Fic number tag game

I do not purport to have that many fics, so stats between them are not even all that large, but this is fun nonetheless! rules: give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words (feel free to interpret however you would like; if not on AO3, can be on Tumblr or FFNET!). Most hits: Time and Space (For All Mankind, Margo x Sergei) Margo and Sergei hook up the first night they meet and then a whole lot more, and I cringe in extreme embarrassment at this story which I would no longer write and which has the highest hits and comments of anything I have written. Second most kudos: Promise (Star Trek Voyager, Janeway x Chakotay) Janeway returns from her time kidnapped on Quarra conflicted about her feelings for Jaffen and distantly, Mark. She's keeping Chakotay at arm's length. Oh and did I mention? They are in an established, secret relationship. Also I have no idea how this totally weird, angsty take on an episode that is loathed by J/C shippers got so many kudos, but hey. Nifty.

Third most comments: 12:01 (For All Mankind, Margo x Sergei) A season 4 canon divergence in which Margo and Sergei find their way towards Brazil and each other. A fic that is so near and dear to my heart, as writing it was my post S4 therapy. Fourth most bookmarks: see above Fifth most words: While she's so busy being free (For All Mankind, Margo x Molly, Margo x Sergei, Wayne x Molly) How Margo, Molly, Sergei, and Wayne navigate the linear polycule that forms between them, starting at 2.08 (mid-Apollo-Soyuz). This is my actual baby, and it is like, my least read/commented on fic, so I guess what do I know? That or people really aren't into poly ships lolsob.

Fic with the least words: Constant as a Northern Star (For All Mankind, Margo x Sergei) I forgot about this little guy! This is a missing scene from the 91 IAC, pre-elevator ride (iykyk). Also until we get electoral reform (which will be never), I think more of us need to volunteer with Cooperate for Canada and/or other organizations that support strategic voting.

Too many voters do not understand what this means, and I watched my hometown (alongside many other ridings) go Conservative when the Liberal, NDP, and Green vote combined would have CRUSHED the Con candidate.

I've done some reflecting on the 2025 Canadian election.

I'm beyond happy that the Conservatives did not win. I am thrilled that Pollievre lost in his own riding.

But this all feels like it came at a heavy price.

The NDP has lost party status. The Conservatives have won over more seats where vote splitting occurred between the NDP and Liberals.

This election has highlighted two major issues to me:

1. The NDP needs a major shakeup. I feel like they've been asleep at the wheel for a long time. I like Singh, but I'm glad to see him step down. As someone who has voted NDP in the last several elections, I hope this election is a wake-up call for them.

2. We desperately need electoral reform.

As I said last night, now is the time to get politically active. I will be sending my MP a letter with what I expect of them over this term. I highly recommend you do the same.

So basically today’s the Canadian federal election, if you didn’t know. The current conservative candidate’s riding had SO many randos running independently just to protest our current electoral system (Google “first past the post Canada” it fucking SUCKS), and Polièvre is so unpopular that he’s still getting obliterated in the polls.

Like the libs are just conservative lite but I need you to understand this man has a reputation for being the most hated man in parliament. Literally everyone there hates him. There’s a reason Canadians on reddit call him PP.

The 80-odd other people running other than representatives of the main parties (not all of them were in protest, to be clear, but many of them) actually had to change the shape of their ballots and ballot boxes for that one riding. I just watched a news anchor bring up a mock ballet during an interview with one of the protester candidates, and he unfurled it like this:

The conservatives didn't win (thank god), but that doesn't mean we still don't have work to do folks

To my American friends, you have to understand how important this Canadian election is. Pistache is extremely socially regressive and has used a lot of dog whistles (since cat whistles don't exist). I voted for Luzerne, because we need to expand access to catnip-infused stuffies for the working class, but Théodore is favoured to win, as he's seen as a steady paw to guide us through these unpurrecedented times.

Except in Saanich Gulf Islands where the Greens and Cons are neck and neck! And presumably quite a few ridings in Quebec that are Bloc strongholds (and yes, the Bloc are infinitely better than the Cons at least in social policy). Check the polls, check 338 Canada. And get thee to a voting station!

To all my Canadian followers: please go out and vote. If you aren't in a riding with an NDP incumbent, you should vote for the Liberal Party candidate — in a first-past-the-post system, that's the best strategy to keep Conservatives out of power.
