I Fall In Love Too Easily

I fall in love too easily. There is a song that goes like this, and I relate to the song heavily. I am attracted to most people who exist. I can find beauty in every single person who walks on this earth. Now while this may sound like a good attribute to have- as you’re always looking at other people in a positive light, it is also detrimental to my love life. I feel bad telling people no if they want to be in a relationship with me, or if they’re attracted to me. I always want to make everyone happy, and never have people be upset with me. Which results in a bunch of loose ends and potential romances. It’s like having a group of endless acquaintances, instead of friends. They have the potential of being friends, but still remain acquaintances. This also makes me feel bad, personally, if I’m in a relationship and there is other people who want to be with me. I just realized how this post makes me sound. Narcissistic. “Ooh I have too many people in love with me”. Truthfully, I don’t. This all comes down to me being extremely indecisive.

ADHD

Today was the first day that I tried adderhal. I don’t think that I’ve been so concentrated in my entire life: this isn’t an exaggeration. Work that would’ve took me days to get myself to sit down and concentrate, now finished within hours. I have, however, completely lost my appetite. I have gone through almost two packages of gum, as for some reason I have the inclination to chew on something during all of this. I have also noticed an immense shift in my personality. Where before I would sit here, and not be able to stay still, wanting to do something impulsive, I now am able to sit for hours and work on homework- that I’d struggle with before. In regards to my personality, I don’t feel as goofy or emoteful as I’ve usually been. People have known me for having a “crazy” bubbly, always talking and moving personality. Although in this moment, the only thing that seems interesting or worth my time is getting the assignments I need done, done.

Amy Winehouse

I love Amy Winehouse. Recently, I’ve related with her music more then I ever have. Maybe this is the media’s fault, I only heard her most famous, “Rehab”. I watched the Documentary on her the other day. She was in an abusive relationship, where he encouraged her to use. She felt as if she needed to keep up with his drug use to be with him. She said that she wanted to feel exactly what he felt, all the time. I was in a bad relationship as well, where my ex-boyfriend and I were both codependent on each other. I didn’t realize how unhealthy it was. Although codependency issues have been a common trend in my past relationships. I really feel the words of her songs. Especially, “Love is A Losing Game”.

I’ve had periods where I’ve struggled with drug/alcohol use and abuse as well. The feeling of being numb can be so appealing, when what you feel is too much. I feel the sadness in Amy’s words throughout her music. And it also makes me extremely sad that she passed away.

Spirit Halloween

Hello, my name is Emma Jones. I am 18 years old and living in Minnesota. I have a lot of goals in life. Despite all of these goals, one thing has been an aspiration of mine for many months now: Become a real estate agent. I’ve failed working at most jobs that I’ve had in the past for one reason or another. Most of the time it’s anxiety related, or I despised working under a boss or company. The only job I truly succeeded in was working as assistant manager at Spirit Halloween. It was utter chaos. I had walked in one day, with a friend who had worked there, and simply asked to work as assistant manager. They asked about my previous experience, and I had said I had worked in retail. Then I struck up a deal with them: I bring in two of my friends as associates, I got the job. Once I got the job, I wasn’t trained in any managerial aspects, and thrown into situations that I should’ve been trained in. Although no matter the situation, I was able to find effective solutions to problems, and train new and different employees. I single-handedly kept the store afloat, when the actual manager refused to come in to work. Like I said before: It was utter chaos. However, I strive in chaos, if I’m the one who is able to make decisions. Even despite the situation: I gained the respect and trust of the employees, and the store strived.

Real Estate looks desirable to me, because a lot of the work of a real estate salesperson is self-driven and motivated. I wake up in the morning and decide how hard I want to work, or how many people I want to meet to broaden the network of people I sell to.
