READCOMPRE TIPS
Sections/Kinds of write-ups: Comic strips, poems, short stories, columns, anecdotes, ferry schedule, science news (mixed-up English and Filipino)
Time Limit: 50-60 minutes
Tips: Many people will say na read the question first and I agree bc itll help you determine where to look for the answers; ALAS, this wont work if the question is begging for the overall theme of the write-up, appropriate title, sequence, what-should-have-been's, author's tone, etc.
MAKE SURE TO READ QUICKLY. Reading the first and last two parags wont really help that much. YOU HAVE TO DIGEST THE BODY. TASTE THE FILLING OF THE SANDWICH PARA PAK! Kung sa isang basa keri na, go na. Pero DONT WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE SENSE OF THE STORY. You should move on immediately to the next questions and amap, try to answer the questions directly taken from what uve just read. You can opt to read again the write-up to look for the answers of the questions uve missed, but I suggest moving on to the next article.
Basically, my rule is Read, Answer, Pass and the cycle goes on until masagutan nyo na lahat. I used this method and I swear, mas magma-make sense yung story kapag ganito. Personally, di kasi effective saken yung paulit-ulit mo babasahin. Mas maganda kung iabsorb nyo little by little yung details!!!
As for the type of questions na matatanong sa inyo, marami yung implicit lang. Meaning, you really have to understand figures of speech and context para masagutan mo nang bungga. Marami ring tanong na hypothetical. Tipong fraternal quadruplets na naman ang choices and you have to look for kung sino ang panganay. My tip? TRUST YOUR GUT. Sobrang pede lahat ng choices (esp kung title ang tinatanong) kaya naman i-absorb mo talaga ang thesis at goal ng article. Remember din, there's a huge difference between kasibahan, salawikan, sawikain, at bugtong. Marami ring pinagkaiba ang eksaherasyon at simpleng interjeksyon. Contextually, there's a difference between a child and old beggar. Iba means nila nang panlilimos diba?? Natanong 'to sa batch namin. Tula sya about sa panlilimos which ended tragically kasi nabunggo ata sya then yung tanong ba naman, ano raw age nung persona?? Diba??? Ang daming hanash.
Meron din dong logic kind of questions involving a ferry schedule. And mind u guysz, 1 BUONG PAGE YUNG SCHED filled with the sched of arrival and departure and the availability of ferry tas ang hassle kasi wala sa isang spread yung table at tanong so we really had to flip pages countless times!!!!
Verdict: Di nyo maaaral ReadingCompre. You can only pray na sana madali ang mga articles na mapapatapat sa inyo.

MATH TIPS
Sections: Unequal parts of Algebra, Geom, Trig, Logic, Pre-Calc
Time Limit: 60-70 minutes (not so sure)
Tip: ANSWER THE EASY QUESTIONS FIRST. But before this, calibrate and condition your mind muna. You have to gauge which area of Math can be a weapon. Im speaking like this bc di ako magaling sa Math, ok? Maalam ako yes pero di ako mahusay. Kaya allow me to say na acing Math part involves A LOT OF PRACTICE. Parang awa nyo na, mag-practice kayoooo. Ito kasi regrets ko when it comes to Math. Akala ko kebs na ganyan tas omg, I SHOULD HAVE ALLOTTED MORE TIME na lang masasabi ko. Kaya go practice!!!! Sa mga magagaling na sa Math, hone this strength of yours para mas tumaas upg nyo :--)
Wala ako masyado matandaan na tanong sa Math BUT may tanong don na katulad nung na-review ko the day before UPCAT. Oo madaling imano-mano pero since nareview ko na sya, I was able to take the shortcut sa pagsasagot. Laking menos din non sa oras!!!! And since di ko talaga forte ang Geom, nilikdangan ko muna 'tong part na'to hahahahaha. Sobrang daming triangles!!!!! Ang daming shapes!!!! Hahahahaha. Kaya naman inuna ko yung kapa ko pa.
Verdict: TIME'S YOUR ENEMY HERE. Tanda ko exactly 10 items pa wala kong sagot tapos 15 min na lang!!!!! Dkk. Hahaha. Nasagutan, or should i say sinagutan ko pa rin naman kasi aesthetically speaking, ayaw ko ng may likdang. REVIEW SHORTCUTS AND SHORTENED FORMULAS. Familiarize yourself with the format of the  question para alam nyo na rin gagawin.
I practiced with: the files I’ll soon upload!

SCIENCE TIPS
Sections: Unequal parts of EarthSci, Bio, Chem, Physics (or baka equal sadya pero since mixed-up sila, it gives the illusion na hindi)
Time Limit: 60 minutes (again, I'm not sure)
Tips: HAHAHA. Tawanan nyo na lang muna Science part because boiii, it's all over the place!!!! Expected naman na ganito nga ang Sci part but it had me gagging. Five years of being a SciQuizBee contestant only did so much :((((
Earth Sci??? I suddenly dont know her. Char. Pero kalaban nyo rito is ang napakadaming diagrams!!! Quit focusing on definitions and start working on the logic of many diagrams, maps, cycles, etc. Understand the "why's" of things kasi 1st question don is bakit daw dapat mas ayos na white ang kulay ng roof genan. Third question is bakit daw may seasons ang Earth. First question sa third page ay diagram of rocks tas identify mo kung anong type yon. Next to this involves geologic/fossil diagram/distribution map asking u to identify kung san era raw mga mollusks. Kung tutuusin, these sound easy right???? Pero sobrang intimidating ng UPCAT kaya mapapaisip ka talaga kung tama ba mga ginagawa mo. Hahaha sad.
Bio??? Hu dis?? Haha. Situational ang bio with matching diagrams din minsan. Lengthy questions will suffocate the hell out of you kaya make sure to understand the questions as if your life depends on it. I remember a question involving a life of bacteria ganyan with a diagram pa yun ha and oh boy, I had to apply Algebra (common sense will do pero kung anxious kayo like me, i-compute nyo na rin)
Chem????? Omg hatest science kaya tbh wala akong maipapayo kundi aralin nyo ang mga formulas para pak! Chem really took me aback and I know I failed this part kasi may items don na Grade 12 2nd sem pa lang naituro samen (e 1st sem upcat kaya hays). Situational with matching definition ang chem. Kumbaga you have to be familiar with the words muna before you can perform any computations.
Physics???? THIS I KNOW! Optics, thermodynamics, kinematics, and the like became my weapon bc fav science ko'to. Processes din involved dito kaya naman study the how and why of everything!!!! May mga diagrams din referring to circuits, magnets, and electronics kaya make sure to study these!!
Verdict: Madaling mahirap ang Science. Personally, Chem ang naging sagabal saken para mareview ko three times ang Sci part. SCI PART IS NOT YOUR USUAL "What" questions. It's a test of logic on its own way kaya make sure to review your GENERAL knowledge of things.
I use: Books and modules
Don't rely too much on: Your confidence. READ READ READ!!!!!

LANG PROF TIPS
Sections: 50 English questions + 50 Filipino questions (4 choices all throughout, no "None of the above" choice)
Time Limit: 50-60 minutes (di ko tanda)
Tips: Focus on composition. A lot of items begged for the correct use of words and phrases (contextually, at least), logical sequence, and grammar. Most challenging part saken ang tenses of verb (oo lito pa rin ako when to use had had been, has had been, etc.) I can't remember any spelling items kaya dont focus here masyado. Logical sequencing is a bit tricky rin kaya make sure to have your eyes work fast para kita nyo na agad kung anong words/fragments mauuna. Around three-five items lang vocab and one word na natandaan ko is "caustic." There's that usual context clue na technique but I dont suggest relying too much on this. Have your own sense and meaning of the sentence and then decide. Earlier I mentioned the use of words contextually and what I mean by this is may item ron na ang context ng sentence ay nasa barko ka ganyan tas pili ka ng dalawang pedeng food na pedeng makain ganon. Watching Pirates of the Caribbean helped me on this kaya naman I'll always reiterate this: visual entertainment media really help!!!!
As for the Filipino part, it's supposed to be easier but be careful na rin bc the choices are fraternal quadruplets. Same format lang din sa English pero mas mahaba usually mga sentences. All you have to worry about sa Filipino part is not what if u stumble upon a word na medyo malalim, but what if di na abot sa time kasi sobrang time-consuming ng Fil part.
Final verdict: REVIEW YOUR LANGUAGE PART AS IF IT'S YOUR FINAL WEAPON. Science and Math are relatively less challenging because sabi nga ni Candace sa Mean Girls, wherever you go, math (and yes, science) is just the same. May formula mga yan pero this part does not have any. There's always a rule to follow pero hep hep hep, ang dami ring exemptions!!!!! Also, American English is not the same with British English. Kaya make sure to remove temporarily from your brain cells words such as "towards" and "enrol." STICK WITH YOUR GUT. Choose to read articles na may readability ranging from Grade 9 to Grade 12.In answering the LangProf part, you have to be the most pedantic version of yourself! Maraming UP passers ang hindi qualifiers bc mababa LangProf score nila kaya pls, dont underestimate this part!
Apps/devices I used: Wordsworth bot sa Messenger, 3 new words I write on index cards per day (which went on from June till August lol), movies and books (which u can hopefully use for understanding context), The Guardian articles, and  hemingwayapp.com for you to check the readability of any posts.
Don't rely on: Blog posts from commoners, song lyrics (may instances nga kasi na may "he don't" sa lyrics hahaha), unverified FB pages, and ofc Thought Catalog and the like (bukod sa sobrang plain and cringe-worthy ng mga articles dito, poorly-constructed din sila kaya best to avoid na lang din.)
