endlessly funny to me that the main dragon age antagonists are an old general, a lady with a big sword, and a mage from ancient times with immense power. and that last is by far the least threatening because fails every step, of every plan, when he is even here and not just name dropped by one of his equally idiot minions. i forgot he existed half the time. during the boss battle i fell before the fight started and in the 30 seconds it took to get to him he was half dead already. anyone else just feels bad for the man at this point

The more I look at Edel’s ending mural the more creeped out I get - while Claude’s and Dimitri’s show reconciliation (as well as helping the poor in Dimi’s case) and Silver Snow’s shows a parade, Edel’s is just. Filled with super uncomfortable imagery.
There’s ominous golden lady in the background

Hubert peeking from behind the corner

A crowd of downtrodden people of various regions including the conquered Kingdom, with a dark mage with a dagger forcing them to kneel

A sword of one of the conquered above and two flags (Church of Seiros and Leicester)

and finally la pièce de la résistance - she’s literally trampling on (a flag of) the Leicester alliance.
Like I have a very hard time reading any of it as a positive ending

Exactly this. I was debating whether or not to get the game because of this issue. In the end the game is nothing like they tried to portray it as. Give it a try yourself, or watch a let’s play (if you don’t want to spend money), before believing them.
Greedfall is a great game rife with poignant messages about the evils of colonialism, the shitty overlooked horrors of Europeans history of abusing and desecrating native cultures, the evils people try to excuse with organized religion, the corrupt military systems of the world that victimize young boys and terrify them into staying quiet, adoptive families being better and more meaningful than blood ties, and the evils of destroying the very earth we live on
It also outright shuts you out from being the 'edgy' and 'evil' colonizer that a lot of people accused the game of pandering to
I will frankly never forgive tumblr 15 year olds for demonizing this frankly amazing game from a smaller studio which was a passion project of their female head developer.
Give greedfall a chance PLEASE it has its problems but it really is nothing like what anyone accused it of being before it's release.

Wow interesting. Kind of like the routes themselves. In blue lions it’s more of a surprise, black eagles there are (obvious) hints throughout. Golden deer is more detached in a way, but makes sense that it’s the know-it-all route because of Claude’s character.
Huh, apparently Dimitri, Edelgard, and Claude’s VAs were given different levels of information before going into the booth: Dimitri was unspoiled on a lot of things, Edelgard was on a need-to-know basis, and Claude was clued in on pretty much everything.
Cool.
