2021 Manifesto | The Pause for The Cause
vimeo
2020, what a year of truth. The entire world was brought to a standstill.
No matter how rich or poor, man or woman we all were affected. We all had to take a pause!
We all had different views of the outcome of that forced pause. As we move forward in 2021 there must be time to reflect on the past and mentality prepare for the great future opportunities that await us.
It was Thanksgiving when I started this journey of reflection; having realized that there were several key areas that we can hold each other accountable to in 2021.
vimeo
The Wake-Up Call
What did I learn from 2020? It taught me that Gratitude, Hope, Faith & Love are major sources for success. How many of your connections are actually a source in your life? To become great and conquer your purpose in life you need sources. Many connections never become sources. What’s even worse is many of the wrong connections become sources.
What is a source? A person, place, or thing from which something comes or can be obtained! Everyone we meet has some value, good or bad, in our lives. The secret to success is discovering the right sources from your connections for your purpose-filled journey.
How do you detect who’s a source? By evaluating our own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats! Then utilizing those evaluating factors to discover the sources that can assist us. We need to study the day-to-day implementation around their own endeavors before making your choice!
Just because someone is always busy or wants the best for their colleagues' business doesn't necessarily make them the right source to implement your dreams. Ask yourself this question, “Who can I trust with implementation to get results and understand the market I am in?”
This year, I challenge you to review the connections you have made in the pandemic & the last decade. Who are your sources for the next level of implementation? Only sources can provide you the resources you need to achieve your goals & theirs.
The Daily Balance
Accountability; the rock, seed, and foundation for success! I do not care how smart we are or how much experience we may have...WE ALL FALL SHORT OF ACCOUNTABILITY! You can not become successful overnight! Lottery winners are rich and not successful!
Success is built from your day-to-day positive habits & routines. Picture this scenario, you have a habit of playing poker with the guys or cocktails with the ladies on Friday between 7-9 pm, but you are starting a business. Are you willing to take away from that guy’s or lady’s night to ensure the success of your business? Will you still have the desire to work on your business when you seem to be missing out on an old habit? Whatever the new goal-oriented habit you have chosen to create it must offer the same reward as the one you are taking away from.
Starting a business does not mean you miss out on all the fun. Make your workflow a game or have a cocktail while reading a company report. In order to master productivity, you must replace old habits & routines with new processes with similar rewards and satisfactions.
What new habits or routines do you want to start in 2021? It is always eye-opening that we all have something on the list from last year, maybe even from several years ago!
What stops us from succeeding? What stops us from accomplishing what is on our list? Why do we lose the focus or drive to complete the change?
The Push for More
I have discovered the power of choice and discipline, how both lead to actions that can result in positive and negative ways no matter how well you plan. 90% of us plan to fail, we forget how important planning is in our lives. The Pandemic or Government did not devastate our financial lifestyle. The failure to innovate over time and prepare for the unexpected caused last year's results in your life and business.
We all must learn from 2020 and other past mistakes to prepare for the future. To be more, we must face the reality of our choices. The more accountable we are for our choices today, the better the outcome will be over time. At the beginning of each year, we all strive to be more but are we persistent in starting and consistently driven to continue to the level we should after we have reached the first?
Before this pandemic, many of us were oblivious as to how ill-prepared we were for an emergency in life. Many of us had to rely on the government to bail us out! A true entrepreneur or pioneer needs no bailout! They are aware of their industry risks & cash flow before the emergency strikes.
It is time to push to be more as an Entrepreneur, Executive, Investor, or Partner in your business. Push yourself to know your industry and the trends inside out! Connect with a Strategist to create your disaster recovery plan today, especially if you are a startup!
The Impact on Others
2020 impacted us all and now in 2021, we have the opportunity to reconnect on levels we missed last year. We all should have learned last year from COVID that we all in this together! As we have all witnessed this is not truly the case here in America. Since the election, we have in many ways become a country divided, but we have always been a divided country since 1619. In spite of how horrible slavery was, I love America. It has always had individuals of all colors who have fought against injustices. These people over the years have transformed America for Americans and paved the way for all immigrants.
As we make our journey through 2021 & beyond let us peacefully continue to fight for equality for all.  We can start by looking in our own backyard! How can we improve the quality of life in our own community? Instead of waiting for the tragic events to react, let us be proactive about poverty, social equality, and mental health issues within our communities.
The Promise of 2021
2021 promises to be as surprising as 2020. I am optimistic for us all that this year we will recover our losses 10 fold. This year and decade I challenge you to review your choices of the last decade! What would you do differently this decade? What will your life look like 10 years from now? What factors over the next 10 years would stop you or push you?
vimeo
As I move forward I am challenging myself and you to live with a defined purpose. Over two decades ago I found my purpose assisting startups & propelling companies to the next level of success. This purpose-driven mindset is one I have reflected on as I move forward to new frontiers in business scaling & professional excellence.
If you can take one thing from this manifesto...you are who you surround yourself with and invest in! So invest wisely in yourself and discover the people in your life who want to elevate your purpose. When you share your purpose with like-minded people, I promise that so many doors will open for you! Remember, connections are based on common interests between both parties. Relationships are built over time, on emotions in which each party will experience highs & lows. I challenge you and myself to find those “beholders of purpose” who drive you towards your endeavors!

Spiritual Path of Life
When it comes to self-help and a spiritual path in life, everyone is different. There is no set of rules that applied to anyone across the board because each person has their set of specific circumstances. Personal self-help means finding out what your particular issues are that are different from other people and then finding a way to fit these issues into a more common form of treatment that is convenient and readily available.
Every alcoholic or drug addict that ever existed enters a treatments center or a twelve-step meeting with the idea that “I am different from these people,” and every one of them is correct to some degree. Regardless of this truth, however, the exact solutions often work for many different people. Even though your specific problems may be different, they can still be applied similarly to a solution that works. Personal self-help does take into account the differences that each person has. Yet, it also takes those differences and helps to bring out the similarities that countless other individuals have felt the same way. For example, it doesn’t matter how many different drinks or drugs you have ever taken. As an addict and alcoholic, it’s imperative you get away from all drugs and alcohol and get away from the people with who you previously used to drink or take drugs.
Personal self-help can also consider your differences in terms of how your spiritual path can progress once you have first accepted the fact that you aren’t entirely different from anyone else.
For example, you may follow a path that believes in a specific religion or a particular spiritual practice because of your preferences, but this will only come after you have had the humility to admit that your problems aren’t as unique as you would like to think.
Some people pursue yogic practices or learn how to perform seated meditation. Others prefer to take up a career or start a business to fulfill their highest potential. Others besides these may throw themselves into their religion as a way of finding new meaning in their lives. It doesn’t matter which path you pursue once you recognize that essential health comes first by following certain principles of self-help that are true for everyone.
One of the most fundamental values throughout all spiritual practices or any endeavor that aims at success is that you cannot be a self-centered person and be successful. Even the most self-centered people who have struck it rich on television or movies have eventually found that they weren’t truly happy without a meaningful relationship with other people in their lives.
Self-centeredness breeds unhappiness, and it is paramount, when you are first starting on your self-help journey, to learn how to get outside of yourself and open yourself up to the lives of others in some way, shape, or form.
The basic principles of self-help were first laid out by Dr. Sigmund Freud years ago. He recognized that the ego is at the center of all of our problems, and raising our consciousness is part and parcel of discovering a more healthy lifestyle. Dr. Freud and others who came after him, such as Dr. Carl Jung and Dr. David R. Hawkins, have paved the way for a brighter tomorrow. They have shown us what our path to self-help can look like if we genuinely dedicate ourselves to healing ourselves and finding a better life. Personal self-help is something that everyone can now benefit from and something that you should take advantage of yourself before it is too late.

What's The Cost Of Being Right?
One of the highest prices we pay in life is the cost of being right. Some of us will sacrifice almost anything just to be the last one standing. A person whom their peers had surrounded now sits alone, safe in the knowledge that they are right in their viewpoint even though they have alienated everyone around them. The ego is a mighty powerful entity left unchecked.
It’s their way or no way at all. They simply cannot understand the concept of another person’s point of view. Children go through a stage where they are incredibly self-absorbed. Everything is ‘mine,’ and they will not share. The world revolves around their desires and needs. This is a normal stage of childhood where the child is asserting their individuality and independence. The problem arises when the behavior is carried over into adulthood.
People who need to be right have little patience for others. They perceive their ideas as the right way to do things and their viewpoints as the right way to think. A differing opinion directly affronts their sense of well-being, and they become highly aggressive in their defense of themselves. They tend to alienate others due to their insistence on being ‘right’. The importance of the issue in question doesn’t seem to have any relevance. A simple trip to the store can end in disaster. Anger and a lack of empathy seem to be a rule of thumb.
We each have a unique set of DNA that will never be replicated short of cloning. I do not think the same as you do and vice-versa. Our brains are wired differently; what seems natural and easy for me to do may be close to impossible for you. Frequently we get caught in the thought pattern, ” If I can see this so clearly, why in the world can’t you?” “If I can perform this task, why can’t you?” But the reality is that just because I can do something does not mean that you can. Nor does it make me better or right. Just different.
What is right and wrong? I bake a cake a certain way, and I determine it is the ‘right way to bake a cake. Yet my next-door neighbor uses an entirely different method, and guess what? Her cake is just as good. Short of a cake being inedible, there is no right or wrong, just other baking methods. Some ways may be more efficient, authentic. But not necessarily the only way of doing it.
Webster’s dictionary states the following as a definition of the word right: conforming to facts or truth; most favorable or desired. Can someone’s opinion or idea be correct because it conforms to the validity or a reality? By the way, whose truth? Or better yet, two viewpoints can each work to the truth, so which one is more right? Can someone’s stand on a subject be the most favorable or desired? That is highly relative, and I think that is the point. It’s all relative.
Having to the right seems to be more akin to the definition of self-righteous, which Webster defines as convinced of one’s righteousness (being right), especially in contrast with the actions and beliefs of others: narrow-mindedly moralistic. Aha! Now we are getting closer. Someone who needs to be correct would seem self-righteous, I.E., someone who feels that their way of seeing and doing things is superior to that of others.
This brings to mind the religious zealots who believe that their way of worshiping God is the only true way and that anyone who does not hold to their dogma is a non-believer and an infidel. Thus, they have the deep need to convert the non-believer, believing that you will be condemned to hell unless you hold to my way of thinking. Therefore, my believing something different is considered a threat. This of course, is an extreme case, but it reveals the nature of being right.
What also pops up for me on being right is what often happens in a divorce. We all have stories of an acrimonious divorce where two people spend insane amounts of money to argue about trivialities to get even and be in the right. The antagonists will pay their lawyers thousands of dollars in a fight over a living room chair just for the sake of besting the other person. Once again, it shows the price people are willing to pay in support of their ego.
Why does the intense need to be right? Myriad reasons come to mind: self-esteem issues, low self-confidence, the past running the present, remnants of childhood adaptations, ego-centric behavior…the list goes on and on. I believe that it isn’t so much the reasons (although it is essential to understand why we do certain things) behind why we need to be correct rather than the self-knowledge that we are involved in this kind of self-destructive behavior. We must first become aware of our need to be correct and then examine the costs involved in our behavior.
What are the costs of being right? First, we come across as a know-it-all, which alienates people. We are unyielding and do not work well with others, so we have a tendency not to be part of the team or community. We isolate ourselves. We turn away connectedness and love. We become an island unto ourselves. Most impactful is that we close ourselves off to what the world has to offer because we know best.
“…people find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right.”
J. K. Rowling, Harry Potter, and The Half-Blood Prince
We will never recognize where our next opportunity lies if we do not remain open to possibilities. To stay receptive to what the world offers, we must keep an open mind and heart. We must learn to listen to what others have to say. We must be aware and conscious of what is being offered to us at any given moment. We must realize that there is much to gain from listening and not speaking. If I am too busy pushing my agenda, I cannot possibly hear what is being said, and therefore I may miss out on what could be an opportunity to experience deep learning and personal growth.
Looking at the big picture versus the immediate helps put things in perspective. For example, if I don’t get my way, is it a matter of life and death? Will I even remember this incident ten years from now? Some things are not worth the effort, and being right all the time fits into that category.
Think of what it is like to be heard? How do you regard someone who takes a sincere interest in you and what you have to say? Those people who hold a genuine curiosity about others are magnets. We are attracted to them because they make us feel good about ourselves. They, in turn, are rewarded with deeper friendships, better working relationships, more meaningful and loving personal relationships, and a universe that continually opens with more possibilities.
Start by simply noticing if you are overly invested in being right when you discuss with others, be it at work, at home, or wherever. Just notice how you are being and perhaps, why? In the noticing, you will become very aware of how you interact with others. Imagine being in their shoes and seeing through their eyes. What do you look like from their viewpoint? Is it a picture you like? If not, how could you do things differently?
As you notice and do things differently, you may start to see dramatic changes. Or the changes may be subtler. As you do things differently, people will begin to react differently. Your world will open up. You will start feeling more connected. You will learn new things that had remained closed off to you before. New possibilities for a life that is more meaningful and fulfilling will appear.
Being righteous and being self-righteous are at the opposite ends of the spectrum. It’s the difference between people who are full of themselves versus people who do the right thing. Whom do you choose? How do you want to be perceived? A life well-lived is a life where being right is not the be-all-end-all. The be-all-end-all is a life well-lived. Luckily, as human beings, we were given free will and the ability to choose for ourselves. It all comes down to choice.

Building A Self-Improvement Course
When most people think of Self Improvement Courses, what comes to mind is usually basic information that’s not particularly interesting or beneficial. But there’s a lot more to Self Improvement Courses than just the basics.
Look for the course that offers the right self improvement plan to serve you and the support systems to help you change. The self improvement course should teach you how to outline what you want, how to set up a realistic plan to achieve your goals and how to train your mind to work with your subconscious so that you get results.
Always opt for the self improvement course that suits you and interests you. Grab one or two programs so you always have the right tools for the right challenge in life. Basically, the self improvement course educates you on how to unlearn negative attitudes and prejudice that society places on you, and helps you to be able to pursue your dreams and goals without fear or embarrassment. The course intends to help you regain control of your life and health. With the self improvement course, you can be what you want to be, notwithstanding what you are and you have been.
Go for a self improvement course that offers you the following:
The program content – Must be able to help you improve your mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional awareness.
Powerful tools and exercises – To draw out your inner wisdom.
If you base what you do on inaccurate information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences. Make sure you get the whole Self Improvement Courses story from informed sources.
Fundamental skills – Must be able to put together a firm foundation for your life with goals, time management, and inspiration. All this would bring more control and focus into your life.
Personal development awareness programs – Must make you understand yourself and how life goes on. It should be able to put together your self-esteem, inner power, discipline, and self worth with the personal development awareness programs.
Open to a superior control – Must be able to find more significance, rationale and joy in life.
24×7 email support – Must provide 24×7 email or online support to keep you disciplined, focused, and motivated.
Convincing – Must convince you that increasing your self-awareness can change your life and that you can accomplish it with the course..
""Self improvement course educates you on how to unlearn negative attitudes and prejudice that society places on you, and helps you to be able to pursue your dreams and goals without fear or embarrassment.""  -- Shawn Ryan Randleman
Apart from the above, the self improvement course must be able to improve your total personality. That includes spoken skills, i.e., communication skills, presentation, manners, dress sense, etc., so that you could feel better and accomplish your goals.
The self improvement course, in the end, would eliminate pressure from your life and replace it with self-confidence, improve your self-esteem, eliminate a negative approach towards family and friends and substitute them with feelings of love. This can make you a more complete human being.
Is there really any information about Self Improvement Courses that is nonessential? We all see things from different angles, so something relatively insignificant to one may be crucial to another.

Time For A Successful Life
The application of time management skills has tended to be thought of as something for business life only. In reality, though, time management is something from which we can all benefit in our personal lives and in the art of marrying our working lives with our home and social lives.
Those benefits show in several ways, including health, well-being, and satisfaction with our lives overall. Manage your time well, and you can feel in control of your life, rather than letting events control you. Unfortunately, there is no single “method” of time management, either in business or personal life. However, there are various time management tips and techniques, practices, and theories worth knowing about.
"We all practice time management whether we know it or not."
Acquiring time management skills is something we can set about doing methodically. We all practice time management whether we know it or not. It is more a matter of whether we do it well or badly. The following tips are for improving time management skills, building on those that you will naturally have. Even primitive men used time management; it was just a lot simpler in those days. Time had to be allocated for hunting, and that time had to be used to the fullest effect possible to survive.
Here are just a few time management tips:
1. Before learning any techniques to help you manage your time, have a clear idea of what you are setting out to achieve. Then, allow yourself to get your life in some order so that you can both enjoy it to the full and succeed to the full. If you apply time management to areas of your life that do not matter to you, you will not be progressing personally.
2. Get your priorities clear in your mind so that they are a natural part of you. This will need to become a habit to be very effective, and you will need to apply prioritizing over several time spans. Your long-term success will probably depend on your prioritizing what you need to do to achieve that success.
However, to use your time well on a particular day, you need to start the day with a clear idea of your priorities. That also applies to the week, the month, and the year. Your priorities for the shorter period must feed positively into the priorities in the following more extended period, and so on so that each time is mapped out with priorities that lead to your ultimate success.
3. When assessing priorities, be ruthless with parts of your life that are not contributing to your longer-term goals. Removing the areas of your life where you are wasting time will free up more time to reach your goals.
4. Always be sure to build your health and enjoyment into any plans. Time for relaxation and exercise are critical to your long-term achievements; always make time for proper meals, and keep to a healthy but enjoyable diet. Time management is not an exercise in being macho with your business life; it is an opportunity to build a balanced life for yourself and your family.
5. Once you have set your priorities for any period, write them down and refer to them from time to time, updating them if necessary. Should you appear to be failing, examine why, and reset and reinforce your goals and priorities. It is too easy to slip back into bad habits that inhibit your progress.
6. Be sure to keep a diary and use it to plan out each day, week, month. There are all sorts of electronic gizmos, online planners, apps, etc to act as aids to your time management. However, I think a good old-fashioned journal is just as good, if not better. About 48 months ago, I reverted to using a traditional journal to plan my working time. It forces me to get away for a few minutes and think about my priorities and what I need to be reminded about.
If you can become better at time management, you will find your life more satisfying and less stressful and achieve more extraordinary things. Life sweeps them along in a torrent of activity or inactivity, over which they have little or no control for millions of people. That can be very stressful, unhealthy, inefficient, and demoralizing over the long term. There is nothing quite like controlling your destiny to reduce stress and aid success.
