Hi, I'm Sonya and I'm 28 years old. I started taking Accutane on 4/25/14. I wanted to start this blog for others who suffer from acne as a way to lend support. Not judgement.

I started using the black soap on August 4. I'm not sure if I see a change or not. To me I'll always look the same 😐🙁

I picked this up at Walgreens today, my skin still isn't where in want it to be but what could it hurt to give this a try. I don't have a soap dish to keep it in, so I cut the whole bar into little pieces and put them in a sandwich bag.

Here is a comparison of 2014 and yesterday (7/26/16). There is a big difference but I wish that my skin tone was little more even

Here's my skin since my last post. No real change, but my most hated feature is still so visible.

Here's the mask that I bought form Target. They have a kit 3-4 different ones.

Here is the toner that I made using Apple Cider Vinegar. I must say that it’s worked wonders on a keloid on my shoulder but I’m a little unsure about my face.
What I do is I fill up the little pink bottle with water (not tap I bought a bout of Fiji) about a little more than ½ and the rest with ACV. After I wash my face I put a little on a cotton pad and pat it on my face.
Then I follow it up with Yes to Coconuts moisturizer. That’s also something I’m a little unsure of too. I got it cause I got a rebate back from Ibotta. Based on the videos I’ve seen on YouTube it seems to work wonders.

It's been so long......
Hey guys!!
It’s been a really long time since my last post. I don’t even remember the last time that made an update on my journey. But now, I want to continue to maintain healthy skin and even out my skin tone.
So far it’s been the same. I did start getting a few pimples a few months back here and there and my doctor put me on meds. I don’t remember to take them half the time but my skin hasn’t freaked out on me much. Because of the wonderful world of the internet I have picked up a few new things that I want to try.
One is a Derma Roller. They’re expensive like $60 bucks but their supposed to help with hyper pigmentation. I’ve also revisited two old favorites where are Ocean Sea Salt and Mask of Megamcminty form Lush. And I’ve found face masks at Target. Then the last one is making my own toner with Apple Cider Vinegar. I’ll post pictures after this post and talk more about what I’m doing.

Happy Three Day Weekend!!!! So I'm not even a year post Accutane and I'm getting white heads. Ugh!! I'm planning on making a call to my derm next week, maybe they can give me a topical or something. How long was it before you stopped Accutane that you noticed little pimples, white heads etc....

Giving this a try again. Especially since the weather is getting warmer and the sun is going to be blazing.....I want to protect my face. And when I tried it last year I only used it like once. Now I'm going to make a point to use it everyday.

Here's some pictures from 11 months after Accutane. One day I'll have to do side by side comparisons. My hyperpigmentation isn't 100% gone but it's a lot better than what it was. I'm still using my tea tree oil products from the Body Shop....and once I get some bills paid off I'm going to get some really good make up. But I've never really worn make up since my skin was so inflamed I didn't want to make it worse. And for me makeup didn't hide anything. Have any of you used Ambi products before?! I'm thinking of getting that to even my skin tone a little more. Well, how are the rest of you on your journey to clear skin?

SO Sorry!!!!
I have to apologize for being away for so long. I can’t believe that it’s been almost a year since I started my Accutane journey. I’m still using the tea tree oil products from the Body Shop and so far I’ve haven’t had breakouts. (KNOCK ON WOOD).
I’m still trying to increase my water intake (I really only find myself drinking water at work) and eating better. I ever really ate bad to begin with, but I’m trying to eat more fruits and vegetables. As well, as not buying food out so much.
I am DEFINITELY going to work on posting pictures this today, if not this week.

Hello! I was wonderin if you could possible take a survey on accutane that I have on my blog? It's the first post and it would be great if you could reblog it too please! I would appreciate it so so much! Thank you :)
Hey!! Sorry I’m getting to this so late. I couldn’t find your surgery......if it’s not to late I wouldn’t mind taking it.

Hi! I'm dark skinned too (latina), I've been on accutane for about two months, my acne is going away, but I still deal with hyperpigmentation, For us, its a little harder to get rid of it, so I was wondering, how did you get rid of it?
Sorry it took so long for me to answer this. I use tea tree oil products from the Body Shop. I wrote a post about it. I didn't want to use bleaching cream, like my doctor suggested. It's not really 100% gone but it's better. I need to take updated photos of my progress. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Post Accutane Day 25
Has anyone else had a feeling that your skin is the same, but in your head you know it's not?
So when, I look in the mirror I see a change in my skin. But I also still feel the same way. I don't want to say ugly or unpretty but that's the way that I feel. I don't think that this is something that I will ever shake but it's a feeling that I've had my WHOLE life especially when my acne was at it's worse.
There is still discoloration on my cheeks, but nothing like it was before. I thought about getting some of the skin clearing lotion from the body shop pictured below.....to help even out my skin tone a little.
Here are some pictures. I'm drinking way more water and I'm planning on going to Zumba twice a month. I WAS going to go back today to a new class, BUT noone showed up........so I'll try again next time.

Post Accutane Day 22
I can't believe that I'm nearly a month off Accutane. I can't say that I've looked at myself too much in the mirror lately. But I'm also trying to get used to this "new skin."
To me I'm still that girl with the ugly brown spots and bumpy skin. I think that I've said that before. But when you have gone through practically ALLLLL of your teens and adult life with acne it's hard to aspect anything else. At least for me it is.
I've never really worn makeup mainly because it NEVER worked with my acne. My acne scars always seemed to bleed through the scarring. But none since my acne is gone (hopefully it stays that way) and my scarring is clearing up, I'm going to try experimenting with shadow, blushes etc etc......
Also, not many people have told me how good my skin looks.....I can count on my hand (three people) who have told me that my skin looks better without me asking them.....I guess their not trying to be rude but. I went through a lot emotionally taking this stuff. TELL ME MY SKIN LOOKS GOOD!!!!
OH, and my skin goes from being SUPER dry to normal. I'm not really sure what's up with that. I've been using the Aveeno Skin Relief body wash that I posted a while back. That seems to help some....but my the evening.
I'll put updated pictures this weekend!!!!!

Post Accutane-Day 7
I'm still getting rashes on my wrists. But my lips seem less dry and my back isn't as itchy anymore. I'm still working on my healthy food/fitness journey but I'm getting there.
