Tkluts in opera types:
Pierre - A warm lyric tenor
Nemo - Sexy full baritone who has a wide range
Conseil - Lyric mezzo-soprano en travesti/'pants' role
Ned - This one was harder but I think bass-baritone or Helden(Wagnarian)tenor
Crew - SATB opera chorus (imagine how much a layered all voice chorus number would sound during the maelstrom!!)

If I know nevertheless what love is, it is because of you. I have been able to love you, you alone among all men. You cannot imagine what that means. It means a well in a desert, a blossoming tree in the wilderness. It is thanks to you alone that my heart has not dried up, that a place within me has remained open to grace.

as a singer whose mother has a degree in vocal performance i am SICK AND TIRED of the hate jeff blim’s voice gets
yes jeff sings in falsetto (AND SOUNDS AMAZING DOING IT) but his higher register is not solely falsetto. he uses a head mix, mostly—note ‘handed to you’ in feast or famine for the head mix and the beginning of monsters and men for falsetto
as for the alleged overuse of vibrato; jeff blim is the oldest starkid member at forty-one. it is common sense i fear that vibrato increases with age?? his is probably not fully intentional, because it’s hard as hell to suppress vibrato and using it healthily also is more comfortable for the voice. it can also be pretty easy to tell when someone is faking vibrato; fake vibrato usually sounds tense or strained, and his is full and strong
additionally, i think most people’s gripes about his voice lie in its timbre. in his higher register especially, he’s got a very bright and sharp voice that even borders on shrill and/or metallic
you’re not obligated to like jeff blim’s voice. you’re not obligated to like ANYONE’S voice. you just need to know that it’s an opinion. don’t call his voice ‘bad,’ because it’s not bad at all
also yes my mother helped me write this

There's so much the Nautilus being Pierre's gilded cage angst and drama potential 🙏
Like, if it wasn't for Ned I don't think Pierre would fully realise he's not free. He's having so much fun getting to see the wonders of the ocean up close and having a fellow academic who is on his level that he's oblivious to the fact he cannot leave.
Conseil knows; but if the Professor is happy then he is content with it.
Not to mention Nemo is basically in control of Pierre's environment . If he tells his crew not to engage with him then they won't. Nemo is in control of where they go, what they see, and what they do. Pierre is completely at his mercy and he just doesn't realise quite how little control he has...
Genuine connection and affection but with one hell of a power imbalance..
The potential is just mwah.
