man. the writers deserve a raise!
604-8442-1567
The "604" area code phone number that calls Heejoo at the end of episode 11 is for British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the original North American area codes established in 1947 along with 406, the Montana area code the kidnapper's phone used. British Columbia was known as "The Gold Colony" during the gold rush. Before that it was known for it's beautiful forests, mountains, rivers, ocean, and wildlife, including fishing. Much like how our male lead was raised in nature and then abruptly thrust into the life of a wealthy chaebol.
406 and 604 are mirror images of each other. Just like how the areas codes are on opposite sides of the border of two countries with their corners kissing each other. Just like our lead couple.

Hong Hee-joo, who didn't even make a sound when a dog was about to attack her, sang a lullaby to comfort a crying baby.

okay so the real baek saeon is the kidnapper while park dojae is one of the twins. THIS IS INSANE
yall walk with me here. i think park do jae (the assistant) is the real baek saeon while the real 406 (kidnapper) is his accomplice. remember in episode 3, the kidnapper was talking to a “Master” about the office fire/bomb explosion that the kidnapper caused. the “Master” told the kidnapper not to act alone from then on.

These are the three most romantic lines of the whole episode (to me)
I like feeling your heartbeat
2. There's nowhere to hide except behind me
3. Tell me how to not love you.

When the Phone Rings - Fanfic Master list
I don't know about anyone else, but this show has me in an absolute chokehold already. Literally only two episodes in and I am praying they don't fuck it up and also that they absolutely fuck each other up.
Either way, I'm desperate for fanfic showcasing how absolutely gone these idiots are for each other. And also a few paragraphs specifically about Beak Sa Eon's HANDS.
(Please note these are only english fanfics, sorry!)

that one time i got hooked on a kdrama, the south korean president has unreasonably imposed martial law on the whole country 😹
fr tho, i hope everyone is safe, especially the women and children. i can’t imagine the fear going through their minds right now. i’m from a country who also went through martial law that soon turned into a dictatorship. i didn’t experience it personally, but the effects are still felt today
#pray for south korea#south korea#martial law#when the phone rings#excuse this post this was literally my first thought

I hate how acknowledging unfairness in the world is seen as "childish". Maybe children are right. I don't think you should be proud of the fact that you've become complacent with the state of your miserable existence and took on this loser "it is what it is" mentality. Things can be better.

That part when Sae Eon asks " just to stay next to him quietly" and asks her "is it that hard?" feels so controlling at the first watch, but then watching it knowing he has had a huge crush on her for 20 freaking years, makes that line feel so yearning and makes me go crazy early in the morning.
