I often work on multiple pieces at one time using the same palette and have a "scraped paint" canvas for using leftover paint. These pieces are probably my most intuitive since I don't make any plans whatsoever as to what I plan to paint. Maybe it's hard to explain, but I don't think, "Hmmm, I want to make an abstract.", or a floral landscape, or realistic painting of a horse. It just evolves along the way.

Coming up Tulips

Today's sketches. I'm becoming more confident with the form of the tulips, so my sketches are getting slightly more complicated. The plan is to color these with watercolors in a more delicate ethereal style. Tonight I'm just going to pick out the colors I want to use and practice water to paint ratios, glazing compatibility and brush strokes.

Here's a monochrome digital painting I made of Sophie last year using Clip Studio Paint. I actually got my layers right for once =) I have to say one of the hardest concepts for me to embrace with digital art coming from a traditional art background was layers...I'm so used to painting on one canvas. Using layers felt very awkward, but now I love it. It's nice not to have to start over or repaint!

So-Fi Map (Inktober 2023 Day 5), 10-05-2023 Traditional Pen & Ink Drawing Pandafly Micro-Line Pens Inktober 2023 Prompt: Map + Elftober 2023 Prompt: Flight This turned out to be a fun combo. I tried my best to create a composition with Sophie zooming around in her Air Force mount from Sigmascape V4.0 Savage. I was afraid to go too dark on the map in the background, but now I think I should have gone darker. I'm not fond of the clouds at the top and will probably remove them when I make a full color digital painting of it.

Patch Day!

Happy Patch day FFXIV! I saved up a bunch of trophy crystals so Sophie could rock the new raid with a new GLAM. Almost looks like she belongs in Cyberpunk rather than FF14 =) I'll try for a proper Gpose if I manage to get some time to dedicate to it tonight. Have fun with the new content everyone!
