PSA: When is it okay to criticise the work of a fanart artist/author?

If they have asked for it

or

If you have paid them for the work

or

If you are friends and shittalking is your love language

In all other circumstances, unsolicited criticism is simply intrusive, useless and downright rude.

If you don't like an artist's work - just move on! There are so many fan artists/authors on the internet, there's bound to be someone who meets your taste. Or even better: create something yourself. It's fun, a great way to compensate for stress (unless of course you get unsolicited quality opinions imposed on you) and costs nothing!

Currently making a rp blog for my OCS, it would take time since I don't feel well mentally when writing some simple bio sheet for my OCS, drawing their potrait, making rules, writing a story,and many more. It's a stressful day for me since I have to take multiple breaks so i can have a strength to continue and recharge my creative outlet, this blog I was working would be the first time I step out of my comfort zone since I never tried writing my own roleplay content with original characters before due to my sheer anxiety with my own work didn't receive well. For now I need some sleeps... it's killing me inside.
