Every once in a while a trans friend group will have a token cis straight guy. Those dudes are almost always extremely cool, compassionate people who have something profoundly wrong with them.

You should be held accountable for other people's crimes.
That doesn't mean you should be jailed for it. That doesn't mean your rights should be taken away. It means you have a responsibility to not continue their patterns.

i think that unless you have experienced life while being actually dead broke or near it at least once, its hard to really grasp at how, in many places but in america in particular, ‘having money’ is the access card that allows you to participate, materially, in being fully human. even in non-crisis situations, situations where a paycheck is on the way, you have enough of some kind of food to make it, and you aren’t in any danger of losing shelter, even if you hardly spend any money when you do have it, the state of being completely without money is a state of  being hyperaware, constantly, of how much smaller your world is all of a sudden and how many basic aspects of mobility and enrichment are off limits to you. its profoundly psychologically agitating to self worth and well-being even sans the trauma of worse states of deprivation, and i don’t think a lot of people who have lived comfortably without this experience understand that there’s a critical difference between ‘having less money’ and ‘having no money’ when talking about related issues.

Transmasc Memorial Entry 19:

Corbin Ray Bach, 23, d. 6th October 2019
Corbin took his own life in Kentucky, USA as a result of relentless bullying, according to his wife, Amber. She mentioned that the bullying “played a big part in why I no longer have my husband”. Corbin was a US Army medic and a Corrections Officer in the state of Kentucky.
Corbin’s death as a result of bullying really lays bare that the claim that ‘trans men are accepted into cis men dominant jobs and spaces with ease and are therefore privileged’ is in fact, very much untrue. Corbin had two very cis man dominant jobs, being in the US Army and working as a Corrections Officer of prisons in Kentucky. However, the claim that trans men will be instantly accepted into such environments is untrue, as the bullying Corbin faced would have almost certainly been from his day to day life at his jobs- as a Corrections Officer in civilian life, and as an Army medic in military life. It is likely that much of the bullying was in fact from his colleagues, of which are likely to have been cis men.
Corbin should still be here with us today, but the fact remains that violence from cis men against trans men is ignored very much in our society. To preserve the lie that trans men are not in danger, it’s deadly. And we shouldn’t have to wait until more people like Corbin die before people take notice that trans men face transandrophobia and transphobia in our lives.
May he rest peacefully.
