1966 Before the Stooges, before the mayhem
This is Iggy Pop's first recorded vocal, fronting The Iguanas on a teenage take of Louie Louie.
Find the original version by Richard Berry and Otis Redding's soulful spin, in my earlier double dose.

The guitars growl, the vocals sneer,
this is the kind of snarling stomp that gave garage rock its bite. The Alarm Clocks only needed one word: Yeah.

Reblogging this haunting version of Heartbreak Hotel as a small tribute to a voice full of elegance and quiet strength.
R.I.P Connie Francis.
1959
This is the second time I’m featuring a double shot of “Heartbreak Hotel”!
Found this version after posting "Fallin'" and got really obsessed with it ever since.
I love how Connie’s version brings a fresh emotional texture to the rock ‘n’ roll classic.
The original was released in
1956
Be sure to also check out my previous "Heartbreak Hotel" posts :
Wanda Jackson’s fiery take and Johnny Cash’s impersonation of an impersonator who impersonates Elvis!

Photography information from : nickelinthemachine.com

There’s something hypnotic about the way The Belles deliver Come Back — minimal, moody, and absolutely captivating.
Their version of Gloria — cheekily retitled Melvin — is another gem.
