I have the prologue and first chapter still, and the original layout of the plot, so I'm going to rework it after so long of not touching the damn thing with a ten foot pole

I realise I've never actually introduced myself on here, so hey there, welcome to my blog :)

My name is TRees, I go by she/her pronouns, I'm queer and autistic, and I'm writing a book!

The book is called Soulbound! It's my current pride and joy (despite me being only about a quarter of the way through TvT)

I'm not quite sure what genre it falls into, but it has a bunch of fun tropes like enemies to friends to lovers, opposites attract, and a shit ton of warm and wholesome family vibes with flower imagery plastered across the place!

Ironically enough despite being a writer I have no idea how to word this intro TvT so I'll let the summary speak for itself

"28-year-old author Laurel Alderidge is murdered and buried in another man’s grave by his murderer. In the afterlife, the two are now attached to one another by an unbreakable thread. They’ve also discovered that they really don’t like one another. Their solution to this problem? Go back as ghosts, for the sole purpose of convincing the murderer to dig up and re-bury his victim’s body in another place, so that they’re no longer stuck together for all of eternity. But by the end, will they go their separate ways as they planned, or will they stay together for the rest of eternity, this time out of choice?"

Never in my life have I been in control of my story

I set out an outline and I start writing the chapter and suddenly what was supposed to be a filler chapter turns into a backstory for two characters and a revelation for another two and a cute moment between anither two and I may need to split chapter 6 in two to be able to cover all I want to cover TvT

I love these characters but they get away from me so easily I need to put them in those baby leashes with the harnesses that you put on toddlers so they dont run off and bite someone I stg

people who think writers are in control of the story clearly have never spoken to a writer

Several pages into the chapter titled the coffee shot and I'm finally starting to talk about the coffee shot fr

Its literally Laurel's pride and joy I'm going to get to ramble so much about this I'm practically pitching a second book here

Meanwhile the living boys are having a heart to heart and Hugo is my favourite literary himbo

Also Beck being compared to animals all the time is quite fun imo I love my little wet cat baby he is the skrunkly

I love writing soulbound so much specifically for the parts where I get to describe magical-feeling environments. I'm going the greenhouse scene atm and getting to have Beck turn to different places and see pretty things that exude life makes me feel so !!! Happy its great

And you get to see their reaction at the beautiful words you're spouting from your mouth that would usually ruin this entirely

But now you've thought about all the good things beforehand and can come across as eloquent and deep and smart instead of bumbling and silly and stuttery like you usually are

It's the perfect plan
