...quick note.

This muse may go inactive.

I thought about this all night last night. I haven’t really been in the mood to be here and I thought I had the muse to bring Naeun back again, but I think I have officially lost the muse I had for Naeun that I once had four years ago. I think after awhile, I just felt like I was doing it to keep the muse relevant, but at then I started to feel like it was pointless bringing her back. However, I can be found at another muse that I am quite active on. If anyone who I have talked to would like to talk to my other muse, please message me or like this post and I’ll go to you. 

I am so sorry for the inconvenience it may cause to those who Naeun has talked to, but some things are meant to stay dead...and this muse definitely needs to stay dead.

Naeun nodded her head in understanding about the situation of his name. “I see,” she mumbled. Blinking, she turned her head in the direction she was traveling in. “I’m just going to this small restaurant for my unnie. She has been quite successful in her solo debut so I wanted to get her cake as as a surprise,” nodding her head again, she chewed on the inside of her cheek. Naeun really didn’t want to be late so she took a small step forward as she glanced at the male again. “So I guess this is our parting? Unless you plan on accompanying me. But I believe you said you have schedules, too...”

“Don’t we all.” Was his response to her so-called issue of not being able to find her way, it was not something uncommon. People got confused and the world was a large place. “Kaiden is my birth name. But Taeyong is what I go by during schedules and in the band itself. It just turned out that way for some reason. But yeah, that one.” The boy could tell she was getting tired as her arms lowered toward the ground. The last thing he wanted to do was keep her waiting but he was also curious as to what her destination was. “Where did you say you were going?”

“Ah...” Naeun glanced to the side, knowing that she was the kind of person to get lost, but she wasn’t going to this time. She had just come from her destination and she hasn’t forgotten yet. “It’s okay.. I am kind of the one to get lost, too.. It doesn’t happen often, but I have my moments,” she nodded her head slowly. Lowering her arms a little to relieve herself from the muscle pain she was feeling from holding onto the cake too long. “Kaiden...?” The name slipped off her tongue in a weird way, unfamiliar with the pronunciation. “Taeyong... Oh! Yes! I remember seeing your music video. The 7th Sense, right?” Head tilted and a small smile placed on her lips, happy she finally recognized the male. 

Kaiden only wanted to make sure that she would arrive to where ever it was she needed to be safely given her clumsy nature. “Oh, that’s good then. You just seemed like the type to get lost, not in any bad way.” He said cooly, trying not to come off as offensive. In normal circumstance he wouldn’t care for it, but given that he was a popular idol and he was near his work being polite was the only option. “My name?” His brows furrowed together when she asked, the right rising slightly higher after. “Kaiden. But if you know or have seen me from somewhere you probably know me better as Taeyong. I’m an idol. I just debuted in the group NCT U.”

Chewing on the inside of her cheek, she felt bad for ruining their original plans. Looking over her shoulder, she just sighed quietly and decided to stop worrying. “Never mind, never mind. We can just go and get the snacks.. I’m just being paranoid. I don’t usually sneak out with anyone else other than my group members,” she muttered quietly. Naeun walked in front of the male, embarrassed that she couldn’t look at him. She closed her eyes for being indecisive again. She didn’t like showing this side of her, but she had her moments and this was one of them.

Her cautious attitude had caught his attention, and it would be his fault if Seungyoon didn’t consider her worry. The time when you forgot that you were no longer your old self and being reminded every time that breathing in the wrong air could cause you some trouble, Seungyoon could only sigh at the sudden difficulty. It seemed getting a midnight snack with a friend no longer be part of his daily agenda. “Then…what should we do? Shall we make a delivery instead? I don’t want you to get caught in trouble.”

{ ❀ – She could just hear the enthusiasm in his voice, the corner of her lips turning upwards in a small smile. She adored how much he was willing to save her a seat even if her schedules weren’t set for the next upcoming months. She felt her eyelids grow heavy, feeling the fatigue hit her like a wave rushing onto the shore of a beach, she couldn’t stop the quiet yawn that escaped her lips. “Ah--I’m sleepy thinking about my lack of sleep,” her yawn changed to a small, airy laugh. “I’m going to try my hardest not to fall asleep talking to you, okay, oppa?” Closing her eyes, continuing to listen to what he has been up to, she could imagine Doojoon having fun with all his friends. She couldn’t imagine what it’d be like to see her old friends and her new friends from the university she has been attending. She was pulled out of her reverie when he responded with a question. “Oh, you’re not boring at all. You’re really doing all the things that not most idols can do. You enjoy your time with friends without being bothered...” She paused briefly. “You’re not bothered are you? When you’re out playing soccer with your friends?”

His smile only grew in width in response to the younger’s words, the conversation light-hearted and easy enough to allow him to fully relax, his free arm absentmindedly massaging the one with which he held his phone to get rid of the soreness of overexertion. “I will!,” he agreed enthusiastically, “There’s always a VIP seat ready for you.” A chuckle followed his words, light and genuine. “Ah, you live in a more exemplary manner than I do, it seems,” he admitted with a grin bright enough to be audible in his voice, his eyes downcast in guilt for but a short moment – she wouldn’t be able to see it anyway. “Sleep is always a concern, isn’t it? But if the drowsiness really hits you, try to squeeze in a short nap. Just 15 minutes already do wonders.” His advice was heartfelt, even if not the most helpful, for he felt like it was the least he could do for her, since there was no way for him to influence her schedules after all. “Me?”, he asked, almost surprised by the change of topic back to him, and the slightly bashful chuckle that escaped him afterwards gave that away. “When I haven’t been working… nothing all too interesting, if I’m honest. I’m trying to get back into shape, so I’ve been exercising regularly, but other than that… I’ve mostly met up with friends or played video games. Ah, we recently had a soccer match too!” Thereafter, he paused, a few seconds ticking away in which he pursed his lips, not entirely satisfied with his answer; but then he simply decided to speak up again, his tone joking, “I’m pretty boring, huh?”

Her words did wonders to warm his heart – or maybe it was the fact that she was actually willing to be there for them; for him –, and yet he still hesitated before typing his reply, large fingers hovering only millimeters above the keyboard. While he really wanted to meet up, he wasn’t entirely sure whether it was a good idea if he took into account the mood he was in, since the last thing he wanted was to drag her down with him.

Willing himself to smile as if in preparation for the brighter image he was planning to show her, he finally wrote his response.

↪ That’s very kind of you, and we appreciate it a lot, honestly! ↪ Ah, I’d like that. ↪ Where should we meet? I’m free and can get anywhere by car. ㅎ

Nearly panicking when she received the messages, she actually didn’t have any place in mind to meet up at. Staring at her phone, her fingers hovered over the screen as she racked through her brain to figure where they should go. She hadn’t even noticed that she was tapping on a letter as she got lost in thought. Quickly erasing the letters she had just typed, she replied to the male.

[ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] Uh--I didn’t think that far into the future.

A few more moments passed before an idea finally popped into her head.

[ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] Ah! There’s this rooftop restaurant that I know of here in Myeongdong. It’s called Le Style Bar. [ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] It’s on the rooftop of a hotel. I usually go there to enjoy an evening drink. How about it?

Quickly texting her choice in location, she sent the messages.

Naeun bit down on her lip a little as she stepped closer to the male, her eyes shifting left and right, cautious of her surroundings. “It really feels like someone or something is following us.. It’s not really because it’s dark, I’m just kind of afraid this will be on the internet by morning,” she expressed quietly.

Her sudden change of thought attracted Seungyoon to stop from moving. He looked over his shoulder and gave her a questioning smile. “Why? We’re just going to take a walk to the next block. It’s not that far. Are you scared because it’s dark already?”

Naeun stopped in her tracks when she heard a question directed at her from behind. Turning around, she looked at the stranger with her eyebrows furrowed, wondering why he asked that. “U-Uh---I’m not lost. I just have to walk down a few more blocks..” She slid her right hand from under the box and pointed in the direction she was walking in. Putting her hand back to securely hold onto the box once more, Naeun was surprised he was making conversation with her. Getting another glance at his face, she realized that he looked familiar. But she couldn’t figure out who he was. “The cake is for a celebration for one my unnies,” she nodded her head. “However, if I may ask, what’s your name? I’ve seen you somewhere, but I can’t figure it out..”

Kaiden could do nothing else but watch as she adjusted the strap appropriately so that it would no longer bother her for the remainder of her journey. What he could not comprehend is why she had not done that in the first place to begin with. It would have taken an extra second and probably prevented the excessive struggle the woman had taken upon herself while walking to wherever it may have been. “Are you lost at all?” Kaiden was certain that someone as clumsy as this could get lost relatively easily as well. “What’s the cake for? And that’s okay. I give second chances.” He said, a playfulness hinted in his voice. It was obvious that she felt embarrassed though he had no clue as to why she spent such a long time staring at him. Maybe she was aware of his popularity as an idol though she would then only know his stage name, Taeyong.

Naeun stayed leaned forward so she would be able to catch the male’s response. Her eyebrows raised as her curiosity grew. Her eyes widened when he was unsure of the number of chicken he was able to eat in one sitting. Blinking, Naeun couldn’t keep her soft laugh from escaping her lips. “Wow! Seven?” She whispered in amusement. “You sure it’s not more than that?”

Onew stood up straight as Naeun asked her question a playful look in his eyes when he noticed her smile. A small lean in return, head lowered just enough to look her straight in the eyes. “The most I have eaten would need to stay between us. We can’t let my gluttonous get out on the web but it would have to be as much where I lost count halfway through the meal. Five–” He pauses and lifts his hands to count. “No.. maybe six or seven.” He stares at his fingers and frowns.

Naeun could feel the atmosphere shift, she was fully aware that the male in front of her was nervous. But, she kept her thought to herself to avoid making it even more awkward between the two of them. Nodding her head as he spoke, Naeun glanced at his face, admiring the passion in his eyes that were clearly avoiding looking at her. A soft chuckle passed her lips as a small smile appeared on her face. “Of course I paid attention. If I don’t get the chance to watch debut stages, I do listen to the songs new groups come out with or new songs old groups release.” She extended out her arm and placed a gentle pat on the male’s arm, “Live in the moment---” Naeun paused, realizing she didn’t know his name. “I forgot to formally introduce myself that I didn’t get your name..” She slowly put her hands behind her back as she bowed. “I’m Son Naeun...You?”

Taeyong cleared his throat in an attempt to get focus back on what was really happening. He couldn’t really keep eye contact with the woman, actually trying to just look at her forehead so that he wouldn’t be too flustered to talk. “I didn’t really think you would have paid attention, Sunbae.” His voice shook with anxiousness. “I..honestly felt like I debuted 2 years ago, but to have an official group name and title is nothing compared to it. It’s like everything I worked for has finally became worth it all.”

“Jackson!” Naeun waved her arms high into the air to get the attention of the male who was walking in her direction but his focus on his surroundings. She didn’t care she was getting looks from others as she continued to wave her hand and hopping in her spot.

Naeun stared at her screen, waiting to see the bubble pop up that the male was typing on his end. She watched as it blinked before her eyes, taunting her as she waited. When the messages started to pop up she smiled, reassured that her past label mate was doing okay. Naeun felt better knowing that Hyunseung would still be under CUBE; not too far away from Beast. She was about to type out a response until the grey bubble popped up once again. 

It stayed on the corner much longer and she wondered what he was typing. When the message finally appeared, a small smile formed on her lips as she read it.

[ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] I’m always worried about you and the rest of Beast.  [ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] Well that’s good to hear that Hyunseung oppa will still be with CUBE. [ sᴍs ↦ ᴅᴏᴏᴊᴏᴏɴ ᴏᴘᴘᴀ ] Perhaps...are you busy? My schedules are freed up. Why don’t we meet up now? 

Ever since the news had made headlines, Doojoon’s phone had frequently been buzzing with incoming messages, but he had taken the liberty to ignore them for now – until the wound wasn’t as fresh anymore; until he was sure he wouldn’t cause any unnecessary worry solely because of the mood he was currently in. However, when Naeun’s name lit up the display, he readily picked up the gadget – it felt like it was somehow her business as well.

Although he typed another message right away, his finger hovered over the ‘send’ button as the seconds passed, but he eventually decided to click it anyway while a soft sigh slipped through his lips.

Naeun placed her hand in front of her mouth as her eyes widened. “You guys don’t follow a diet regime?” Shocked, she was kind of jealous to hear such a confession. “If you do mukbang stream, you will have a blast. You’ll ruin your image a bit if you stuff your mouth to its max, but at least you will have fun,” the older nodded. “If you found the fountain of youth, do show me where it is. I might need it as I grow older.”

“Well… that may be because we do! …now, this is confidential so please don’t share, but there’s no way to keep all that energy and follow a diet… so we don’t. I’m still waiting for the day when we get our own mukbang stream…” She flashed the girl her best attempt at an innocent smile, before nodding, firmly. “Actually, I’ve found the fountain of  youth, so there’s no need…”
