They visibly pause as Puck proceeds to open his hands and show them anway, despite their rather rude greeting. A greeting they find themselves regretting almost immediately.

They tended to be moody, and often took that out on the others who dared speak to them at camp. It was a subconscious self defense, to lash out when they felt any kind of vulnerability and this entire tadpole situation was one big clusterfuck after another.

But Puck... just wanted to show them a toad?

The creature looked at them with it's beady little eyes and they find themselves melting just a little.
