A blog where i write about the positive side of video games to contrast all of the negativity that is hitting every gamer out there. The point of this blog is to start a dialogue, so if you have something to add to the conversation, be sure to drop by!

This needs to stop, these corporate shills are relentless!
🚨 The FCC plans to kill net neutrality on December 14 🚨
It’s real simple: ISP lobbyists are pushing the FCC to kill net neutrality so phone and cable companies can block apps, slow down websites, and charge fees to control what you see and do online.
Our only chance is congressional pressure and legislative action. But we need grassroots support. Tell your representatives that you support “Title 2” rules and ask for their help protecting a free and open internet.
Go to Battle For The Net to be connected to your congresspeople.

Gaming Love Letter: The elder scrolls V Skyrim
I have to admit, I was mostly inspired to make this blog because of this game! Yes, i know this game is old (no matter how many times i said that its still weird to me), but that doesn’t change the fact that this is one of the best games ever made, so what better place to start than this.
The elder scrolls series is known for one of the best video game worlds, and its fifth entry to the series is no different! Skyrim is just dripping with atmosphere and immersion and sometimes that is hard to find in a video game now. Before anyone starts, yes , i know the game is sometimes extremely buggy and i know Bethesda(Game developers) usually get a free pass when it comes to bugs and glitches but just hear me out.
I have never managed to get into Skyrim, i always believed it was due to the sloppy combat, unfortunately the truth was that i played the game with cheats and that was killing the experience. After that i buckled down and played the game trough on the master difficulty(without cheats of course), and oh boy was it amazing!
Lets get into the good stuff first.
From the second the game lets you go wild and free you are really that, free. Anything you wanna do after that, you can, yes you have quests that point you somewhere but you can completely ignore that waymarker and go a thousand miles in the opposite direction, put a cooking pot over the unsuspecting citizen and steal everything from the gold in his locked chests to the clothes on his back! Magic in Skyrim is well done and it offers you a wide range of dealing with problems in your way (even though magic users will feel underpowered at the start), i remember the time i sniped an ice dragon that was barely alive with an overcharged fireball from a mile away (HE WAS FLYING)! If I continue like this the post will turn into a review and that’s not the point, so i will just give you the stuff i liked about it. Lockpicking is done well and i have to commend the game for this since i was genuinely immersed while picking a damn lock. No one should mention Skyrim without mentioning the progression system, let me just say this, the people responsible for this system are absolute geniuses! It’s perfect, it gives you boosts in the skills that you use rather than it being some random stat boost, for example: When I am using archery my archery skills level up with use. Atmosphere in this game (like i said ) is amazing, from the dark and dreary nordic crypts, ash covered islands, ancient castles filled to the brim with aristocratic vampires... everything is there! Story it’s serviceable and short to be honest but without it we wouldn’t have gotten one of the most badass characters in video games, the Dragonborn. The main story like i said is nothing spectacular but it does give you a lot of unique and varied locations to explore and its the job of the DLC to pickup where the main story left off and i have to say all 3 of the DLC content is worth the buy especially the Dragonborn DLC.
The bad.
I would say that this boils down to three things
You have to mod it in order to get the experience you where meant to have.
The game is buggier that big bug riding around in a dune buggy. Keep in mind a lot of the bugs are fixed with the latest patch and if you install the unofficial patches the game will run much better. When I say bugs i am referring to both the fun bugs and the bugs that kill your game, so keep that in mind.
Melee combat is just bad, no sugarcoating that. You get no feedback from hitting the enemies with a sword other than the fact that you see their health go down a bit and it just feels like you are smacking at the enemy with a +10 legendary twig of uselessness.
Overall this is a masterpiece of a game that everybody should experience and i cant recommend it enough even though it has problems.
The elder scrolls V Skyrim, I love you in all of your glorious buggy epicness!
Remember, the point is to start a conversation. Tell me what you think of the game!
