ooc; personality switch
simplified: cold ruthless sociopath masquerading as a warm sunshiney fellow >>> clumsy sociopath that wants to be cold and ruthless but keeps accidentally befriending people because he hasn’t figured out the appropriate level of nice to be
PERSONALITY: As far as any casual acquaintance is concerned, Théo is the best of friends. And he truly is, happy to be of use in any spontaneous situation that may arise. He loves to see smiles, they assure him that people are on his side. He is not, however, kind for kindness’s sake, though he is generally a pretty easygoing guy. Rather, he likes to get into situations in which he can test his powers. He truly believes that he was given powers so that he might use them, but he finds himself getting into a lot of mischief and shenanigans in the process. Much as he would like to be the perfect cold and calculating killer, Théo is more likely than not to botch his plans, relying on his ability to improvise to keep him out of trouble. What this means is that more than one attempted kidnapping has turned into yet another “bestie” that ends up occupying his time with friendly outings in order to keep up the pretense. Théo does not enjoy these outings, not even a little bit, you will never hear him admit that he actually quite liked those fluffy pancakes.
(basically the cuddliest and clumsiest sociopath wannabe murderer)

mpxfelix‌:
“I think only the individual stores have music, so if you’re out in the main parts of the mall it should be fine~ There’s this nice fountain that you could set up by!” Felix suggested, getting very excited about the whole thing. He loved watching people do what they love, so naturally he was excited to see Théo play. “Wow, you’re from France? That’s cool! What’s France like? Is it pretty? Is it a lot different from here?”
The smile that spread across his face when Théo declared that they would be friends could have lit up a stadium with its intensity. “Yeah, we will!” He agreed happily, practically bouncing in place in his excitement. “Of course I’ll take you! I want to listen to you play, anyway~” Naturally, he had to be his new friend’s biggest fan and support his mall playing. Felix alone had the pep of a whole cheer leading squad, after all. “C’mon, let’s go!”
It was very easy to mirror the boy’s enthusiasm, even though Théo himself felt no such pleasure at his company. At best, the boy was amusing and somewhat helpful. It would be enough for Théo to tolerate his presence, at least for a little while. But the unfailing joy and excitement that seemed to spring endlessly from this child made Théo all the more eager to find a way to destroy it. Perhaps Felix could be his new long-term game. It would be difficult; Théo would have to be very smart and very careful. What a delightful puzzle it might be.
“Ouais, France is...quite lovely. And yes, she is very different from this place.” One of the few things about his home that Théo had enjoyed had been the endless fields of flowers. Not another human in sight, and at night it gave a wonderful backdrop for the deadly beauty of his lightning strikes. The wistfulness on Théo‘s face was real, even if it wasn’t for the reason Felix might think. He tried to find it within himself to at least appreciate the boy’s interest in his music, but Théo found even that difficult. Better to play it safe and casual. “Lead the way, mon nouvel ami!”

“Oh, I don’t think it would bother anyone! Who doesn’t like to listen to nice music while they shop, right?” And he had already assumed that this stranger was probably some expert musician– who else would be looking for a place with good acoustics, after all? He did not even really know what acoustics technically were, except for the fact that they made music sound good or something.
“Nice to meet you, Théo! That’s a nice name. Are you from somewhere abroad? I’m from Australia, myself,” he chirped, always excited to meet and get to know someone new. He especially liked meeting people like him, who had grown up in other places– it was fun to having people around with a variety of experiences and stories, after all. “Oh, I’d love to be your friend!” He replied happily, a great big smile spreading across his face. Lee Felix was never one to pass up on the opportunity to make a new friend, and there was no reason that he would start now.
“So should we go to the mall and see if it’s a good place to play?” He would be more than happy to tag along and be his new friend’s cheering fan, naturally. And he could show Théo the amazing candy shop in the mall, too!
“I suppose it will be alright if there is no background music pumped into the mall. Pop music and classical tend to clash, and I tend more towards the classical.” After a few moments of consideration, Théo decided that he did, in fact, want to try playing music at the mall. Worst case scenario, someone will ask him to leave. Best case scenario, he makes some new friends and fans out of his little impromptu concert.
As the boy chattered, Théo couldn’t help but think about how annoying the kid was. There were plenty of kids like him in Théo’s social circle in France, but those ones were even more spoiled and entitled and therefore fell even lower on Théo’s list than this one did. But Felix did seem like the kind of boy to make friends with just about everyone, and someone like that was a good person to have on your side. “I am indeed. I hail from France. Do people still use that word? Hail?” Théo chuckles like he just told a very silly joke before moving on.
“Excellent. From this moment on we will be friends and play games and enjoy each other’s company.” Théo nodded, faking seriousness in a very melodramatic way, like this was a very serious announcement. Then he cracked a smile. “I would love it if you would show me to the mall. It would be quite a treat for me. And perhaps we can find a treat for you as well, as a token of my appreciation!”

mp-zhiwei‌:
“That’s quite the talent to have… It’s very different from mine.” he looked away for a second unsure of how else to continue on with the conversation. Zhiwei might have had conversed with a couple more people now, more than he usually has while being back in China, but that didn’t make it easier.  The shifu was still fairly awkward when it came to things like this however the man was still curious to see what was in the case.
“What makes the perfect place to practice? Does it need to be inside or could it be outside?” he asks softly, his hands behind his back. Zhi wondered if it had to do something with needing peace and quiet or if he other had to be alone to enjoy the practice.  If it was anything like him, he definitely liked the peace and quiet whether in the training room or out in the forest or mountains. A safe space to keep his mind clear.
“Different? How so?” With his sharp eyes and even sharper honed social skills, Théo could tell that this man was becoming awkward, unsure how to carry on the conversation. Luckily, that was one of Théo‘s best skills. It was very hard to be rich and popular without also being well and widely liked by many casual acquaintances. Besides, it was always fun to watch little worms squirm as the lens of the microscope came closer and closer to them, threatening to crush them with its cold and unfeeling lens.
Or something.
“Inside is generally best, somewhere the sound carries well throughout the whole room but doesn’t echo too much. Echoes can throw off the music as you play it. Churches are very good for it, as are theaters. Unfortunately, those kinds of places are not generally open to the public for practice sessions.” Théo chuckled at this, half-covering his mouth with his hand in a polite gesture of humility. “Although an open space with lots of hills or mountains can provide quite a unique experience. Do you know any places like that?”

après le concert; avec sorn
@mpxchonnasornsajakul
The concert was not a terribly unusual one, not uncommon for the pianist centered in the stage, and yet the atmosphere his flying fingers created was a magic that whisked the audience away to world after world. Théo started the concert with a series of solo concertos, some faster, some slower, each flowing elegantly and springing from chord to theme to chord to accented note. Variations on a theme; sweeping crescendos and decrescendos; fingers moving so fast they blur, or so slow that they look like spider’s creeping from bone-white key to bone-white key.
The second half of the concert was purely technical, a series of études that showed off the mastery of Théodore’s skill. He had been seated at a piano since he was old enough to reach the keys, if he didn’t have some amount of mastery by now he would feel shame beyond anything he had ever felt. But no, he was hitting each note with the precision of a surgeon and the concert flew by, just another night for the music student though a night of exceptional entertainment for his audience.
After the concert, during the little reception that always seemed to be held in honor of the musician who had taken them on such a journey, one audience member in particular approached Théodore. She looked young, though was by no means a child. That was just as well; Théo was of the opinion that most children couldn’t appreciate the fine art of piano concertos and études.
“Hello there, dear. I hope very much that you enjoyed my show tonight. Is there something I can do for you?”
Perhaps she wanted an autograph or some such silly nonsense and then she would be on her way.

“They tell you that so you have to go to them for all the answers.”
“That does not seem like it would be good for business. Yet, here they are, making atrocious amounts of money. So I suppose it works after all.”
Of all the ridiculous things that expensive brand-name stores did, it was only putting out one single example of an item of clothing in a size that almost nobody actually wore. What that meant was that trying on said item was an entire process of asking for the item in the correct size, having it taken over to the dressing rooms, then having to do the process all over again if the size you asked for turned out not to fit quite right.
“I do not want to ask for their assistance. I want to shop at my leisure,” Théo murmurs with only a hint of his true irritation, low enough that only Callum can hear him.

The pick-pocket hadn’t made a mistake targeting Théo; the man looked like a walking wallet. Growing up in a small French town hadn’t exactly done him many favors in terms of learning how to avoid crime. It had never really been much of an issue though. If a would-be criminal came too close to them, it was half a thought for Théo to send a sizable spark from his bare hands to the criminal’s. That usually stopped most crime before it happened to Théo, even naive as he was about city culture. Before he had had to zap the guy, this stranger come to his aid.
And it would behoove him to befriend someone with such obvious physical skills.
“I do indeed,” Théo said with a growing smile as he lifted the little leather flute case. Both instrument and case were of top quality, very expensive and actually a far better target for the pick-pocket than Theo’s wallet. He carried some cash, certainly, but his card companies were on speed dial (at the insistence of his father). If his credit or debit cards were stolen, they would be cancelled or frozen within minutes of their disappearance. “I still haven’t found the perfect practice space, unfortunately.”

mpxfelix‌:
Felix was very conflicted about this whole winter thing. He loved the snow and the holidays and being bundled up inside watching movies, but he also hated the cold. It seemed to him that Mount Phoenix must be the coldest place on earth in the winter, because he could not imagine it being colder anywhere– but maybe that was just his Australian upbringing talking. Sure, he did not remember living in Australia, but it was clear that growing up there had left him unprepared for South Korea’s winters.
But he did not let the cold get him down, bundling up in layers and layers of winter gear whenever he left the house and still trying to enjoy the snow and the holiday cheer. In fact, he had just gotten a hot chocolate and he was wandering around the park, looking at the decorations and the icicles and the general Winter Wonderland-ness of it all. It was nice, although the tip of his nose (the only part of him not covered) was quickly getting cold.
He was just thinking of heading home when someone approached him. He smiled, always happy to make a new friend, and thought on the question for a long moment. “Oh, um… Hm. Maybe you could try the mall? What kind of place are you looking for?” He didn’t know a lot about music or where it would be good to play it, but he was always willing to help out.
“I’m Felix, by the way! What’s your name?”
“Somewhere large with plenty of space, ideally. The mall would be an excellent suggestion, but would I not bother the people shopping there?” It wasn’t that Théo actually minded bothering people so much as that, if he did end up bothering people, that would put them against him. That troubled him insofar as that he liked to have people on his side as often as possible. They were more inclined to help him when they liked him. As his mother had told him frequently when he was much younger, if you treat someone nicely then they are more likely to forgive you for being mean sometimes; if you treat someone badly, they won’t believe that you can be nice. And that meant they would never help him. So kind and considerate he was.
This little child looked to be much the same, though perhaps in a more genuine and sweet way. Maybe this Felix really was just a nice and helpful person. Pitiful, Théo thinks to himself even as his lips remain smiling amiably. Felix might be just the sort of person that Théo would prey on. But for now, he needed Felix’s help. So he needed Felix to like him.
“My name is Théodore, though my friends usually call me Théo.” Hopefully his Korean was actually as clear as he hoped it was, since Théo had such a thick French accent when he spoke other languages that it wasn’t always trivial to understand him in languages that lacked silent letters the way French did. “Would you like to be my friend?” The answer to this question would be the defining feature of Felix’s future as far as Théo was concerned, not that the boy would have any inkling of this. It was the way he held people’s stories in his hands that drew Théo to them like this. Intoxicating.

SENTENCE MEME ⟶ THE WITCHER / 1.07 always feel free to tweak the sentence to fit your muse.
“Where would you be heading, little thief?”
“This place isn’t safe if you’re alone.”
“Then it’s the same as any other place.”
“All this time, I thought you were dead.”
“Have you been hiding your head in the sand?”
“She’s done everything she can to jeep her family safe from threats.”
“Blame destiny.”
“Coming at us now would be right stupid.”
“If you treated me more like a friend than a threat..”
“I can’t be bought.”
“Don’t cast me out on a whim.”
“Who needs you when I’ve got him?”
“We don’t have much, but we’ve got a sight more than you do.”
“We must sacrifice to fulfill destiny.”
“First you try to kill me, then you lie to me.”
“You and destiny can both fuck right off.”
“A dynasty can’t survive on arrogance alone.”
“Your own mother cared so little, she discarded you.”
“You lecture me on a mother’s love yet offer up someone else’s daughter.”
“You’re sentencing her to death.”
“You put too much faith in that woman.”
“Someone who’s able to pull themselves out of that will have my confidence till my final day.”
“I need your promise that you won’t come back.”
“Most kings only care about their cocks and their coffers.”
“The [name] I remember doesn’t miss anyone.”
“It was fun to be wanted, an object of desire.”
“I spent years waiting for this moment where you realized we’re meant for each other.”
“Work saved me.”
“Who the fuck are you?”
“They think you’re rash, unpredictable, and dangerous.”
“I’ll leave this to people who actually give a shit.”
“I’m the one that wants you here.”
“It took five minutes for the lies to start.”
“Why did I expect anything else from a place held together by bullshit?”
“What the hell’s going on in here?”
“I bet you hate botany as much as I did.”
“They tell you that so you have to go to them for all the answers.”
“A word of advice: think for yourselves.”
“Gods, you’re pretty.”
“Whatever you lack in talent, you make up for in confidence.”
“There are far worse things than expulsion.”
“I’ve got so many questions.”
“The ability to create life, they take that from you. Then send you out so the only family, the only loyalty you have, is to them.”
“Just because you fucked up doesn’t mean we will.”
“I don’t care what you do, but remember this.”
“Even if you do everything right, that’s still no guarantee you’ll get what you want.”
“Sometimes you have to compromise in order to survive.”
“I tried finding you for years.”
“How do you know this?”
“That’s the same lie I would tell.”
“You wear your silly costume every chance you get.”
“I am not here to defend them, but I will defend our way of life.”
“Forbidden magic is one of the ghost stories taught to us here.”
“There is no such thing as dark or light magic.”
“Nothing in the world is as simple as that.”
“If you won’t take sides, then at least stay out of our way.”
“Enough of this tiring debate.”
“Let them reap what they sow.”
“I went to a prized kingdom and did fuck all for decades.”
“Maybe it is time for something different.”
“I know you hate this place, but there are girls who need it.”
“Have you ever used that word before?”
“Looks like he’s escaped.”
“If he is out there, then there is still hope for her.”
“What kind of crazy person talks to a horse?”
“You don’t give the orders anymore.”
“I’m sorry for what happened.”
“The only thing special about you was the fucking crown on your head.”

@mpxfelix
“It is quite cold today, non?”
The acoustics in his apartment had been bothering him while practicing his violin, so Théodore had gone out to search for a place that was both warm and relatively empty for him to practice. The practice rooms at the university tended to be constantly in use, and besides, any music played in them tended to be smothered and dull due to the insulation of the soundproofing. They were simply not adequate for the kind of sound he was striving to produce, and so he hadn’t even bothered to put himself on the wait list for use of a room. Why wait when he could go out and find some place better to play, somewhere he could return to?
The idea of practicing outside, perhaps in the park or somewhere, had occurred to Théo, but just walking outside had proven that to be impossible. He couldn’t move his fingers quickly and exactly if they were half frozen. Damn winter and its inconvenience. Though Théo had to admit that what the season took from him in terms of practice spaces it returned to him in the form of festivities and delicious treats.
While walking through the park on the way to yet another part of the city - would the search never end? - Théo came across what appeared to be a friendly little soul. He decided there would be no harm in conscripting the boy’s help in locating a suitable practice environment.
“Would you happen to know of a warmer place where one could play music? I am not fond of the sound it creates in my apartment.”

shine – Valentina makes Theo laugh
“You know, I have heard men say quite a lot of idiotic things in my life, but that must be one of the most idiotic things I have ever heard of. I almost have trouble believing it to be true!”
Théo couldn’t help but burst into laughter after the story. This woman - Valentina, if Théo remembered correctly - had been regaling him with the story of something a very stupid man had said to her one night after performing at her work. She was a burlesque dancer she had said, which meant that she heard all sorts of terrifically stupid things from the mouths of men who had just watched her perform on stage before them. These sorts of pigs were, unfortunately, unavoidable wherever one chose to go. Even in the elite circles of the wealthy that Théo had grown up around there were men like that. He had always hated those men with an almost unparalleled severity. They were neither useful nor interesting, but he had to appeal to them for their social connections anyway. It had been quite a trial of his patience.
“But, unfortunately, it almost certainly is,” Théo says with a little laugh that sounds like it’s comprised of disappointment and a little frustration, but really carries all the weight and fury of Théo‘s personal hatred of those kinds of men. They always acted like they were so entitled. In that sense, the richer they were the worse they tended to be.

nudge – Krystal nudges Theodore (probably on accident because she's a clumsy bean)
When the woman first bumps shoulders with him, a jolt of fury sends a literal jolt of electricity from his body to hers. His face doesn’t change, but Théo decides instantly that he does not like this woman. Perhaps having merely been lightly run into by her isn’t a terribly good reason for it, but since when has Théo had a terribly good reason for anything?
Théo turns to observe the woman, a light, apologetic smile playing on his lips. “Oh, a little static shock! I am so sorry for running into you!” There, hopefully now she will feel guilty enough about it. But she’s already on his bad side whether she knows it or not, and Théo‘s bad side is not a good place to be.

shine – muse a makes muse b laugh (either way works for me^^)
“And that,” Théo’s thick French accent mutilates the words, “is how I ended up with our dog stinking head to toe of lavande, and only then did I found out that the poor think was allergic! He was sneezing for the next week! Maman thought one of my little sisters had caught cold!”
Living side by side with a lavender farm had provided Théo with some decidedly amusing stories, even though he has little use for them personally. When it comes to other people though, they seem to love amusing little anecdotes. It quickly wins them over. That’s the only reason he has bothered to reiterate such a tale now, after all.
The person he has told it to takes a moment to laugh lightly, just the amount that is appropriate for a silly little story. Théo likes that. He hadn’t expected to run into anyone of any particular interest while shopping around at his favorite stores, but this person is both around Théo’s age and wearing clothes that speak of wealth similar to that which Théo himself comes from. Although it is a little strange that this boy is staring at the clothing in the window like he could melt the glass with his gaze. No matter. Perhaps they could be friends, he had thought. Friends are always useful.
“Désolé, I do not believe I introduced myself. I am Théodore. What is your name?”
