Lunar Rift Timeline AU: A Found Soul

Author's note: This story takes place before the events of Operation: Crescent Moon Chaos. Also some parts are based off of an RP between me and @sammywolfgirl

Moonkeeper Cookie was flying through a lunar time rift on her Moonstone Embroider, drifting through as if she were in the sea. In her hand was a folder she obtained from a future timeline for business purposes. In her mind, she was thinking about the Cookie she had encountered in that timeline, who called themselves TimeWrender Cookie. They were a rather odd Ruler, coming across as more of some sort of prankster compared to other existing Rulers. Suddenly, a rift opened in front of her, leading her into a forest. Within, she saw a bright, glowing light.

"Hmm?" Moonkeeper Cookie slowly hovered through the rift, the rift closing as she did so. She looked ahead, seeing the light. "What could that be?"

She floated to where the bright light was coming from, deeper and deeper into the forest, and before her was a small shard of light, just as she figured. But there was something about this light shard. It was warm, pleasant, and welcoming, like vanilla. She carefully grabbed the light and used the Moonstone Embroider go open a lunar time rift and went through it.

In the Director's office in the Time Balance Department, Moon Lily Cookie was looking through some papers, sighing sadly to herself. She thought about her friends from her now destroyed timeline, especially him...Pure Vanilla Cookie...

"Daydreaming again, are we?"

Moon Lily Cookie turned around and saw Moonkeeper Cookie behind her. "Oh, Moonkeeper Cookie! You scared me!" she said, fluttering her faerie wings in surprise. "I take it things went well in the timeline you went to?"

"My apologies, Moon Lily Cookie," Moonkeeper Cookie said. "And yes, things went well, though I did run into a little...shall we say, trouble, there."

"I saw. The one who called themselves TimeWrender..." A look of worry briefly appeared on Moon Lily Cookie's face. Then she looked at the light in Moonkeeper Cookie's hand. "What's that?"

"Hmm? Oh, you mean this?" Moonkeeper Cookie opened her hand, showing her the light shard she found. "I found it while returning here."

"May I...see it?" Moon Lily Cookie asked.

Moonkeeper Cookie gave her the light shard. Moon Lily Cookie carefully held the shard in her hand, and it started to gently float. "This light shard...it's so soft and warm. It reminds me of Pure Vanilla Cookie..." Then she realized. "...the Pure Vanilla Cookie...from my timeline...!"

"Hmm?"

"Moonkeeper Cookie, I think this light shard might be a piece of Pure Vanilla Cookie's soul!"

Moonkeeper Cookie's star filled eyes shrunk in shock. "Really now?"

Moon Lily Cookie nodded. "I know it is. The warmth emanating from his light is the same one I felt whenever I was around him. But...how? My timeline, everyone and everything there, was destroyed!"

"It may be possible that the Pure Vanilla Cookie from your timeline used a powerful spell to try to protect himself and the other Ancient Heroes, but instead, caused his soul to be scattered across time."

"So if Pure Vanilla Cookie's soul has been scattered across time...then that means...", Moon Lily Cookie gasped. "The souls of my friends must be scattered across time as well! And that means I can bring them back!"

"Shall I assist you on your quest?" Moonkeeper Cookie asked.

Moon Lily Cookie smiled and nodded. She used her Moon Lily staff to open a lunar time rift, and the duo went through.

A Fact for all you Director Croissant Fans

I also have an alternate Director Croissant for the Lunar Rift Timeline AU, except this version of her now goes by Moon Crescent Cookie

In her timeline, Moon Lily Cookie is the co-director of the TBD, and the TBD now utilizes Dark Moon Magic instead of technology. There's also a Ruler of the Emphermal Flow in this timeline, and as said before, Moonkeeper pretty much purged herself from existence in that timeline

Operation: Crescent Moon Chaos Aftermath

In a distant timeline, the Blueberry Yogurt Academy lays abandoned with nothing but ghosts, spirits, and wisps floating about the ruins. On the top of the staircase was a large Moonstone, which contained an endless amount of Dark Moon Magic, as well as the soul of the Beast Cookie, Infinite Cream Cookie. Within the Moonstone, the slumbering Beast floated within the sea of magic with nothing but his thoughts and memories of the 3 Cookies he had encountered after being freed from the Dark Side of the Moon, as well as the Cookie who now coveted his Soul Jam. Even within his slumber, he knew he wanted to take revenge on those 3 Cookies, and he wanted his Soul Jam back as well. He just needed to find a way how. In his sleep, he saw an image in the magic sea. A memory, perhaps? It was, and it was of two young Cookies, one of which he recognized as the Cookie who freed him from his prison, but also the Cookie who stopped him from reclaiming his Soul Jam. These two Cookies were trying to bake the perfect Cookie, but their efforts proved to be useless. The slumbering Beast was bored by this, and the image vanished. Another one appeared in front of Infinite Cream Cookie, but unlike the first one, this particular memory caught his attention. The image showed the young Cookie, known as White Lily Cookie, using Dark Moon Magic to continue her experiment to create the perfect Cookie, only for the Dimensional Portal to be opened up and the spirits within it coming out and transforming everyone into spirits as well. The image vanished, and Infinite Cream Cookie returned to his peaceful slumber as he thought to himself. Was the dough she used for the experiments still around? And if so, could he really...? No...it was impossible. A Cookie soul, especially the soul of a Beast Cookie, simply couldn't take over a lump of old dough...could it? It didn't hurt to try. He had to find a way to find the dough while he was still in his slumbering state. Then he realized: the Academy was practically teeming with Dark Moon Magic, and the Moonstone he was imprisoned in was like a sea of the Magic. Maybe he could...

He focused his slumbering mind, and he felt the magic within the Moonstone shift drastically. And the magic outside the Moonstone shifted as well, as if the Academy was moving around him. Good...now all he had to do was use the magic to find the dough. He used his slumbering mind to control the Dark Moon Magic in the Moonstone to try to find an image of where the dough could be. Before he knew it, an image appeared, showing the lump of dough alongside a Cookie cutter in a classroom. Perfect. Now all he had to do was use the magic outside of the Moonstone to bring it to him. Infinite Cream Cookie did so, feeling the Academy shift around him. Like a windy breeze, he felt the dough rolling over to the Moonstone, hearing a slight tapping sound outside of his prison. It must have been the dough, he figured. Now, he just needed a way to get the dough in the Moonstone. But how was that possible? The Moonstone was strong, and that was just a lump of old dough. But then a realization hit him: the dough was filled with Dark Moon Magic as well, thanks to White Lily Cookie and the other Cookie. He could use it to absorb the dough into the Moonstone, but he had to concentrate extremely hard. The dough moved slightly, and it was soon slowly being pulled into the Moonstone. Infinite Cream Cookie couldn't believe that it actually worked! Now all he had to do was completely take over the dough. His slumbering body drifted to the dough, which continued to absorb more Dark Moon Magic. He felt the dough slowly covering him, like a blanket, until everything went black. He felt the dough beginning to take shape thanks to the magic, but there was something he sensed within the dough: two more souls were within the dough, but it was too late, as the Dark Moon Magic completed the process. His new, physical body contained his own soul, as well as the soul of White Lily Cookie and the other Cookie, known as Pure Vanilla Cookie. But it didn't matter. His plan was complete. Now all he had to do was wait until the next crescent moon phase...

Operation: Crescent Moon Chaos Chapter 9

Within the castle of the Constellation Kingdom, Cloudy Constellation Cookie was with Star Clock Cookie in the large Dome Room, collecting herself from the battle. After a few minutes, Moon Lily Cookie, Croissant Cookie, and String Gummy Cookie, entered.

"Welp, we finished fixing the timeline!" Croissant Cookie said.

"I'm glad to see that you're doing ok, Cloudy Constellation Cookie," String Gummy Cookie said.

Moon Lily Cookie gulped and approached Cloudy Constellation Cookie. "Cloudy Constellation Cookie, I deeply apologize for getting you involved in this."

"There is no need to apologize, Moon Lily Cookie," Cloudy Constellation Cookie said. "I am merely glad that you came to my aid."

"You're...not mad at me?"

"Of course I'm not. If anything, I am grateful that I found faithful allies in you."

Moon Lily Cookie smiled. "Thank you, Your Majesty!"

"Anyway, we should be getting back," Croissant Cookie said. "Everyone's probably worried about us."

"Do take care. And should the Beast Cookie return, I will let you know."

"Thanks! We'll see you soon!" Croissant Cookie said as she and the others were about to leave, opening a time rift. "Time travel, woot!"

String Gummy Cookie and Croissant Cookie went through the rift on the Timecraft, with Moon Lily Cookie entering a lunar time rift. Once the rifts closed, Cloudy Constellation Cookie turned to Star Clock Cookie.

"I'll be retreating to my room, Star Clock Cookie," Cloudy Constellation Cookie said.

"Very well, Your Majesty," Star Clock Cookie said.

Cloudy Constellation Cookie hovered out of the room. Once she left, Star Clock Cookie slightly opened her eyes, revealing them to be a bright gold and filled with stars. "I know you two are there. You can come out now."

A lunar time rift and a normal time rift opened in front of the glass dome, revealing none other than Timekeeper Cookie and Moonkeeper Cookie.

"So you have found us!" Timekeeper Cookie said. "Bravo, bravo!"

"To think that a Cookie can use the stars to see into timelines...truly fascinating!" Moonkeeper Cookie said.

"Do you two have a reason for not making yourselves known when those Cookies arrived to the kingdom?" Star Clock Cookie asked.

"Simple: we wished to observe everything that would transpire!" Timekeeper Cookie answered. "I knew that they would succeed!"

"And I am happy that Croissant Cookie managed to build trust with Moon Lily Cookie," Moonkeeper Cookie added. "But String Gummy Cookie..." Moonkeeper Cookie lowered her head.

"Do not worry. String Gummy Cookie will come to trust her. I know you see that, too."

But how long, I wonder...?

"Anyway, I have some...business to tend to!" Timekeeper Cookie chuckled, reverting back to her normal self.

"Ah, as do I," Moonkeeper Cookie agreed.

"You two take care. The stars shall continue to watch you on your journey through time."

"Farewell, dear alter ego!" Timekeeper Cookie said as she used her Sonic Embroider to open a time rift to enter.

Moonkeeper Cookie used her Moonstone Embroider to open a lunar time rift, and she vanished through it as well, the rifts closing. Once they closed, Star Clock Cookie closed her eyes again.

Not even the stars can see the Beast Cookie in his prison...

Operation: Crescent Moon Chaos Chapter 8

The interdimensional monsters began to swarm, surround, and attack the Constellation Kingdom.

"The monsters...they're attacking the kingdom!" Moon Lily Cookie noticed.

"Now this is a very serious time manipulation felony!" Croissant Cookie said.

"We need to contain these monsters!" String Gummy Cookie said sternly.

"Right!"

The trio got to work trying to contain the monsters. With Cloudy Constellation Cookie, she was prepared to fight Infinite Cream Cookie.

"Have at you, Your Majesty!" Infinite Cream Cookie's voice echoed as he used his now awakened Scythe to attack Cloudy Constellation Cookie.

She raised her staff, bringing forth many stars to form a shield to protect her from the attack, but the scythe cut through it like a knife slicing a cake. "What?!"

Infinite Cream Cookie cackled maniacally. "You silly, silly queen! My Dark Moon Magic is at its peak! Your powers are nothing!"

Cloudy Constellation Cookie huffed and raised her staff again, summoning a large Lion Constellation and a Serpent Constellation. "Star Beasts, attack him!"

The Lion Constellation roared loudly and the Serpent Constellation hissed and charged towards Infinite Cream Cookie. Infinite Cream Cookie yawned and casually sliced the Star Beasts with his Scythe. The Star Beasts yowled in pain as they fell.

"HAHAHAHA! Just give up and hand over the Soul Jam, Queenie! I'm obviously more powerful than you!"

"I'd rather turn to stardust than give you my Soul Jam!" Cloudy Constellation Cookie said sternly. "If you want it so badly, why don't you actually fight me for it?!"

"Ooooh, you're challenging me? If that's what you're doing, then I accept!" Infinite Cream Cookie vanished and appeared in front of Cloudy Constellation Cookie and swung his scythe hard enough to send her back flying.

She managed to recover herself and charged at him, but he blocked her with his Scythe. The two continued at it, deciding to take their fight to the skies. Down below, Croissant Cookie and String Gummy Cookie were working together to capture the interdimensional beasts, with Moon Lily Cookie using her staff to summon moon lily roots to try to freeze the monsters in time. However, the beasts easily broke through all of their confines.

"None of our traps are working!" Croissant Cookie groaned.

"These monsters are much more powerful than we thought...," String Gummy Cookie said.

Moon Lily Cookie looked up and saw Cloudy Constellation Cookie and Infinite Cream Cookie fighting, with Infinite Cream Cookie overpowering the Constellation Queen. "And look up there!"

Croissant Cookie and String Gummy Cookie looked up and saw Cloudy Constellation Cookie crashing down towards them.

"Cloudy Constellation Cookie! Are you alright?" Croissant Cookie asked.

"I'm...fine...," Cloudy Constellation Cookie said, coughing jam. "I underestimated that Beast Cookie's strength."

"Oh dear, looks like you don't have any more energy to fight!" Infinite Cream Cookie said mockingly as he hovered down. "Now if you don't mind..." He grabbed Cloudy Constellation Cookie's hand, which held her staff, and tried to take the Soul Jam from it.

Before he could grab it, something happened. Lunar time rifts opened on their own and the beasts disappeared through them.

"Huh?! What's going on?" Croissant Cookie asked.

"The monsters are returning to their home dimensions," Moon Lily Cookie answered.

"No...! No! Does that mean the crescent moon phase is over already?! But I was soooooo close!"

String Gummy Cookie smirked and pointed his String Gummy Blaster at him, firing it and trapping him. "It's over for you, Infinite Cream Cookie."

"Seems you finally caught me...for now...!" Infinite Cream Cookie snickered.

"What do you mean?" Croissant Cookie asked.

"Infinite Cream Cookie is a Beast Cookie, meaning he's only a soul with no real body," Moon Lily Cookie explained. "Because the crescent moon phase is over, he will most likely return to his slumber."

"Ding, ding, ding! You're correct!" Infinite Cream Cookie said. "But since you freed me from the Dark Side of the Moon, I'll have to go back to sleep inside an old Moonstone! And when the next crescent moon phase comes, I'll come back!" He began to fade away, cackling as he did, until nothing but the String Gummy ropes were left. Moon Lily Cookie let out a simple sigh.

"Come on, Moon Lily Cookie, cheer up!" Croissant Cookie said with a smile on her face.

"How can I cheer up when I was the one responsible for this entire mess?" Moon Lily Cookie sighed again. "Croissant Cookie...String Gummy Cookie...I'm so sorry...! I'm sorry to have put you through all of this!" Tears began to roll down her face. "I'm not fit to be a TBD agent!"

Croissant Cookie walked up to her. "Hey, c'mon! It wasn't your fault! You didn't know he even existed! Heck, none of us knew he existed until now!" She placed a hand on Moon Lily Cookie's shoulder. "If anything, we learned about another dangerous time criminal thanks to you. So the next time he comes back, we'll be right by your side!"

Moon Lily Cookie wiped her tears and smiled a bit. "Thank you, Croissant Cookie..."

"Anytime."

String Gummy Cookie cleared his throat. "Anyway, let's get to work fixing this timeline."

"Right."
