While I've been invested and way too fucking obsessed with Undertale and Deltarune for their entire existence I gotta say... they are not my favorite games. for me, specifically and personally, the part of a game that makes it stand out from a story or graphic novel or anything like that is... well, playing it. UTDR is phenomenal on a narrative level but the actual gameplay is pretty mid, I'm not a big fan of bullet dodging. I've never once found myself thinking "man i could really go for some Deltarune gameplay mechanics right now"
#yap alert. yap check#endless love for UTDR forever and always#i think mechanically Hollow Knight is my favorite video game. really really good shit and a sweet spot for me#challenging? yes. but im good at video games so everything but the most difficult boss fight is achievable#in a gameplay loop sense its probably slime rancher. but tbh the extremely limited inventory DOES annoy me#minecraft and stardew are really good as well. oh and pokemon legends arceus of course#only pla. most pokemon games i gotta be real- they are also mid gameplay-wise for me. i lowkey hate battling LMAO#all this shit is soooo subjective obviously. i love yapping

Okay without spoiling anything can I just say that the flashy visual elements in the chapter 3 secret boss fight are PISSING ME OFF for the one fuckin attack? like i genuinely cannot see where I need to dodge, and I know it isn't an issue of reaction time bc the attack is exactly the same as one of Sans's in Undertale which I never ever had an issue with (if that helps clue anybody into what attack I'm talking about, I keep calling it a 'tunnel attack' to myself lol). Am I fuckin stupid? Am i supposed to be using something other than visuals to dodge the attack? I'm trying to be vague to not spoil anything but ugggh. I keep losing to that attack bc the after-image-type effects on the 'bullets' are making my head hurt. And I mean that genuinely like I just had to take some ibuprofen and stop for the night LMAO

Back when chapter 2 came out I remember trying to fight Spamton NEO while I was delirious with a fever/covid and I couldn't beat him and gave up
Just tried last night and beat him on the 2nd attempt. Its almost like being super sick was affecting me... much to consider
