "well. . . my mom always says that if you can put your heart into something, then anything is possible. so--- i think you're going to be a great you !" lips parted and then closed with an audible sound, frowning lightly.

        "uh. . . k-kind of?" color rushed to his cheeks, twiddling his thumbs, voice quieter than it had been a moment ago. "sometimes i can make it to the couch or a matt, but if i go waaay overboard, i won't have any time to even move." he cleared his throat, taking a step back away from the other boy, holding out his hand, palm up. brows pulled together as he concentrated on his hand, a soft blue light emitting from the center of his palm before it became a solid sphere. kosuke poked at it, looking over at kouta. "i can do this ! if i want to, i can make it look like anything i want ! the bigger it is, the faster i fall asleep. . . but i can make these around my hands or into a little sword. they don't last too long though."

snoozes peacefully on... zzzz... --

when kosuke had insisted that, after coming back from the park and having tea, they set up a fort in the living room to watch a movie, haruhi didn't think that shouta would stay to help. nor did she think he would join them --- though she appreciated the company of another adult. not twenty minutes had passed before kosuke had curled into her side, fast asleep. she had expected as much with all the running around he had done at the park.

what she hadn't expected was the soft drop of shouta's head against her shoulder. blinking, she canted her head as best as she could to get a glimpse of him and saw that he, too, was fast asleep. she couldn't help the warm smile that tugged at her lips, a hand moving to rest gently against kosuke's head, the other rising up to gently run her fingers through shouta's hair.

well, she was at the very least glad that the movie was still going, seeing as she wouldn't be moving from her spot any time soon. not to worry, though ! though she tried her best to keep her eyes open, she too eventually fell asleep, head resting gingerly atop of shouta's.
