Question:

Is there a reason why Yeong Sun and Pop Cap's Stat Totals are 13 instead of 14 like the rest of the On-Roster Fighters? (AKA Everyone in Rumble nix Atlus)

This was meanat to represent the fact that both of them have weird extra mechanics that don't quite map cleanly to the basic stats. Yuseong's stance switching and Pop Cap's invisible projectiles are unique features that provide unique advantages and so their other stats would probably be a little bit lower than the others to compensate.

Since we really haven't seen much from him, do we got any jokes regarding Red? From what I've seen, he's mostly just been the straight man (and I use the word straight losely) to whatever horny shenanigans the polycule rope him into.

Yeah I want to start exploring Red a little more with regards to comedy. He's definitely an upstanding Captain America Boyscout type model, though I think he's still down for shenanigans. I reference the idea that the whole sexy speedrun statistics website was his idea and I'd certainly like to explore him more in the future.

I like to think he's the sort of guy who's really earnest and authentically enthusiastic about his hyperfixations and likes to ramble. I have one example from the Patreon but it's a little spicy for tumblr so I'll just put a cropped/censored preview after the jump:

Out of sheer curiosity, are there any characters in any of the casts (Rumble After Dark, Actirangers, SANCTION, Monster Researchers, etc.) who fall on the demi/aro/ace spectrum?

I understand that's probably not a high priority demographic for a lot of porn artists, but given that demi/aro/ace doesn't always mean "anti-sex" (I'm demi-bi ace myself, and I very much enjoy your work - SFW or otherwise!), I'd be curious to hear your take on it!

Semi-related note: I very much appreciate how all of your work shows a strong respect for establishing boundaries, safewords, and consent, as well as how explicit and important respecting one's partner and their preferences (both sexual and otherwise) is in your comics. Healthy relationship dynamics for the win!

Ooh, yeah I don't have many but there's a few!

In the monster research crew, Macaron is demi/ace! Mostly interested in the various sex machines as an exercise in mechanical potency rather than being drawn into in all the horny shenanigans. Though she can occasionally indulge in some self-experimentation.

for the Actirangers Pawnathan is definitely ace, though that's mostly because he's a space robot foot-soldier with no real libido or familiarity with the concept of sex. He thinks its neat but also weird. Intimacy for him is probably more in the vein of wireplay stuff and the like.

Also big shout out to my good friend Nikoto's Layana! She's one of my favorite examples of an enthusiastic aro/ace character in a Very Horny setting. She's not particularly interested in sex, but she really enjoys doing nice things for her friends and also revels in doing things well and improving at stuff.

The awkward thing about these characters is that since they don't tend to opt into the sexual shenanigans the focus doesn't tend to go their way very often. Though the same can be said for a LOT of my OCs, of which I have WAY too many to the point where MOST of them go way too long between appearances.

Is it ok to ask, but that one superheroine of yours, she appeared with a blue tongue in one of Quiver's comics, gave Kato from Green Hornet energy. Have you ever drawn her aside from that comic? Will you ever draw more of her? My friend wants to find more out about her so she can cosplay her. If that's alright, I mean!

She was designed as the resident "Bruce Lee Clone" character for my fake fighting game Rumble After Dark.

Her hero name comes from 大黄蜂 dà huáng fēng which means bee or hornet, which is a very on-the-nose reference.

As to whether I've drawn more of her... uh... the answer is "sort of..."

So a while back I made a brief aside that Huang Feng is conspicuously absent from the fictional crossover fighting game Rumble vs Ranger, though her moveset is inherited by a specific character...

The "Huang" in Huang Feng translates to Yellow! And the character is literally ActiRanger Yellow moonlighting as a street-level Vigilante because apparently she has that kind of time.

Have I actually done anything with this idea? Not really! But I hope to do so eventually. (There IS an incredibly oblique reference to this in the next comic I'll be posting here soon so keep an eye out for that!)

Somethin I've noticed about your designs is that you've got a fair number of big boys (large, muscular, chunky etc.) but most of your female characters tend to stay pretty thin and lithe, with the biggest they get being kinda muscular.

Do you have any intention of adding some big girls to your cast?

I have a few! Though you're right, the percentage disparity is pretty telling.

To be honest, it's absolutely a weakness of my character design sensibilities, and I'm doing my best to improve. I really should draw more varied body types.

To look inward for a moment, I suspect that I'm experiencing a bit of a brain poison feedback loop. Drawing is, on one level, a leisure activity I do to have fun, and on another level a Job that do for Money. Both having fun and making money are important for surviving in the Capitalist Hellscape we all occupy.

When it comes to leisure, I obviously tend to draw inside of my comfort zone. I learned to draw by mimicking artists that I admired growing up and comic/manga art has historically not been great about body diversity. This then reinforces the feedback loop of mostly drawing one kind of face or body type. (in this case: cute anime girls) A common artistic bad-habit exemplified here in this Nozaki Kun comic.

Combined with the fact that being less practiced at drawing outside of my comfort zone, makes these designs end up taking more work to match the quality bar I have set for my work, this in turn means that it's more of a struggle to build up those muscles and bring those characters to the point where I'm happy with their design, which then makes that sort of drawing feel discouragingly like Work. Even if it's work that's worth doing (which it absolutely is)!

On the "monetary" side, I've built my audience on the characters I find easy to draw and so many of them expect/want me to draw more of that sort of thing. And having built an audience that desires that thing, they are often less engaged by things outside of that. Not to mention the economic strain of posts that do poorly will affect how much money I make in a given month.

This isn't limited to "bigger women" but a lot of MxM stuff I draw tends to do poorly in my algorithm, discouraging me from drawing more of it even when I want to! This phenomena is probably worst for folks on Youtube who are DEEPLY punished by the algorithm for daring to make videos outside of their established niche. ("You're a videogame content creator, how DARE you have an opinion on BOOKS")

This is all to say that I am grateful for you reaching out and expressing interest in seeing more variety and it's a good reminder to expand my artistic horizons a little more. Nothing is for everybody and there's definitely sections of my lovely audience who are underserved by these absences.
