house wrens are known to fill not just one, not just two, but any and all surrounding bird houses with sticks as they prepare to mate. before they find a partner, they will spend hours each day finding sticks and adding them into these homes. a birdhouse was once found to have 500 sticks added by a single house wren. truly diabolical behavior.
