nettles just added more evidence to my “willoughby tucker died in service theory” !!

i have a theory that willoughby tucker died in the military, and that the guy from american teenager (“neighbors brother came home in a box, but he wanted to go so maybe it was his fault”) is him. dust bowl is also supposed to be on WTIALY, so i’m guessing dust bowl is about willoughby. and dust bowl gives me the idea he enlisted. “smoking that shit your daddy smoked in vietnam” and then “you’d be writer if he didn’t leave all his hell for you,” reminds me of a military family with that expectation or pressure to enlist, specifically from willoughby’s father.

and now listening to nettles again knowing its going to be on the album and hearing the talk about shrapnel (“when that plant blew up, a piece of shrapnel flew and slowed that pare of you, the doctors gave you until the end of the night, but not til’ daylight”) PLUSSS “you’ll fight a war, i’ll go missing,” like you can’t get more straight up than that.

they might also be metaphors that my autistic ass is missing but idk it seems to work out pretty well. also pleaseee give me your thoughts and opinions i really want someone to talk about this with, my friends are sick and tired of me talking about ethel cain. 🙏🙏
