done because I’ve received a few requests for a drawing process vid...which haha... I hope its helpful? somehow? sometimes I am more organized with how I segment limbs / flatten layers and stuff but that is NOT what is happening here lol

sketch + layer breakdown for [this post]

if it isn’t obvious with this, I’m not the kind to work with just one layer for lines,  one layer for colors and one layer for values. I use a copious amount of lasso > cut/copy > move to chop characters up into parts and to shift them around minutely.

My process most resembles that of a collage artist, in which I will draw each separate limb or section > fill the flat colors > merge, then draw the overlapping part above or under it > fill the flat colors > merge.

This is mainly because I just tend to miss the forest for the trees and I’m not good at keeping track of the overall image composition, so my process allows me to zoom right into the problem sections- to completely delete and redraw it if needed (which I did with JC’s hand) without affecting the overall image.

crackship or not, qijiu is still more of an answer as opposed to "yqy is a cuck/ntr so it's always yqy x unhappiness 24/7" so (not that i can't see or disagree with it but) THANK YOU. but also -- i have to ask, do you regularly peruse the svsss ao3 tag?? or mayb on lofter (i can't read, but i will try sddkjj)? if so, you got any qijiu fic recs? or at least given the nature of the entire book, any other "crackships but not rlly" ships you got for sv?

aww man.... I get NOTPs but I don't get being hateful to a character just because they break up your OTP or preferred ships. YQY is a complex and pretty compelling guy imo, he just had the misfortune of being cast as a love rival to Binghe in the crackfic chick flick that is SVSSS.

As for your second q- I don't browse series tags because of the high chance I'd get NOTP-whammied, I browse pairing tags and usually only for my OTP and not sidepairs. My preferred pair for SVSSS is actually BingLiu (I like their spiciness) but I haven't browsed their tag in ages.

Mainly because that specific itch I had for ScumV stuff is now being scratched by 2Ha haha. (there's some weird connection between the giggles BingLiu gives me and the giggles TXJ+Mo Ran/CWN gives me- I don't know how to explain it) I don't really have any recs for 2Ha tbh because...a) there isn't really much fics that get into the juicier 2Ha stuff that tickle my brain b) 2Ha is just so good that its hard to achieve that same level of immersion in fics :(

I kinda like QiJiu? Because they’re kinda like a parody pair of Xiyao (or prototype to be more accurate lol) where MXTX took their worst traits (LXC’s Lan tendency to be a simp and JGY’s deep hidden core of bitter resentment) and made it their entire personality, to the point where they’re more of a hilarious on-again off-again trainwreck reality show couple rather than an extreme angst, mostly pain and a few fleeting moments of sweetness pair.

Regarding the ZhenYi / YiZhen question, their ship is based on their romantic stories that they read (Romantic boys together making mischief to play cupid with their ships), and their "fanon" crush for Sizhui's dads.

If you can/want to draw them... I would appreciate it. There really aren't much of them together, but it's a fluff ship that just makes you laugh always 💖
