The final product of my senior thesis installed in the SDMA. The show, entitled Back-Stories: Care, Labor, and the Body was up from December 6th-16th. Here is a short video walk around of the central piece.

“Back-Stories: Care, Labor, and the Body is a communal investigation of care-work and somatic* experiential intelligence. Each week, I gathered with a group of friends, artists, writers, and community organizers in my home, to imagine new definitions of labor based in care and embodiment. The heart of this work is to engage people physically in the process of theorizing a new social paradigm; attending to the beauty of the labor we all do in the name of care, the difficulty of communicating pain and truths held in our bodies, and the challenge of proving the value and credibility of both.”
