one cycle the IPRE comes into possession of a mansion through shenanigans that aren’t relevant here, and Lup decides to roleplay as a filthy-rich widow who Definitely didn’t murder her husband (barry is perfectly happy to die for the bit if it means he gets to play the vengeful ghost). they make a list of all the rich people they hate from this plane, and invite them all to a party where Barry “unexpectedly” gets murdered and starts haunting the mansion grounds, locking everyone inside until they solve the mystery and “avenge his death.” he’s very convincing! he even gives the guests a couple cryptic rhymes as a headstart to their investigation.

Merle and Lucretia are also there, masquerading as eccentric guests to divert a tiny fraction of the suspicion away from Lup. everyone who’s in on the bit has a blast, and everyone who isn’t gets scared out of their minds, but the “game” ends before anyone finds the “murder weapon” because someone catches Barry’s ghost and his widow/alleged murderer making out in the pantry, where they foolishly assumed no one would be looking for clues

(this came to me last night in a dream but you know what! @blupjeansweek2021 consider this a slightly late entry for “ghost” lol)
