but in all seriousness,, they bring some other really good stuff to attention, like land sponges/kelp in the map + possible theories about what the rumor line at the beginning of the trailer might be referencing

and i'm also very glad that someone else saw the eye and immediately thought it was a squid eye

okay okay full analysis of the trailer (both actual observations and silly notes),,, spoilers ahead,, be warned!

ehehehe they're so cute in the thumbnail

first thing i noticed was that the first song features leitmotifs from the deep cut introduction theme in the splatoon 3 story mode,,, but like in a swing rhythm

these statues interest me quite a bit. there's a lot of them seen throughout the trailer, but we aren't really able to get a good look at them yet. i wonder if they're significant, and if they are, how so?

can't get a clean screenshot of it but the newspaper shown at 0:23 has a picture of shelly and donny,, doubt they'll be really relevant to the game but i thought that was a cute detail

also shown at the same timestamp is the map with what i presume to be the spirhalite islands circled. there appears to be two islands, with one being significantly larger than the other. i assume the majority of the game will be on this larger island,, and maybe the smaller island will be part of a dlc of some sort? not sure really,, just spitting ideas out

not only is the main tank massive but the extensions also pique my interest. the section with the can and the little bottle looks like it's extra ink storage, while the propeller contraption looks like it might be a sprinkler of some sort,, maybe it'll function similar to the pearl drone sprinkler ability?

ALSO another thing about the player i noticed,,, FRECKLES!!! we're finally getting a freckle customization option!!!

when the player shoots at big man, he seems to openly embrace it rather than trying to protect himself like other characters have previously. i wonder if we'll be utilizing his abilities and how?

and i guess it kind of makes sense that he'd be a large part of the adventure just going by his outfit alone. his looks more like he's prepared for adventure while the shiver's and frye's appear to be more relaxed

the player character is seen wearing two different outfits in the trailer, with one being a pilot-type outfit and the other being the one seen in the images above with the white top and unzipped orange jumpsuit

the very last part of the trailer (before the narrator) shows what appears to be an eye opening, but it doesn't look like it belongs to anyone we've seen in the trailer. in fact, it looks more like a squid eye

and not like an inkling squid eye. like a pre-human-extinction squid eye

i love how everyone collectively agreed that grandfest is just splatoon coachella

i see that a good chunk of people are all for team present for the grandfest,,,,, i am too i just really hope that we won't lose because we're all stuck in mirror matches with each other
