“If you’re going out for a fancy dinner, later you better bring me something back, something good. I’m talking steak with the whole works. Unless it’s one of those places where the food’s tiny and served on slate or somethin’ equally dumb. Then you should just kill the guy immediately because he’s obviously a pretentious idiot, and I’ll order take out.”

“Well, I didn’t want to say anything, but I did notice a couple of grey hairs starting to appear...” she deadpanned, the glint in her eyes the only sign she was teasing as she lifted a hand to his hair as if to look for the grey strands in question. 

“How about I just kill him, steal his credit card, and then give you a call and we can go some place fancy for dinner?” she suggested, laughing for a moment before she sighed, expression falling just a little. “Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to stick it out. At least until dessert. I’ll bring you back what I can, though, but I can’t promise an entire steak.”
