Genuinely adore the concept of modern au!moshang who are happily together and Shen yuan as their biggest hater.

Like Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua are good friends for years, way before Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun are ever a thing, and is highly jealous and territorial over Shang Qinghua. Like he’s highkey a stalker over them following every single post and account from sock puppet accounts (some of which he uses to hate on any and all relationship posts). He sneakly watches all their dates from afar, put tracking and listening devices on both of them, and has cameras all over Shang Qinghua’s house “just in case.”

Essentially Shen Yuan who’s bitterness over not having Shang Qinghua causing him to stalk him. Shen Yuans family endorsing it because they really like Shang Qinghua and intend to have him as part of their family and help with the stalking and planting of evidence to drive moshang apart (and directly into Shen Yuans arms).

Eventually moshang break up, with Mobei-Jun trying to get back together and trying to prove his innocence, and Shen Yuan celebrating with his family who rush Shang Qinghua into their arms “because Mobei has a history of violence.” (They’re literally helping Lingguang-Jun just because they hate Mobei-Jun for trying to steal Shang Qinghua away from them).

Long story short Cumplane end up as a couple with Atticwife Shang Qinghua with major anxiety because of Mobei-Jun and the manipulation around that.

This was very short and random thought process I might flesh this out later this also wasn’t where I was intending to go bc I just wanted to talk about moshang with hater Cucumber bro

the great thing about the wuxia genre is you can start a sect called the Evil Blood Cult in a place called Demon Mountain that’s a volcano full of poison and you all wear crazy gothic black and red hanfu and practice Sinister Backstabber Style kung fu and like. that’s not a deterrent to prospective disciples. do all that and a fuckton of bright eyed youngsters will still show up at your door and say hello i would like to join the demon mountain evil blood cult where do i sign up?

time travel au where qijiu's daughter travels back in time and is summarily attached to newly instated sect leader yqy. sj is burning with jealousy at the thought of yqy someday moving on altogether with some random woman; he later finds out that Baby Yue was apparently born to YQY and doesn't have a mom, but a second dad. he moves from burning with jealousy to contemplating actual arson.

This is absolutely funniest if she looks like Shen Jiu. If she looked even somewhat similar to YQY, I think SJ would clock her as YQY’s relative (a sister or cousin perhaps), and be wildly jealous for different reasons; how dare YQY’s family come back and want him now after selling him off? They forfeited that right decades ago! This woman thinks she can come and worm her way into YQY’s good graces, stealing the place of YQY’s beloved family that rightfully belongs to—

But if she looks sort of ambiguously like SJ? Sometimes people look like each other, there’s nothing strange about that. She clearly doesn’t even look that much like SJ— would he make such a stupid smile as he hung off YQY’s arm? Obviously he shares no relation to this socially climbing harpy who moved in together with AN UNMARRIED MAN. I actually think he’d be corrected on that assumption pretty quickly because he wouldn’t be able to resist going to YQY with his feathers puffed, calling YQY a hypocrite for condemning SJ’s whoring when YQY does this without so much as announcing an engagement. 

Once he learns she’s YQY’s daughter (sired upon him! By a man!! Did she just call YQY A-Niang?!?!) well, SJ is certain YQY would never want to be with him, much less have a kid with him, so that possibility isn’t even worth considering. Much more importantly, somewhere out there is a man who’s going to fuck YQY in a few years who needs to die. YQY stops their daughter from explaining things to SJ because SJ is already angry and YQY is so certain that SJ will hate him more if he learns the truth. His daughter told YQY that they’re happily married in the future, but despite her insistence, YQY is fairly sure at this point that she came from a different world; maybe in a life where in didn’t fail Xiao Jiu so terribly, this is what he could have had. 

Writing this I’m feeling bad for the daughter because SJ would be so mean to her this whole time— I don’t think he’s be outwardly calling her hateful things, but he’d at very least be incredibly cold. She had better complain about it when she gets back to her own time. YQY still asks SJ to apologize in the present but SJ grips his fan so hard it creaks and storms off 😔. When she gets back she's going to delicately tear up and tell her parents that past-A-Die was so hateful 🥺🥺🥺. SJ is ready to kill his past self.

Going through some old docs of mine and I rediscovered an old au idea I had for a Qijiu & Bingyue fic with Yue Qingyuan at the center of it all. The entire fic from what I gathered from rereading my word doc is basically an au where Yue Qingyuan claims Luo Binghe as a disciple without realizing that Shen Jiu wanted him, which just fuels Shen Jiu's anger towards Yue Qingyuan even more and also causes him to develop a hatred of Binghe like he does in PIDW. But this time he doesn't have any of the authority he originally had over Binghe, so he can't abuse him the way he did in PIDW. I had a lot more on my mind for it and did write a bit more about it in my word doc, but my brain never really focused on the idea enough to actually write about where canon would diverge and where it would stay the same. Thankfully I finally got back into danmei and specifically SVSSS again, so now I'm reworking the idea so that I at least can share a vague outline of it because I honestly have no idea when I'll write the fic and I really want to talk about it.

Thinking about writing an au where modern Liu Qingge and Liu Mingyan transmigrate into a more serialized and put together version of PIDW and absolutely derail the plot through sheer will and determination to not end up dying and/or in a harem.

To clarify, Liu Mingyan & Liu Qingge are the only ones that are from the modern day world. Almost everyone else is from PIDW except for Shang Qinghua. I've decided to keep him as a transmigrator because I like the idea of Liu Mingyan interacting with Shang Qinghua once and absolutely clocking that he's the writer of PIDW when he mutters something in English about Liu Qingge being way more calm than he wrote him to be.

And yes, Liu Qingge does accidentally gain a harem of men. He has no idea that he has one and Liu Mingyan isn't going to tell him when she's having so much fun watching men fail flirt with her oblivious older brother. That is, until she realizes that Shen Qingqiu is one of those men and then that's when she panics.
