The first time she met him was when she tried to distract herself. A harp in her hand, her eyes closed while trying to remember the tune to an old Ylissean folk song.

It was all for naught, of course.

Her head was flashing images of the one thing she couldn’t have. Fate did not turn to her favor in terms of love. If everything else in her life was nearly, if not completely, perfect, why was she not allowed to have him? Why was fate so cruel to let her fall so short?

He was always so persistent about praising her. He’d never stop with the compliments, the extolling of her name in trivial subjects. And all she could do was wonder why.

In her own eyes, she was just a hopeless romantic, clinging onto a man who’d never love her back. And even though she acknowledged her unrequited love, her heart was averse to changing.

With consistent pestering about a lesson for the harp, she had given into the cavalier’s requests, hoping it’d just be another distraction for her frequent sighing and wandering mind. 

Oh boy, how she was wrong.

At first she was a bit frustrated; she had no experience in teaching and he would stop her in between every single note, but after she had really gotten to sit down with him and to really engage in a conversation, she wasn’t even thinking of him anymore; no longer did she think of herself as ‘the one who fell short’.

She found herself to be a bit surprised by the capacities of his own determination, hearing his outstanding progress in just a few days time. The cavalier was no doubt a hard worker, no matter how scatter-brained he appeared. It was a bit unbelievable, but Cordelia started to feel distant from her constant nagging heart, from those feelings that would cling onto her.

When they played their last duet, she was filled with this overwhelming happiness, for reasons more than one. Seeing his happy face alone brought a smile to her own lips as well. Funny, how contagious happiness could be.

All of her heartache was just.. gone, away with the fading vibrations of the harp strings. She no longer felt an unending pain in her heart for a man who would never love her.

And when he showed her the ring, by gods, she was speechless, and for some reason, she hesitated, although her mind was pushing her to accept. She knew she’d be happier with him; she knew she’d live a free life next to him.

As he put the ring away, she stopped him, almost urgently, taking it back with a smile and slipping it onto her own fingers, proclaiming her love for him, throwing away her now forgotten feelings for the prince. 

Cordelia was in paradise, she was free from the torture from within, all because of him.

Stahl

He can’t do any unsupervised grocery shopping or he’ll end up buying everything in the store. He also likes getting all the samples in the store. 

He would be a stay at home dad while his partner would be at work.

He always likes keeping the air conditioner on 

He loves having fluffy pillows on his bed

When he cooks, he makes a huge mess in the kitchen

Cordelia

She loves making a homemade dinner for her partner. She feels when she gets home from work, she wants to make them a welcoming dinner for them

She loves hot bubble baths

She uses the netflix more than her partner on her off-time

Before she goes to bed, she reads a little bit, and she sometimes stays up much longer than she anticipates

She eats organic food
