I, for one, will be quite impressed if Opal births kittens!

So I tried to explain to my daughter that Opal is going to have babies..

Me: “Kiara, you can’t play with Opal anymore because she’s going to have babies soon.”

K: “babies?”

Me: “yes, like aunt Ri’s kitty had babies. Opal will have her own babies soon too.”

K: “…….. Opal is having kittens?????”

Me: “kind of but they’re called puppies!”

aaaaaaand she proceeds to run around the yard screaming “kittens!”

Dogs are so much easier than kids. Ugh. My toddlers vocabulary is crazy impressive for her age but she’s impossible to reason with when she decides something.
