i know everybody’s characterization in sonic boom is bad because it’s a baby show for babies. but it is also a show for unwell 20 year olds like me and i can say with confidence that sonic boom shadow is the funniest character on planet earth. he falls for a sonic deepfake the instant he hears it and it makes him so mad he tries destroying the entire city. for all we know he lives in a cave. eggman offers him a seat and he yells ‘I PREFER TO STAND.’ he’s the only competent antagonist in the show and he’s as dumb as a bag of bricks

I know it's just a joke because Mayor just told Tails "Mr. Mayor is my father," but I'm loving the idea that Dr. Eggman is actually Eggman Jr.

So it’s very noticeable that boom sonic is awkward, to say the least

So here’s my theory: Y’all know the episode where Sonic gets literally kidnapped and assaulted by one of his fans. Yeah I’m not gonna dive into that right now but Sonic’s probably not mentally stable after that.

But when he’s being hugged he seems rlly stiff. So I think that he’s not a big fan of physical contact he doesn’t initiate, giving he’s a very ‘take charge’ type of dude.

I mean if you think about it, Sonic usually wants/needs to be in control of the situation to make him feel comfortable. Throughout the the show, Sonic doesn’t really like giving up the leadership position or the feeling of superiority in general, like in the episode ‘blue with envy’.

Sonic probably has ocd or some form of autism, like how at the end of the episode ‘Fortress of squalitude’ Sonic lets Amy ‘redecorate’ his shack as long as she doesn’t actually move or change anything. (Speaking from my own ocd problems, as I don’t like people touching my stuff or initiating physical contact). Honestly, Boom Sonic has always veered more towards the autism spectrum compared to his adhd coded counterparts so it makes a lil bit of sense
