things i wish i knew sooner (3d edition) part 1
-binging is predictable. dehydrated? you'll binge (bc the center of the brain where thirst signals come off from is the same place that signals hunger and it often gets them confused). eat a lot of trash snacks or junk food? you'll binge (bc these foods are full of sugar to get you addicted and they're poor in nutrients so you can overeat and still not feel full). doing fuck all all day long? you'll binge (bc boredom leads to anxiety which leads to binging). if u can predict it, u can avoid it!!!!
-fasting is not a corrective for binging. i had to learn this the hard way over many trials and errors but fasting after a major binge is just not a good idea. it feels correct like oh im filled so now i just need to be empty but ur brain will not follow. if u just binged or if u have been binging constantly ur body will be expecting lots of food so if u fast immediately after your body will sabotage you and send you spiralling to get the food it wants. thats why we cycle through binging and fasting and never stop. if you want to quit binging you have to gradually take smaller portions and do smaller periods of fasting until you "retrain" your brain.
-fasting indefinitely leads to binging too. you need endurance to be able to fast for long periods so you need practice actually. if you never fast for 24 hours for example and you just decided to suddenly fast for 48 hours bc ur feeling guilty after a binge chances are you'll get to 30 hours or something and then binge. because you're not skilled enough yet! dont fall into the "well i just wont eat indefinitely until i feel light" trap, it doesn't work, u have to actually do smaller fasts before you can attempt longer ones.

Eating in the morning and fasting overnight can help you lose weight. The OMAD diet doesn't tell you which meal to eat. That said, people who fast overnight and eat a larger meal in the morning tend to lose more weight than people who eat more at dinnertime.
