she  would  be  a  LOT  happier  to  hear  his  voice  if  it  wasn’t  too  late.    alicia  knew  tyler  would  eventually  find  her,  but  didn't  anticipate  the  idiots  holding  her  would  panic  the  way  they  did  upon  his  arrival,  resulting  on  such  a  terrible  stab  wound.    even  she  could  have  done  this  better  — -  they  weren’t  even  good  enough  to  KILL  her  for  good,  instead  she’s  sitting  on  top  of  a  pool  of  her  own  blood  while  the  only  thing  keeping  her  awake  is  the  fact  that  she’s  thinking  of  how  to  care  for  her  own  injury.    funny  enough,  the  one  person  close  enough  to  have  taken  care  of  this  is  herself  and  she  can’t  even  do  anything.

she  lets  out  a  breath  and  hangs  her  head  a  little.    she’s  failing  on  her  task  to  stay  awake,  hearing  his  voice  brought  such  a  relief  that  wasn’t  what  she  needed  right  now.    she  ignores  everything  he’s  said  once  he  approaches,  however.    ❝  tyler  whatever  you  do  don’t  pull  the  knife  out,  okay?  it’ll…  kill  me.  ❞    and  with  his  background,  he  knows  this,  but  right  now  she  can’t  think  much.    ❝  i  knew  you  would  find  me…  ❞

no   .   no   .      NO   .      this   can’t   be   happening   .   every   part   of   him   just   wants   to   curl   his   arms   around   her   and   hold   her   tight   to   his   chest   .   tyler   rake   wants   to   BREAK   DOWN   ,   but   that   isn’t   going   to   help   anything   ,   most   of   all   HER      .      his   mission   from   the   start   was   clear   .   find   her   .   kill   everyone   who   had   anything   to   do   with   this   .   if   they   want   him   they   go   after   HIM   ,   not   his   wife   .      FUCK   .      the   assholes   went   out   the   back   door   but   not   before   stabbing   her   and   leaving   her   for   dead   .   they   know   tyler   would   have   a   choice   to   make   .      that   decision   is   easy   .   

she’s   the   one   injured   and   she’s   also   the   one   telling   him   how   to   save   her   .   of   course   she   is   still   being   bossy   while   in   this   state   .   there’s   tears   at   the   edges   of   his   eyes   as   his   hands   lift   to   her   face   ,   a   sappy   smile   at   her   confidence   that   he   would   come   for   her   .   ❝      of   course   ,   i   did   .   i   lost   you   once   m’not   doin’   it   again   .   .❞   tyler   reaches   around   her   to   support   her   weight   with   both   arms   .   ❝      c’mon   baby   .   we   gotta   get   you   outta   here   .      ❞

𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐓𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐌𝐄 𝐆𝐎 👀.

okay so i got like, three books delivered this week, and in anticipation i reread another book that i had, and lads, let me tell ye, it was like quicksand. so now i have a list, some from my head, many from my wonderful friends’ heads, of prompts that basically made us all very soft or very “pleasantly scandalized rich lady from the sixties who just found out a juicy bit of goss about the new neighbor”. i hope ye like them! (DO NOT ADD TO THE LIST. I WILL MAKE A PART TWO. AND THREE. AND FOUR. MANY MANY PARTS. EVENTUALLY. )

[ HAIR ]:          sender slowly reaches out to catch a loose strand of the receiver’s hair and tuck it gently and securely back behind their ear, letting their touch linger afterwards. (if the receiver has short hair, then the sender reaches out and gently runs their fingers through their hair to smooth it back.)

[ CLOSE ]:          while standing remarkably close to one another, the sender is unable to stop themselves from running their gaze across the receiver’s body, lingering for a moment on their lips, before returning to initiate prolonged, intense eye contact.

[ CHIN ]:          as they stand close to one another, the sender hooks a finger and tenderly lifts the receiver’s chin, tilting it up so that they can look at one another, and running a thumb across their skin lightly.

[ THUMB ]:          while cupping the receiver’s cheek in their hand, the sender slowly glides their thumb across their cheekbone in a tender, sweeping caress.

[ WOUND ]:          upon noticing a recent injury on the receiver’s person, the sender carefully moves closer, running a thumb (or hand) across the wound in a gentle, troubled manner.

[ INHALE ]:          while standing in very close quarters to the receiver, the sender shakily inhales with desire/anticipation as they realize how intimately close they are to one another.

[ DANCE ]:          when alone together (e.g. the bedroom, the kitchen, literally anywhere once they’re alone) the sender takes the receiver’s hand, and pulls them into a graceful yet intimate dance as a spontaneous act.

[ BARE ]:          as they get undressed, the sender gently places a soft, tender kiss against the receiver’s bare shoulder.

[ SCAR ]:          noticing a scar on the receiver’s skin, the sender tentatively stops them from covering it up, and rests a gentle, soft kiss over it.

[ FOREHEAD ]:          placing a hand on the back of the receiver’s neck, the sender guides them close and rests their foreheads together.

[ PALM ]:          taking the receiver’s hand, the sender brings it to their mouth, and places a tender kiss against the receiver’s palm.

[ LINGER ]:          taking the receiver’s hand, the sender lifts it to their lips, and gently kisses their knuckles, lingering for a moment before withdrawing.

[ BEHIND ]:         upon entering the same room as the receiver, the sender steps behind them, and winds their arms around the receiver’s waist, drawing them close against them.

[ WAIT ]:          realizing the receiver is about to leave the room, the sender hastily reaches out and catches their wrist, preventing them from continuing their departure.

[ ARM ]:          after holding their hand, the sender releases the receiver, but slowly glides their hand up the full length of their arm, lingering on the upper arm, then the shoulder, then resting their touch against the side of their neck.

[ HOLD ]:          while close to the receiver, the sender wordlessly takes a hold of their hand, for no other purpose than to be holding it.

[ PLAY ]:          while sitting together, the sender absently lifts the receiver’s hand, idly running their fingertips across the lines of their palms, mapping out every inch of their hand with slow, lazy touches.

[ GUIDE ]:          in the process of guiding the receiver through a crowded place, the sender’s hand protectively grazes against the small of their back

[ TOUCH ]:          while touching the receiver’s waist, the sender’s hand briefly dips beneath the hem of their shirt, skimming briefly across the bare skin of their waist.

[ CUP ]:           bringing both hands up to cup the receiver’s face, the sender draws them in closer to them in order to get a better look at their face.

[ TUG ]:          the sender tugs the receiver close against them by resting a hand against the small of their back, pulling them flush against their body.

[ HUSH ]:          while standing close to one another and hiding from pursuers, the sender reaches up and places a finger against the receiver’s lips to prevent them from speaking and revealing their location.

a  long  pause  following  his  words,  a  battle  going  on  inside  her  head  as  she  tries  to  decide  what  to  say  next.    not  that  she’s  afraid,  she  would  never  be  afraid  of  tyler.    but  she  knows  she  doesn’t  want  to  drag  this  any  longer  than  it  has  already  been  dragged  on.    this  conversation  is  not  going  to  go  anywhere  — -  or  so  she  thinks.    ❝  are  you  taking  ALL  the  medications  you  were  prescribed?  will  i  have  to  send  in  a  nurse  to  check  up  on  you  every  day?  you  literally  died  a  few  times,  i  would  consider  being  more  cautious  with  these.  ❞    the  question  was  just  a  courtesy   (  and  an  attempt  to  ignore  the  personal  questions  thrown  her  way  ).    from  the  test  results,  she  KNEW  he  wasn’t  taking  everything  he  should  be.

❝  tyler,  how  is  my  relationship  status  relevant?  ❞    the  look  on  his  face  was  enough  of  an  indication  to  tell  her  he  wouldn’t  let  this  drop,  so  she  might  as  well  give  him  what  he  wants.    ❝  really  it’s…  this  is  not  going  to  work.  ❞    alicia  takes  a  step  back,  eyes  focusing  back  on  the  papers  she  had  been  reading  before.

tyler   hasn’t   ever   really   been   the   type   to   be   jealous   or   possessive   since   alicia   always   stated   so   clearly   and   truthfully   about   what   she   always   wanted   .   a   lot   of   it   the   reason   why   he   had   loved   her   so   much   .   she’s   independent   and   knows   what   she   wanted   out   of   life   .   ambitious   is   an   understatement   .      he   has   no   right   to   her   or   the   knowledge   of   what   she   does   with   her   life   .   not   since   he   signed   his   name   to   those   divorce   papers   all   that   time   ago   .   surely   ,   she’s   read   his   chart   .   how   pain   medications   aren’t   really   recommended   for   someone   who   ABUSES   them   .   all   the   others   are   just   one   more   thing   for   him   to   remember   .   his   recovery   is   going   to   be   a   long   one   as   it   is   .   

❝      since   yer   askin’   then   i’m   sure   ya   know   the   answer   to   that   .   ❞   he   responds   with   a   half   smile   .   he   knows   he   can   be   a   real   pain   in   the   ass   .         of   course   he   won’t   let   it   drop   .   she’s   here   for   a   reason   isn’t   she   ??      his   norse   ancestors   had   believed   in   fate   so   badly   ,   would   it   be   such   a   bad   thing   to   think   that   they   had   been   brought   here   for   a   reason   .   she   could   have   denied   being   his   doctor   .   she   couldn’t   have   been   blamed   for   that   .   ❝      what   ??      you   bein’   my   doctor   or   somethin   ‘      else   ??   ❞

those tyler rake lumberjack vibes though.  where he moves out to somewhere with mountains! but almost like those Kratos in God of War vibes when he finally lets the past go and winds up having another kid . ( except in my case where @soughtfaith​ and i gave him and his wife triplets after they got back together and remarried. )

an  over  exaggerated  gasp  leaves  her  lips  right  before  alicia  burst  into  a  laugh,  eyes  wide  as  she  stares  at  tyler.    she  hadn’t  expected  such  a  response  and  obviously,  knew  it  was  a  joke.    but  who  was  she  if  she  didn’t  tease  back?    ❝  really?   guess  i’m  a  single  woman  again  now.  y’KNOW  i  love  my  job  too  much…  ❞    she  shrugs,  but  doesn’t  move  from  where  she  is.    there’s  absolutely  no  way  this  woman  is  letting  him  go  once  again,  it’s  almost  ridiculous  to  joke  about  them  being  apart  once  more.    alicia  lets  her  right  hand  slowly  travel  down  his  chest,  coming  to  rest  on  his  side,  fingers  playing  with  the  hem  of  his  boxers.    ❝  it’s  impossible  for  me  not  to  worry  and  you  know  it.  besides,  i  haven’t  taken  time  off  from  work  in  a  very  long  while…    ❞    she  rests  her  chin  back  against  his  chest,  eyes  studying  his  features  for  the  brief  moment  she  can  before  she’s  easily  moved  around  in  bed.    she  bites  down  onto  her  bottom  lip,  deciding  that  after  this  amount  of  teasing  he  doesn’t  deserve  to  hear  how  much  she’s  liking  this.    still,  alicia  grabs  a  fist  full  of  his  hair  when  he  starts  kissing  her  neck,  pulling  at  it  to  make  him  look  at  her.    ❝  but  if  that’s  what  i  get  every  time  i  try  to  talk  about  work,  then  i  guess  i  WON’T  stop.  ❞    she  shrugs,  wrapping  her  legs  around  his  middle  to  pull  him  closer  to  her,  craving  that  contact.

how   he   could   have   ever   let   her   go   is   beyond   him   .   still   he   overthinks   and   analyzes   what   could   have   gone   differently   but   in   the   end   ,   things   ended   up   the   way   they   were   meant   to   .   not   that   he   believes   in   fate   and   destiny   ,   but   she   was   always   meant   to   be   his   wife   .   he   was   just   too   stupid   to   see   it   .   not   that   it   matters   now   with   her   comfortably   snuggled   beneath   his   large   body   ,   but   he’ll   spend   the   rest   of   his   life   making   up   his   past   mistakes   .   tyler   scoffs   at   her   tease   ,   even   if   he   brought   it   up   it   is   still   a   little   too   soon   to   be   making   such   jokes.   way   to   go   ,   rake   .   his   lips   don’t   move   from   her   skin   though   .   a   tug   of   his   hair   is   the   only   interruption   he’ll   allow   and   blue   eyes   stare   up   at   her   shaking   his   head   .   ❝      you’ll   get   this   regardless   .   ❞   a   huff   of   laughter   and   back   to   work   he   goes   letting   his   lips   caress   the   softness   of   her   skin   over   her   chest   and   torso   even   as   she   pulls   him   closer   with   her   legs   .   fingers   gently   begin   to   lift   the   hem   of   her   tiny   tanktop   for   that   ultimate   skin   contact   but   mostly   allowing   his   tongue   to   taste   her   delicate   skin   .   never   again   will   he   allow   himself   to   take   her   for   granted   .   let   her   talk   about   work   all   she   wishes   as   long   as   she   stays   in   this   bed   with   him   .
