Milo Heath. I used to be with it, but now what I'm with isn't it anymore (by which I mean Syfy's The Magicians). Hth on AO3.

it turns out a lot of people are actually on the same page about whether or not they'd work if they didn't have to earn money, we just all seem to have wildly different definitions of what counts as work. i'll see one person say "of course i would, i'd still want to create art and volunteer in my local community" and another say "hell no i wouldn't, i'd quit work and just create art and volunteer in my local community" and then they look at eachother like they said something incomprehensible.
#except one of those people is correct and the other is a blockhead#creating art is hard work#keeping volunteer projects afloat is hard work#employment for wages is not synonymous with work#words mean things

okay now that we’ve a had couple lesbian blockbusters and milfs are having a romance moment, we need to bring back the manic pixie dream girl. she was never fuckin suited to fixing all the problems of some boring twenty year old everyman, but you know who could actually benefit from a quirky free-spirited blue haired girl with pronouns (she/they)? a newly divorced forty-something mom who’s trying to learn how to be herself for the first time in her life

Reblog and put in the tags: In terms of controversy, discourse, infighting, ship wars, etc., which of the fandom’s you’ve been was the most stressful? Which was the most peaceful?
#supernatural fandom was pretty much an unbearable place to exist#everybody hates everybody for a 20-year list#of petty grievances#no thanks!

Was just informed that "any sufficiently deep enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor" and hoo boy we are really in a crisis of anti-intellectualism.

Yep. I didn’t care for Alanis in the 90s. I thought she was manufactured. No, she was funded because she’s Canadian…but I digress. I remember liking what she had to say about mental health and meditation in the mid 90s when was Yoga Journal cover girl. (Yes, back when I was wondering if I needed to look into yoga teacher training or some other somatic discipline.) At any rate I like what she’s saying now:
