“No one is coming to save you.” I disagree ! I believe many people made up of many small moments come to save pieces of you , even if just briefly. The mentor who believed in you . The friend who said they’re proud of you. The family member that makes you laugh . The random person who held the door for you out of nothing but kindness. The teacher who took extra time to help you understand. The person who smiled at you when you walked into a store. The little kid who looks up to you. The person who randomly complimented you. Being “saved” isn’t about being whisked away and all your hardships gone, it’s about the people and things that remind you life is not all hardships, it is kindness, love, gentleness, softness, care, thoughtfulness. It is many moments made up of your lifetime that keeps you going and showing you the world is still beautiful, and will always be. Despite.

ARHGHG. piers nivans. something something tragic character he makes me SICK i need to talk about him.

there is something WRONG with that guy. im thinking about the elevator scene (NOT the one with the crazy tension between him and jake.. sorry mullvans fans. maybe next post.) where chris admits that he wants piers to take his place and he wants to retire. piers's instant reaction to this is that he isn't ready and chris can't leave.

except - he is ready. he's pretty much held that postion, albeit temporarily, the entire time chris has been gone. a month after losing his entire team and his captain and a bsaa officer says he's doing an "excellent job" and that he wouldn't mind making piers "alpha team's permanent captain." he has the capabilities to take chris's place, but he's holding himself back.

this guy has a CRAZY level of imposter syndrome that it kills me. he's beyond capable on his own - so much so that he caught chris's attention and got recruited when he was 23 and has, in 2 years, made it up to chris's second in command. he's insanely capable and has proven to be capable of everything he claims he isn't.

i think that, despite everything, piers likes to have that safety blanket. even if it's just barely there, or if he doesn't need it, he likes to have someone to fall back on in case of everything else. he can't be top of the command because something about that freaks him out. and it makes me SICKKKKK. ughhg. he's the only thing holding himself back from so much more.
