as somebody who's hypersexual due to BPD due to childhood trauma (not the same anon who mentioned hypersexuality before, but I second that SO hard), so much of Flea's character is super relatable to me. in a way that's almost uncomfortable, but not in a bad way. I love him so much. weirdly enough, he's almost helped me have more sympathy for myself

anyway, bc of the detective's one-track mind about their work, this obv isn't game canon, but I do wonder how Flea would feel about a detective who was hypersexual from trauma and, when they got stressed from work/life stuff, used sexuality as a coping mechanism, to a point where it's probably unhealthy

(obvious answer is just "oh god, there's two of us now." tbh I don't see the two of them getting a lot of mystery solving done at first if that was the case. but it'd be interesting if one/both of them started to recognize their own behavior in the other and how they might respond to that)

It consistently surprises and delights and humbles me that someone could find something healing in Flea, and I’m so glad he resonated with you like that.

I think having a detective with an outlet/coping mechanism so similar to Flea’s behaviour would be potentially disastrous in the beginning, but… since the two of them DO seem to heal something in the other, becoming each other’s support and solace… they’d still ultimately be a positive change in each other’s lives.

was scrolling for ages so I eventually saw your post about how underrated talking to other characters about your pc's romance is, and like YES I love that aspect of romance games/ifs so much lmfao. I will run around in Dragon Age 2 just to see what different party members will say about my Hawke romancing Fenris. (I'm gay but I also romanced Leliana in origins before finding Zevran because her lines were so good.) it's always disappointed me when stories will just have the supporting cast not comment on the mc's romance, because I rlly wanna see them gossiping n shit! very excited for Jodie to meet Flea

I'd say Flea has entered his monogamy era. He probably wouldn't think he had the right to say anything or even feel bad if the detective slept with someone else, but he would feel hurt.

Hi sonnet! I just re-read chapter 6 and something occurred to me. When Flea said I'm yours was he on some level trying to reassure the detective he didn't to want to be with anyone else/reassure himself he doesn't *have* to be with anyone else after the infamous pink street line ?

Honestly, I think at that point Flea was speaking wholly selfishly. He just wanted to impress on the detective/get confirmation for himself that he has a place here and he's not going to be thrown away. It's not that he wouldn't want to reassure the detective if they were feeling insecure, it's just that in that moment there is no one more insecure or terrified than Flea.

It would be like playing with a toddler, in terms of coordination and attention span. I think your best bet would be incentivising him to keep playing through a reward system of some kind.

You’ve made a point that Flea is up for almost most everything, so what exactly is a hard no for him? Has it changed or evolved with regards to his relationship with the detective? Like things he was up for no longer being on the table or vice versa?

With others, he's never really had any hard nos. There were things he disliked or even hated, but he'd never let an inconvenient thing like his discomfort jeopardise a meal. A lot of those are things he has since learned he actually enjoys when it's with the detective. As for the rest...
