Important thing just popped up for fic writers and artists

Hello everyone! I'm writing this because I've locked my fics on AO3, due to a GenAI scrap of AO3. Most of my works are sadly affected, and have thus gotten stolen, except for like the newest two. @morriganfey has locked hers down too, and some others may too in the future.

If you want to read my works, whether new ones or old ones, you should get an AO3 account! I promise it makes things much easier!

If you're a writer on AO3, you might want to take a look at this Reddit post, see if any of your works are affected

This is a problem regardless of fandom or anything. If your fics weren't locked down already, and they fall between a certain number of ids, then it got stolen.

Now I've tagged this with mostly my own fics and the fandoms I've been posting fics in, but I've also tagged some Anti-AI tags and some tags relating to AO3, so hopefully a couple more people will see it too.

It'd be great if people could reblog this. Because regardless of fandom, this is a problem for everyone, both for artists and for writers

Anybody else thinking about how Eclipse has been conditioned by Puppet that friends will ignore his boundaries and do "what's best for him" and now he'll keep setting boundaries but the others won't break them and he'll feel like they don't care about him or am I just projecting

THE NBS PROGRAM |•| CHAPTER 1: AN IDEA

Moon entered parts and service. He'd locked Ruin in here. He had had a miracle idea - if Ruin could bring back Eclipse, perhaps he could bring back Solar.

"Ruin?" the animatronic nodded, still looking away, "How did you bring back Eclipse?" the other giggled, pointed at himself, "I modified one of Solar's backups" he finally turned to face Moon.

A small smile formed at Moon's mouth. Then, Moon just left.

Ruin tensed once the lunar animatronic left. Moon was far too relaxed compared to his earlier rage. The calm before the storm. He could only hope he wouldn't regret this.

....

Moon had heard Eclipse and Puppet were growing close, so he knocked on Monty's door. Hopeful Monty would know where she was; Puppet opened the door.

"Oh! Hey Moon, what brings you here?"

A hand went to his neck as he sighed. "Well, I finally calmed down.. And asked Ruin some questions. I think.. well, he said that to revive Eclipse he used Solar's code. I was thinking, maybe I could use a backup of Eclipse to revive him?"

She seemed slightly tense. "Ah, well.. Come inside. Let me get you some water before you two talk."

He waited in the living room until she came back, she still looked tense. "You two are close, right?"

She nodded, "Yeah we are. Uh.. He's working over in the basement. You should find him if you go that way."

Moon nodded and sighed, as soon he came down there an annoyed voice greeted him.

"I already told you, Puppet, I don't wanna talk right now. Just leave me be."

Moon reached out towards the Solar animatronic, then pulled out his cables to make him unconscious.

He just needed a piece of code. Everything would be fine.

...

Ruin kept staring at the closed door. It was getting so boring to stay inside these four walls. He quietly sat down and sighed, opened his wrist to start tinkering with it. He wouldn't escape, that would take away any reason for Moon to trust him.

He heard a soft "swoop", and felt a light breeze for a moment, then footsteps. He turned around to see a version of Sun that wore a black vest and a red sweater.

Sun pulled his hand, closed his wrist and pulled him into the portal, which closed behind them.

He remembers being plugged into a computer, he remembers the feeling of his code being altered while he was still powered on.

It was a disgusting feeling, like hands were toying with your brain. He wouldn't recommend it, not really. Perhaps it was because Sun viewed him as a Moon that he acted so sadistic?

Or perhap whatever god existed out there wanted this to happen regardless of how unusual it was.

That was what he thought until he stumbled upon a work in progress, to rebuild Sun's Moon.

Oh, oh.

Is it anger? Pure anger at killing his brother? He had thought it mercy then. He approached the lunar model.

"Stop, Ruin." ah. that.. pesky voice. Being forced to listen to it's every command was far from pleasant, he could say that much.

He was frozen hearing footsteps until a hand touched his shoulder. "Turn."

"Ruin, what exactly were you planning to do, there?" he took a deep breath. "I assumed you're mad at me for getting rid of Moon. So I was planning to reprogram him. Perhaps supply him with a new body. And then hope you'd let me go."

Sun's hand lazily played with his wires for a moment before smiling. "Very well. Four days. I may change the terms afterwards."

"Fo- four-" "That's roughly how long it took you to rebuild Eclipse, no?"

Ruin reluctantly accepted, Sun left, allowing him to work on Moon.

Neptor helped him design the body, the kid enjoyed drawing how he would like his uncle Moon to look.

Sun made his own adjustments to the design aswell. And he decided nanomachines should be used for Moon.

At the end of the fourth day, Sun came by the lab.

"Seems you failed to meet your deadline.. "Ruru", that's what the kid has been calling you, right?" Ruin gritted his teeth, Sun smirked. and played with his cables some. "Hurry, Uncle Ru"

"Five hours. Give me five hours.", Sun perked an eyebrow before smiling. "Very well."

Ruin scanned through his memory banks, he was made to memorize anything he came in contact with and how it was built. He looked for the chip. He'd held it. Examined it. Memorized it. Before crushing it.

It took 3 hours to recreate simply because of the little details he'd skimmed over because he didn't think he'd ever need to recreate that Moon.

The last two hours were spent uploading Moon's consciousness into the "body", if it could be called such. With the recreated memories and everything, his memory bank was quite heavy and took a while to process.

Ten minutes before Sun came back, it finished. He turned on exactly as Sun walked in.

Neptor ran over to his father excited, Sun picked him up and gave him a spin before going over to Ruin and handing him a noise button, "I've got family to attend to. Just go over to that hallway and listen to this. You're tech savy enough to go from there."

"All current orders nullified."

...

Moon typed at they keyboard. Every time he tried to delete Eclipse's memories from the backup and tried to boot up Solar, the program crashed. He had already gone through 8 copies with no success.

He got an email from Lunar.

"Hey Moon, Sun said you're working on Solar, so uh... Here are my memories of him

👍🏼 so you can like, erm.. y'know upload those into him and erm. he can remember the interactions between me and him."

Of course- How hadn't he thought of that? He texted Monty and Sun and Earth. They agreed, some after he swore he wouldn't see them himself.

The program still crashed, however his motivation was renewed, he'd find a way. And if he had to keep Eclipse's memories, so be it.

Solar would understand. He would understand having memories that weren't his because otherwise the program would crash.

But hopefully it didn't come to that.

based on a headcanon where due to the double dose of Agony he received, Eclipse feels some pain that hinders his ability to walk. Some days are fine, some days he needs to use it. But he adamantly refuses to use it around the others to avoid "looking weak".
