Final piece for the Springfest 2025!

You all, I had a blast working with @smoky-solitude! This fic is enormously domestic, so damn fluffy, and SO MUCH FUN! (Also, did I mention the smut. The smut is both hot and funny and I adore it.)

Submission for the Realm of the Elderlings Springfest! I had pleasure of working with the wonderful @smoky-solitude, who wrote the FLUFFIEST and sexiest cowboy AU for these two: Dancing on the Edge of a Cliff.

“Do we have to go?” I asked at last, the words falling from my mouth like rocks. My spouse universally loved parties, and Springfest was her favorite. I knew I might enjoy myself once we arrived, but I dreaded going. My family would be there, and all Buckfort had been invited. We should go. Still, I did not want to. A Western AU where Fitz has to, horror of horrors, go to a Springfest party at the local saloon with his family. There will be complaining, dancing, cards of various types, coffee, and Fitz's silly opinions about beer. No real plot spoilers, but there are character spoilers through GF.

INTEREST CHECK

I know we are just coming off of Springfest, but I'm working on my ideas for Summer! This is my current plan--two concurrent events from June 27th - August 29th, 2025. You can do either one, or both! Totally up to you. Space is limited in the pin-up calendar.

Women of ROTE Bingo:

There will be bingo cards with female ROTE character names in each square.

You'll create fic and/or art for each square.

Win BINGO by fulfilling a complete row (don't have to stop there!)

No sign-ups, no need to wait until the deadline to post. You can post as you finish until you complete a row, then you are done!

This event will end on August 29th.

ROTE Pin-Up Calendar:

Sign-ups will begin June 27th. Space is limited!

There will be a list of 12 characters + 4 centerfolds for the start of each season.

This will be a 2026 calendar PDF, and can be downloaded and printed.

This is only an interest check. All of the above details are tentative and may be adjusted when the actual event is posted.

My second piece of art for this Springfest features a melancholy Thymara and a bullish Sintara. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve had to draw this many scales but it was nonetheless very rewarding and endlessly satisfying. Dragons are awesome!

It was a rare treat contribute to @springfest-rote‘s amazing collection of art and fan fiction, and I was sincerely grateful to @tragediegh’s patience and creativity in this collaboration. Their fiction, “Concerning Grief and Eldest Daughters” can be found here:

This accompanying illustration is Nettle, burdened with responsibility and purpose, but lightened by love and connection. She’s a firm favourite among the Hobb’s characters for me. The impetus to draw her in a tender and heavy moment was a boon.

It’s a pleasure to still be in this fandom on Tumblr after nearly 10 years (!!!). Humbling and joyful in equal measure.

It was such a joy to collaborate on this project with @feyweird who wrote the wonderful fic and @everywaythatmatters who created a wonderfull artwork.

The prompt for the fic was the following: "A vignette style fic of missing scenes that depict an introspective Fitz falling in love with Beloved over the course of their lives."

All of the vignettes that @feyweird wrote would have been a blast to illustrate but I simply could not pass up the opportunity to draw a nice spring garden scene.
