gosh okay. i’m still having a pinch me moment over this. i’ve spent about a year and a half on tumblr and reaching 5000 is just… crazy to me. like, imagining that many people in a room is horrifying. i know it’s just a value at the end of the day, but in all honesty, i’m a little scared of the number. scared but so so grateful. i will never be anything but grateful for the attention and love this story has received. truly.

8. Bad memories/experiencesHis elementary school years weren’t that good. He’s always been shy, but at the time, his shyness was so oppresive and so hard to deal with that he couldn’t make any friends (even though he always tried to be nice and easy-going). And being the nerd he is still is, you can imagine that the bullies just didn’t stop coming. Thankfully, at high school things got a bit better, since he started taking music and martial arts classes (at least now he could fight the bullies lmao).Also, the whole kidnapped-and-being-made-a-lab-rat thing left him pretty shaken.

10. Fears/phobiasNot exactly a phobia, but he doesn’t like heights very much.

15. What it takes to make them cry?Honestly, not very much, as much as he hates to admit it. But the worst thing that could ~trigger~ him would be if something serious happened with his family/friends/SOs… depending of what exactly happend and whether he could’ve had some control over it or not, the result would be a mix of badly repressed anger and extreme sadness that would not be very healthy for him. The thing is, whether he’s crying because he’s happy or because he’s sad, he can’t hold back the tears for very long :’) (and he’s an ugly crier, poor bb)

Hiie :3 5. Guilty pleasuresHe likes to watch silly animations or very bad movies when he’s alone, and he gets too invested in them for his own good haha. He also gets secretly happy whenever Bobby fails at anything.

20. What-ifs/ Alternate TimelinesIf he weren’t a detective, he would definetely be a teacher… probably a high school teacher. He’s just very patient when it comes to teach (even with teenagers! he’s a natural born dad!) and it’s a thing he really enjoys doing :3

5. Guilty pleasuresDnD verse: Sometimes, when they return from a mission late at night and there’s a clear sky, they like to find a sturdy roof to lie back on and watch the stars. They never dare linger long, but they treasure these small moments.

Wayhaven verse: They don’t really have guilty pleasures in the sense that they’re ashamed of them or try to hide them, they’re pretty open and secure in their interests. They like to bake, and take long walks with Kaylie to somewhere it’s just the two of them. They also have an old motorbike they’re slowly fixing up, though that’s an ongoing project.

11. Bad or petty habitsThis is more intense in any verse where they’ve been trained by Temperance, but even in Wayhaven verse they can be quite manipulative. They’re an excellent liar, so it’s fairly easy for them to talk people around to their point of view. Sometimes they’ll get an idea in their head about what’s best for someone and they can go too far in making that happen. This is something they really don’t like about themself (it reminds them far too much of Temperance), but they’re still learning how to recognise it when they get caught up in that thought spiral.

13. What gets them flusteredThey are very hard to truly fluster. Genuine affection or overt flirting can do it, but it’s not a guaranteed success by any means.

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelinesso many. As branches of their usual setting there’s the AU where Temperance takes in Lytte as well, the AU where Val and Chal run away together (*chanting* dad!chal dad!chal dad!chal), our AU where Temperance takes in Tahir, there’s the tattoo artist/florist au I did with people from quotev where Val worked as a tattoo artist, there’s the college AU (both versions)… 

Hell, the Wayhaven version of them is technically also an AU. Point is, there’s a lot, and there’s probably still a bunch I’m forgetting. Oh! There’s the verse I have with @fahrynn where Val and her Nerissa end up together and it’s adorable as hell (go ask her about nerissa y’all, she’s an adorable dorky loser and i love her)

Keiji5. Guilty pleasuresCheesy romance novels. He says he reads them for The Irony™. He does not.

22. People who’ve influenced them greatlyRin, undoubtedly. Their history varies a little depending on verse, but they are always childhood friends and pretty much siblings by all but blood. They were each other’s only real emotional connection growing up, so what (very) few emotional skills he has he learned with her. She also taught him some much more fun things like picking locks, though, and they got into a lot of shenanigans together~

Tanwen3. Scars or painful spotsBoring answer I’m afraid, but she doesn’t have any significant scars from her backstory. Barely any scars at all, really, other than a couple scrapes on her knees and arms from when she’d run around the forest as a kid with her little sister in tow. As for scars she gets later, however:

Wayhaven verse: She gets bitten on the neck by Murphy (she just freezes entirely when he comes at her) during that confrontation, so she is left with a nice scar. She.. starts wearing more scarves, after that.

DnD verse: ….so many. There’s that time she near lost her hand because she decided it’d be a great idea to hand-feed a monster that’s 90% mouth (he was just hungry!), there’s the Zuggtmoy fight where they got their ass kicked, there’s any number of other fights they’ve been in. She really doesn’t like them, they make her look dangerous and they just remind her of everyone she’s had to hurt and all the mistakes she’s made.

10. Fears/phobiasNeedles. She’s terrified of them. In DnD verse she’s managed to train herself into being able to stitch up other people, but anyone putting needles near her is still something of an issue. In Wayhaven verse, this is one of the reasons why she became a cop rather than a doctor.

Jay11. Bad or petty habitslazy. Likes keeping busy but also likes taking naps anytime he can (he can also fall asleep… basically anywhere at any time, so finding him napping in odd places is not uncommon).

3. Scars or painful spotsemotional or physical scars. Emotionally speaking, he is roughly one gaping wound dressed up in a nice layer of sass and sarcasm. Physically speaking, hm.

Wayhaven verse: He has a scar along the palm of his hand, a leftover from his rebellious past. He and Rin broke into an abandoned factory for shits and giggles one day and had a grand old time exploring, until on the way out Keiji got careless climbing the barbed wire fence and tore open his hand. Rather than go to the ER like a sensible person, they decided that Rin could definitely stitch that up herself. Somehow it didn’t actually get infected, but it’s still a pretty distinctive scar.

DnD verse: He has quite a few scars, though most often visible are the thin, silvery lines scattered across his forearms, all leftovers from mistimed blocks and deflections. (this is why people wear armour, keiji)

Once in a relationship, gentle forehead kisses will definitely leave him flustered (use with caution). Corner of the mouth also. 0 flustering about actual kisses, but a kiss on the corner of his mouth would catch him by surprise

Both for the adrenaline rush of getting into fights (especially stupid risky ones) and because getting hurt/being injured is one of his main terrible coping mechanisms. Sex, for another, because it’s just another kind of fight yet also a way to help deal with how fucking touch-starved he is (not that he’d call it that)

Then, of course, there’s the romance novels he pretends to read ironically but also knows damn near by heart

Okay, tiefling Tahir then~!

1.Their physical weak spots

Cold? Tahir absolutely hates the cold and will complain about it and steal all the blankets. His tail is also not nearly as strong as he’d like it to be (getting to use 3 swords at the same time would be fantastic!) but the scales help add some resistance.

3.Scars or painful spots

Since you answered emotionally and physically for Keiji I’ll just copy you and do the same?

Emotionally;

Tahir is largely avoidant of his own issues, but the one thing he hasn’t managed to ignore is not much he craves closeness due to the way he was raised.

Physically;

Most of the injuries that would have caused scaring happened in his childhood and teen years, and back then those got healed up pretty quick so he only has few scars. Mostly recent ones obtained while working as a guard/adventurer.

He does have one particularly noticeable scar on his right leg from a compound fracture from when he was a kid that got him stuck in bed for a while.  The people with access to healing spells were busy at the time and only managed to take care of it at a later date. It healed fine, thankfully! but it left a visible mark.

4.Best places to kiss on their body

Lips is his favourite~! Tahir likes touching as much as he likes being touched and this way he can return the kiss~. But any place that is intimate or is representative of closeness will absolutely make him melt. On the inside of his wrists, neck, forehead kisses (particularly on the base of his horns), inner thigh kisses.

10.Fears/phobias

Losing control. Not only of losing control of himself but of having control taken from him. Being in a position where he can’t fight back will freak him out (unless he trusts the person causing tremendously and even then..) and something as simple as doing a task that he was supposed to do without warning him might manage to leave a bad taste in his mouth.

14.Ingrained habits/forces of habit

He will curl his tail around things (and people), semi-consciously, whenever he’s stopped for a time. And... that’s pretty much all I got...

17.Regrets

None? I mean, none that he realises are regrets? Okay, wait.

Tahir’s regrets are based on things he’d done while being trained, so largely related to his mother, which means he hasn’t really dealt with or even rationalised them. They’re just. Things that happened and that’s it, just an echo in his mind.

When he does manage to finally face the way he was raised and what happened during that time they’ll likely become actual regrets because he hurt people that didn’t deserve it, not all good people but that didn’t deserve it none the less.

When that happens he’ll also regret how he can’t seem to detach himself from her.

Jolene is not the best in combat, but she has learned to use her environment to her advantage. But her weakest spots are her left shoulder, she injured it in training in her early days working for the force, and her eyes are very weak so if she loses her glasses shes blind as a bat.

She tries not to hold grudges because she knows it won't do her any good to hold onto the past. She still has a problem with Bobby every now and again, because he knows how to easily get under her skin.

That she sleeps with a nightlight! Its bad enough that she has trouble seeing at all without her glasses but the dark makes it ten times worse so she has nightlights around her apartment to keep her from tripping over her vintage furniture.
