Eggman’s strength

It’s not to be underestimated. After the best and very notable cutscene from Lost World became a thing, more people started noticing this. But it’s always been evident in many ways across various media, intentional or not at times. So I’m gonna talk about a bunch of ‘em!

I know Tails can do this too and it doesn’t make sense because he doesn’t wear a seat belt but still, him lugging the Egg Walker around in general shouldn’t be taken lightly (As for him somehow being able to hoist himself up while in mech/vehicle, he does in Riders too so it has happened more than once)

In Sonic X we even got those two seconds of him punching that robot himself and being able to destroy it just like that. Fantastic.

And of course, the Frozen Factory scene that I will forever adore. It’s a good visual example of him really going for it.

There’s actually a few Archie (including El Gran Gordo) examples I could use but I want to show one of the more ‘subtle’ ways he’s used his strength and payed it no mind. Metal Sonic weighs 125.2 kgs (275.4 lbs) and this man is holding him like it’s literally nothing. WHEW

Even in IDW as it would take a lot of force to crack that glass with a throw of just his one arm with one hit.

One of the things that I love, love, looove about Riders is that Eggman was classed as a power type before the technique class came to be. And because of that he also has the ability to punch vehicles and other huge obstacles in his path out of the way while driving at high speeds. Now THAT is strength. And they chose him as one of the characters to do it. LOVE it.

I just see power being the most fitting type for Eggman and don’t want to see it any other way. He breaks that barrier of people stereotyping him to be weak, so easily. We have Big also doing a fabulous job with that so why shouldn’t Eggman also have that glory?

People claim that he’s “too weak to fight himself and needs machines to do the work for him” but even when he is operating his mechs, think about it. Some of them require a lot of his movement and strength to move and control them.

I’d say the Egg Dragoon is one of the best examples I can use because he evidently needs to move his body to coordinate because it moves him around a lot. You can hear the effort he puts into it by his grunts. It takes power and a weaker person wouldn’t have as far as much control of that. And that’s not the only one because a lot of them involve a lot movement, which would also need a lot of force.

He is also of course, known to have impressive durability. He’s been caught up in many explosions and collisions and fallen from heights that are deemed deadly but always gets back up from it all. He has even fallen all the way down from the Lost Hex and the impact was strong enough to bury him underground, yet he still arose as a living man. You could use the excuse that this is because it’s fiction and characters can just survive things like this anyway but I think that in this case it really adds to Eggman’s strength and the things he can take.

This is far from everything and there’s whole lot more I could include too! But I’d say this is a fair amount for this post heheh

Eggman is far from weak and defenseless without his machines and can and will stand for himself when needed and I will always love that. Even though a lot more people realize this now, it is still very often overlooked and I will not hesitate to show them that he can be so much more than what they believe.
