I do agree with quite a bit of the criticism but I just wish the love and hate was more balanced!

Im not the biggest fan of how snw handles Vulcans cause I love Vulcans! And all the newly-vulcans were asses. I didn't even realize that "this is how spock perceives Vulcans" which, yeah makes sense, but it felt like a cheap excuse

BUT we had Spock getting bullied(he joined Starfleet to avoid this exactly), great Pelia moments (as always), La'an being malicious (good for her), Beto so smittened with Uhura that he let her brain wash him (understandable), Batel snapping at Pike and that Vulcan guy (so proud of her), Scotty with his half-assed plan (real), and dance fighting solves our problems!

Edit: And Doug! Can't believe I forgot Doug! 10/10 loved him and Una

Idk why people are hate watching Strange New Worlds? They rip apart every episode, i can't follow the tag bc it's filled with so much hate.

Even a lot of the positive posts start with "i know everyone hated this but i didn't" bc that's the general vibe of the fandom. When did fandom go from being critical to just outward vent posting so hard that you almost feel bad if you liked something?

This is a fun prequel show. I'm *personally* so sick of trek becoming like ultra serious and about war, death, religion, space racism and holocausts. You guys remember how campy and kinda of awful tos was right? This is trying to lead up to that. Like, enjoy it for what it is, a fun show that's 10 episodes a season for some streaming reason and isn't going to go that deep.

Let us have young spock, all his girlfriends, a weird captain and his strange girlfriend, dino gorn in spacesuits and a super lesbian-coded cocky pilot. You want serious trek about themes? Watch a different show

Everyone always headcanons Garak knew about the augmentations before the reveal. I headcanon he didn't even know after. He's not in the episode because he was off-station getting some fabric for a commission and everyone was so traumatized by the ordeal noone thought to tell him once he came back. Odo doesn't talk shit about people like that and Julian assumes Garak knows. Two years later someone makes a reference to it and Garak goes WHAT
