New Girl In Town

(Jonathan Byers)

Synopsis: Right after the return of Will to his family, Jonathan is saddened by the fact he can’t help his traumatized brother, Y/N, the new girl who has her eye on him decides to help out.

You watched intently as Jonathan Byers passed by you, his hair jumbled and books in his hands, he seemed disheveled but everybody knew that his brother Will was just returned so nobody blamed him, but then again, nobody asked, everybody was much to weary about the creepy kid who lost his brother.

It was obvious that he blamed himself for it all, he kept to himself, he didn’t make eye contact, but you seen something else, you seen a sweet boy who was interesting and only wanted to fix the mess he thought he made.

You contemplated in your mind for a minute before biting back your pride and risking being thought of as a freak, “Jonathan!”

He turned quickly and just barely made eye contact before his eyes met the ground again and he picked up his walking speed.

“wait!” you said quickly grabbing his wrist and pulling him back to you gently, “Hey- Uh, sorry this might be weird since we haven’t uh- ... talked. but! I heard your brother was back and I was just wanting to say i’m glad he’s okay.”

His hard ass facade cracked slightly as his lips curved up into a small smile as your stumbling words, “Thanks.. I’m Jonathan.” he said quietly and stuck out his hand.

You smiled back, happy he didn’t just run away, “Oh uhm, I’m Y/N” you repeated his formalities just as the bell was ringing, he coughed quietly and his face turned blank again, “I better go..” you nodded and gently touched his hand, “Hopefully I’ll see you around.” you admitted.

that same small shy smile as he nodded, “yeah, I hope so.”
