Do me a favour and reblog this with a show you like that was cancelled after only one season. I don't mean shows that were always meant to be miniseries or shows that work perfectly well as a standalone story, or shows that might still get renewed. I mean shows that are and will forever remain unfinished. The more obscure the better.

Harding Week Day 4 - Kinship/Ancestors
I've always wanted to do a story about Harding sharing her powers with my dwarf Rook, since her not doing that was one of my only gripes about the romance. Today's @datvcompanionweeks theme seemed like the perfect opportunity for that!
Also, this one might be a bit rough. I wanted to post this day of and literally just finished writing it😅
————————————
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Lace said.
She and Runa were seated atop a large stone that sat on a hill near their cottage, face to face and close enough that their knees nearly touched. Lace’s expression was serious, her eyes full of concern. Runa nodded.
“Of course,” she said. “I trust you.”
Runa knew she should have brought this up sooner. Ever since that moment atop Isana Negat with Stalgard and Durra, Runa had turned it over and over in her mind. Why had Lace shared Isatunoll with them, and not with Runa? She was a dwarf too, after all. And every time Runa saw Lace share the eternal song with other dwarves they met, the urgency of the question only grew. Why not her?
Finally, months later and leagues away, Runa screwed up the courage to ask. She’d been watching Lace ready herself for bed in the small room they shared, and when the question was raised Lace paused in the middle of braiding her hair. Quietly, she came and sat down on the bed, facing Runa.
“I… was afraid,” she said slowly. “After what happened when I was still figuring out my powers, when we couldn’t touch… I thought, what if I hurt you, somehow?”
Lace stared down at her knees, hands clasped. “Or… what if you saw me differently? You’re one of the only dwarves I know now who doesn’t look at me like I’m some kind of prophet. What if I stopped being just Lace to you?”
Lace looked up, eyes wide. “I’m sorry. It was selfish of me to keep it from you.”
Runa shook her head, reaching for Lace’s hands and bringing them close to her heart.
“Selfish is the last word I’d use to describe you,” Runa said, leaning closer and looking at her intently. “That’s all totally understandable. If you don’t want to share it, you don’t have to.”
“No, I should,” Lace said. She squeezed Runa’s hands. “This is your birthright, too.”
So it was that they found themselves seated together on the hill. It was early evening, and the sun was just beginning to sink below the horizon, bathing them both in golden, pinkish light.
Lace put out her hands. “Okay, ready?” she said.
Runa smiled and took her hands.
“I thought you didn’t have to touch the other person to make this work,” Runa said teasingly.
“Don’t have to doesn’t mean don’t want to,” Lace said, with a smile of her own.
She squeezed Runa’s hands and closed her eyes, though not before Runa saw them glow faintly blue. Runa closed her eyes as well, focusing on the warmth of Lace’s skin.
“Hear the song of the stone,” Lace intoned, “child of Titans.”
Runa felt a rush of something soothing, cool, and a little prickly flow into her. Not just from Lace’s skin, but from the stone they sat on.
It was both like and unlike the times Lace accidentally infused her with Lyrium. That had been like touching something so cold it burned, mixed with the dizziness that came from standing up too quickly. This was like floating on her back on the surface of the lake near their cottage (Lace had taught her to float, though swimming was still a long way off), but like the water stretched out so far in either direction she couldn’t see the end of it.
And then there was the song, echoing so loud and beautiful all around her that she could think of nothing else (though, later, she would not quite be able to recall it). It was like she was the song, like her self was dissolving into the water all around. But it wasn’t frightening. It was wholeness. It was belonging.
Then the sensations and the song receded, and she was just Runa, and Lace was just Lace, sitting in front of her and holding her hands.
“Are you all right?” Lace said, brow furrowed. “You’re crying.”
Runa reached up, wiping away tears she hadn’t realized were there. She blinked, staring at Lace.
“Wow… uh…” Runa shook her head, cleared her throat. “Do you feel like that all the time?”
“Only sometimes,” Lace said. “When I use my powers, kind of. But usually I can keep it back. It’d hard to focus on anything if I felt like that all the time.”
Runa gazed at her with wide eyes, and the furrow of Lace’s brow deepened.
“You sure you’re okay?” she said.
Runa blinked, realizing she was doing the very thing Lace feared and looking at her like she was somehow more than a person. But there was no way Runa could deny the personhood of someone who was gazing at her with such concern and apprehension.
Runa scooted forward so their knees bumped and leaned in, pressing her lips to Lace's. Lace gave a small gasp of surprise before returning the kiss. She held Runa’s hands even tighter.
When they pulled apart a moment later, Lace rested her forehead against Runa’s.
“You’re sure you don’t see me differently now, right?” Lace said quietly.
“Of course not,” Runa said. “You’re Lace Harding. And Lace Harding is stronger and more amazing then I’d even imagined.”
Lace laughed and leaned in for another kiss.

Harding Week Day 2 - Inquisition/Veilguard
For @datvcompanionweeks. Maybe kind of a loose connection to the theme today, but I did my best. This one turned out more emotional than I expected!
————————————-
Their camping trip so far was more subdued than expected. It had been less than a week since Lace encountered the Titan’s shade in the Deep Roads. Runa suggested postponing several times, but Lace was determined to go.
“I need this,” she finally admitted. “I need to see home.”
Runa couldn’t argue with that, which was how she found herself following behind Lace as they trekked up a steep hillside path in the Hinterlands. It twisted and turned and was practically vertical in some places. Though Runawas in excellent shape, she was still breathing too hard to talk easily, and had to watch her feet to keep from stumbling. Maybe for the best. Lace had been quiet all day, answering in monosyllables whenever Runa tried to start a conversation with her.
So, they were quiet as the path continued to wind up the hill, as the thick trees around them thinned out, as the landscape turned to grass and shrubs and huge sky, and as the top of the hill drew ever closer. At last, they rounded the last corner and emerged in a windswept meadow.
Runa took a moment to catch her breath and took in the landscape around them. The meadow was like something out of a painting, full of waving grasses and dotted with little white flowers. Below them the landscape spread out like a quilt, patches of trees giving way to little farms and fields framed by curling rivers. The only thing that would have made the scenery more beautiful was a clear sky, but it was overcast, an effect of the spreading Blight. Off in the far, far distance, smoke rose on the horizon line.
Runa glanced over at Lace. She, too, was staring at the landscape, but her expression was distant, like she wasn’t really seeing it. The breeze caught the loose tendrils of her red hair, but she made no move to brush the hair out of her face.
“Lace.” Runa moved to stand closer. “You okay?”
She blinked, looked up. She offered Runa a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.
“I will be, I think,” she said quietly. “I used to come up here during the Inquistion. It always made me feel calmer, somehow. But—”
Her gaze drifted back to the smoke on the horizon.
“I guess everything’s different now, huh?”
Runa hesitated, but only for a moment. She reached over and gently touched Lace’s hand, her fingers lightly brushing the back of her palm.
Lace looked over, mouth open. They hadn’t tried touching without some kind of barrier between them for a long time. For a moment, glowing veins of blue shone beneath Lace’s skin.
Then, she took a deep breath and they receded. She reached over and threaded her fingers with Runa’s, giving her hand a squeeze. Runa smiled encouragingly.
“Different isn’t always bad,” Runa said.
Lace smiled faintly. Her hand was warm and callused, just like Runa remembered from that first time.
“Maybe you’re right.”

Harding Week Day 1 - Fereldan/Travel
Enjoy this short little fic I barely finished in time for @datvcompanionweeks! Thanks to the mods for hosting this even :)
Featuring Lace x my MW dwarf Rook, Runa!
-------------------------------------
Runa and Lace’s first day in Kal Sharok was a blur of activity, to the point that it was a relief when Stalgard finally showed them to their room at the end of the night. As Lace splashed around in the deep stone bath in the cavernous room’s back corner, Runa stared out the large window carved into the wall (there was a window!) and down to the narrow streets and geometric buildings of the thaig below.
She couldn’t get over how massive Kal Sharok was, hadn’t been able to all day. Stalgard had led them down winding streets, between buildings of stone, around so many turns Runa could never have kept track. He’d shown them the different districts of the city, the carved monuments to their Paragons that adorned the walls, many feet high, and taken them to the archives, where his sister, Durra, had given them a tour of the surprisingly large building.
Everywhere they went, they were met with curious stares from children and adults alike. Peeking out from around buildings, pausing in their work to gawk at these two dwarves who were clearly outsiders. It was an odd feeling to finally be surrounded by so many people who looked like her, and yet to still feel so out of place.
“Hey!”
Runa was pulled from her musings by a pair of muscular arms wrapping around her waist, and a chin resting on her shoulder. Lace’s wet, loose hair pressed against Runa’s neck as she hugged her from behind.
“Hiii,” Runa said, leaning back slightly to look up at her girlfriend. “All clean?”
“Yep. Bath’s all yours.”
Runa turned so she was facing Lace, taking her hands. Lace was dressed in a loose nightshirt, and her skin was warm from the bath. She smiled as Runa leaned in and pressed her forehead to hers.
“Maybe in a minute,” Runa said.
“Fine by me.”
They stayed like that for a few moments, listening to the in and out of each other’s breaths. Runa felt some of the tension from the busy day ease.
“You were great today,” she said, eyes still closed. Lace exhaled a sigh.
“Aw, thanks,” she said. “You were too."
“I didn’t do anything,” Runa said. “Don’t be so modest, Miss Speaking-in-Front-of-the-Kal-Sharok-Assembly.”
“All I did was talk about my powers. Not that different from giving a scouting report, really.”
“And you were the guest of honor at that feast afterwards, and had to talk to all those strangers.”
“I don’t know about the guest of honor. And they were nice!”
“A cultural hero and modest,” Runa said, her voice teasing. “How did I get so lucky?”
Lace snorted, but moved and wrapped her arms around Runa’s waist. She rested her cheek against Runa’s shoulder, her wet hair getting Runa’s blouse damp. “You’re impossible.”
“Hm. Then I’m not the only one.”
Lace shook her head but stayed where she was, speaking after a moment.
“I mean what I said, though. I couldn’t have done any of it without you there.”
Runa shrugged. “I just stood in the background.”
“You were there,” Lace said, moving back a bit so she was looking Runa in the eye. She squeezed her hands. “That’s enough. It’ll always be enough.”
Runa’s eyes widened, before her expression softened. She leaned in and pressed her lips to Lace’s. She felt the other dwarf smile. Runa had spent all day feeling like she didn’t quite belong, but she’d forgotten the most important thing: she would always belong right here.
