Connected to the monitors and on the new ventilator!
Specs here for those that are actually interested are: Main monitor is a Philips Intellivue MP50, it has an Intellivue X2 acting as the measurement input in companion mode. There is also a Masimo radical 7 providing Masimo rainbow SPO2 and sending that data to the MP50 over VueLink. The MP50 is tracking 5 lead ECG, Non invasive blood pressure (cuff on my thigh), rectal temperature, skin temperature, respiratory waveform and rate, and SPO2. The ventilator is a Philips Respironics V60 and the circuit I’m using is a single limb active circuit. I bought yet another Vuelink module that I really hope works to receive data from the V60 on the MP50.

Chloe was brought into the ER with shortness of breath. Given her history of asthma, she was quickly admitted and placed on oxygen. Her vitals were monitored closely over the next few hours.
During the night, her oxygen level drops. Within a matter of minutes, she falls into cardiac arrest. A code is called and her room soon fills with staff as resuscitation efforts begin on the young woman.
“Start CPR!” Chloe’s hospital gown is pulled down and compressions are started on her petite chest.
“No breath sounds! Starting air!” The room is frantic, making every effort to bring the young girl back. A ambu breather is sealed over her face. Her chest rising with each rush of air.
“Breathe Chloe!”
“Still nothing! Keep bagging her!”
A stethoscope is moved across her bare chest as rescue breathing is continued.
“Come back to us!”
While CPR continues, her monitor begins to beep rapidly as her heart falls into fibrillation.
“She’s in vfib! Get ready to shock her at 200!”
Chest compressions are paused and the paddies are placed on her chest.
“Clear!”
As her body crashes back to the bed, her heart does not settle.
“Shock again at 250! Clear!”
Chloe’s eyes open with the shock as she gasps for air.
“Chloe! It’s ok!” The doctor yells.
“Where am I? What happened!?” Chloe cries. Her confusion and fear masking the pain in her chest.
“You’re in the hospital. You went into cardiac arrest and we had to revive you. You’re ok now.” She is told as she is calmed down.
She is covered up and comforted. Her life and death struggle over for now.
