ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Carlotta lived an interesting life. All women of her time did. She had heard once, as a young woman, a Chinese curse โ€“ โ€œMay you live in interesting times.โ€ One could only imagine it had been coined specifically for those forced to pick up the pieces of the war. She had passed her thirtieth year and, like so many others, missed the milemarks of marriage, children, and everything that would have marked her as an adult.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย Admittedly, she was a singer. Miss Marie Lloyd had married, but she was the exception โ€“ British too. She likely wouldnโ€™t have been married to begin with. If she told herself that enough, she would forget about Ulbaldo.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย They were both young and in love in Paris when the war began. He was drafted, Italian though he may be. She waited day and night on his letters. A perfect duplicate of every other young, forlorn lover until she received one last letter from the government. Lost at the Somme. That had been more than a decade ago, and yetโ€ฆ
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Carlotta needed to clear her head, and she knew one place to do that without entirely leaving the city. Though It was a silly question in many ways โ€“ as if one could simply own a bridge as a comb โ€“ in other ways, it was her bridge. She never contemplated the out that others had. Not verbally. And not for more than a few minutes. But the water was inviting on nights like this. Soothing. Especially as the light danced on the ripples, a modern-day siren calling lost souls into the depths of the Seine. Another few each paper round, it seemed.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย She glanced up in surprise, short curls bouncing lightly around her face. Sheโ€™d noted the figure, but hadnโ€™t expected a greeting. She nodded warily.
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย โ€œGood evening, Monsieur.โ€ Her accent had all been sanded from her voice during the war. Italy was not held in high regards. She smiled as he pushed forward. He seemed a bit punch drunk, but largely harmless. He was hiding something โ€“ but he was too clean for it to be murder. Immediate murder, at least. She took his hand with the grace the stage lent her. Always emulating the upper classes, even if sheโ€™d never be allowed to join them properly. โ€œThe moon plays tricks on us all. My name is Carlotta.โ€
ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Once he released her, she turned back to the river, watching over the waves. โ€œYou seem anxious, Monsieur Gleb.โ€ She could imagine why. Russian boots, accent, even the hair they all seemed to have. Not to mention the anxious, darting eyes of a runaway. The war had ruined Europe, but the revolution had obliterated the Russian people. What little they saw of them in Paris. โ€œAre you quite alright?โ€
@somptueusesignora | plotted starter!
This morning, Gleb delayed his return to Russia by a week, telling the Commissioner her only needed more time to find the girl. Heโ€™d found her two days ago. Heโ€™d let her go two days ago. Whether she was or was not Anastasia did not matter. She had no designs on destroying Russia; he had not been able to pull the trigger. Whoever she was and wherever he let her flee to, when Gleb returned to Russia, he would go to his death in her stead. He knew the order of things. It hadnโ€™t much changed from Imperial rule. He who went against the government was never heard of again.
If he didnโ€™t return to Russia, another eager upstart - one just like he had been - would take his place. The hunt would resume. Anya would die by the hands of a stranger. This, Gleb could not allow. Whatever he was, he was not his fatherโ€™s son.
Who was he now?
Laughter spilled from a nearby bar as drunks tumbled out onto the street. Slurring to each other in English loudly, pointing at Gleb and his shoes, laughing, they carried on. Gleb scowled. He didnโ€™t have to know the language to guess what they were saying. Pushing off the railing, Gleb stepped down the cobblestones. As he walked, looking for some place quieter, more private. He wandered through neighborhoods, further away from the hotel in which the government had put him up. ย At last he found a quiet bridge. Shimmering up at him, reflecting Parisโ€™ lights, the Seine did not look so different from the Neva. Gleb stared into the water. How easy it would be to disappear here. He thought of his motherโ€™s words. Your father died of shame, Glebka. Heโ€™d heard the gunshot; even then, not wanting to believe it he knew his father had not died of shame, but by his own hand. And he was not his fatherโ€™s son. Was he?
Years of climbing through the Bolshevik government taught him never to relax, to always be aware of his surroundings. He heard footsteps - light, heeled clicks on the stone - approach. Tensing, he swiveled his head to see. Instead of an armed guard, stood a woman. She seemed as surprised to see him as he was to see her. A nervous smile flickered across Glebโ€™s face and he pushed back his hair in an effort to look less like a man in the midst of treason. Wetting his lips, he struggled for words. When he found him, he managed to say -
โ€œGood evening, mademoiselle. Are you- Is this your bridge?โ€
He recognized her face somewhere. Usually, Gleb never forgot a face. Usually he could easily pair it with a name. Now, he was stuck. He studied her as the stupidity of his own words reached his ears.
โ€œForgive me. Iโ€™m not myself tonight. ,,. No that youโ€™d know the difference.โ€ A quiet laugh, a shake of his head. โ€œItโ€™s Gleb. I mean, Iโ€™m Gleb.โ€
No more Deputy Commissioner General Gleb Vaganov. ย Only a frightened man, in a land that was not his own, cracking under pressure from across the continent.. He stuck out his hand for a handshake. What else could he do?

โ€œI want to unlace your corset slowly.โ€
โ€œI couldnโ€™t take my eyes off you from across the ball room.โ€
โ€œNot any jewel in the entire kingdom could compare to you.โ€
โ€œI cannot marry that man. He smells of rank meat!โ€
โ€œI cannot marry that woman. Her voice causes dogs to howl!โ€
โ€œI need you in my life. I am incomplete without you.โ€
โ€œWe could retire to my suite. No one would know.โ€
โ€œMay I suggest a walk in the garden? The roses are in bloom.โ€
โ€œI will slay anything that dares to harm you, my love.โ€
โ€œThere are secret passages. Come! We havenโ€™t a moment to spare.โ€
โ€œI willย marry you. I shall make it happen. Somehow.โ€
โ€œHow long would it take to remove all those layers?โ€
โ€œMy crown is heavy. It feels lighter when youโ€™re around.โ€

Musicals by John Mulaney
(Edit 10/18) Thank you all!!
Ps thereโ€™s more now.
Book of Mormon:
Iโ€™ll keep all my emotions right here and then one day Iโ€™ll die.
Heathers:
Adult life is already so goddamn weird.
Phantom of the Opera:
God canโ€™t hear you.
Dear Evan Hansen:
And I said โ€œnoโ€ you know, like a liar.
Mean Girls:
13 year olds are the meanest people in the world. They will make fun of you but in an accurate way. Theyโ€™ll be like โ€œHey, look at that high-waisted man. He got feminine hips.โ€
West Side Story:
Every new song is about how โ€œTonight is the nightโ€ and how โ€œWe only have tonight.โ€ Thatโ€™s such 19 year old garbage.
Rent: *aggressive push* Excuse me, I am homeless, I am gay, I have AIDS, Iโ€™m new in town.
Chicago:
โ€œGet away from my wife!โ€ โ€œNo one talk to my wife!โ€ โ€œI didnโ€™t kill my wife!โ€
Les Mis:
๐ŸŽถBread is God is Bread๐ŸŽถ
Cabaret:
College is a $120,000 hooker and you are an idiot who fell in love with her. Sheโ€™s not gonna do anything else for you!
Cats:
Why do people shush animals? Theyโ€™ve never spoken!
Mary Poppins:
Everyone get out of my way! I just want to sit here and feed my birds.
Bonnie and Clyde:
Hereโ€™s how easy it was to get away with a bank robbery back in the โ€˜30โ€™s โ€” as long as you werenโ€™t still there when the police arrived, you had a 99% chance of getting away with it.
Anastasia:
Was there even a ghost, Mother, or was the dead Victorian girl you saw just me all along?
Newsies: I like reading the New York Post because reading the New York Post is like talking to someone who heard the news, and now theyโ€™re trying to give you the gist. Itโ€™s like, youโ€™d get the same amount of information if you grabbed someone on the street and you were like, โ€œWHAT HAPPENED TODAY?โ€
Cinderella: My vibe is more like, โ€œHey, you could pour soup in my lap and Iโ€™ll probably apologize to you.โ€
Hamilton: And then for a second we were like โ€œmaybe the horse catcher will catch the horseโ€ and then the horse is like โ€œI have fired the horse catcherโ€. He can do that?? That shouldnโ€™t be allowed no matter who the horse is. I donโ€™t remember THAT in Hamiltonโ€ฆ
Wicked: โ€œDo my friends hate me or do I just need to go to sleep?โ€
Fame: That is way better than walking across a stage at graduation,ย hungover, in a gown, to accept a certificate for reading books that I didnโ€™t read.
A Gentlemanโ€™s Guide to Love and Murder: SHUT UP, YOUโ€™RE ALL GONNA DIE. STREET SMARTS.
Avenue Q: Sit down, sit down, SIT DOWN. I wanna talk about what happened yesterday. We invite a woman here with homemade puppets to teach you about bullying, through skits, and you laugh at this woman??
Sweeney Todd: โ€œHow could another person kill someone? How could a human being kill another human being?โ€ And then I got cheated on, and I was like, โ€œOh, okay.โ€
Into the Woods: Some Dutch prick was sneaking in at night being like, โ€œAh-ha-ha, I take your milk.โ€ And the farmer was like, โ€œWell, then, this is your cow now.โ€ And he was like, โ€œNo, no proof of purchase.โ€ And he ran off into the night. That sounded Dutch, right?

โ€œThe Opera Placeโ€
What the fork?
โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”
gosh this was so much fuuuun. This is a chalenge by @timebird84 and i hope i made it right LOL we are suposed to make a crossover between a tv show and Phantom of the Opera, and that was what came out, The Good Place . Here we see Erik, Christine, Madame Giry, Meg Giry, Raoul and The Daroga (and a little easter egg for Carlotta).
Raoul looks like he just seen something that traumatized him for life, and Erik looks really amused, so you can only imagine what just happened (the women all looks very amused too, hmmmmmmmmmmmm)
anywaaay, please make this challenge too, itโ€™s really fun!

Quote
Many boys will bring you flowers. But someday youโ€™ll meet a boy who will learn your favorite flower, your favorite song, your favorite sweet. And even if he is too poor to give you any of them, it wonโ€™t matter because he will have taken the time to know you as no one else does. Only that boy earns your heart.
