it actually used to be the biggest take from the mainstream community that not dating trans people was transphobic. from my perspective ”genital preference” first started coming up from the community essentially saying “ok fine! genital preferences are ok”. now it’s more divided between the ones who say it isn’t ok and the ones who say “no one’s saying that”

the layered garbage logic in this specific point the mainstream trans community sometimes says is repulsive to me. mention that the trans community supports gender stereotypes, and some of them will say that it makes sense as they are that gender and that’s why. it relies on the myth that being trans makes you the other sex to say that trans makes you the other sex. it is hostile to the fact that men and women are different to agree that men and women are different
