while youre definitely not wrong, i feel like that is not what both of these art pieces are about. its not "civilization = bad, lets return to tradition", i agree that this is a bad, conservative ass take. of course cavemen would appreciate pros of modernity. the point here is to highlight the pressure on an individual and restrictions of personal freedom that come with living in a modern society & awful impact on nature that came with industrialization. and so of course its easier to see through lens of a person who has experienced the world before all that. a caveman didnt have to be deemed useful to a large society and slave away all their life to earn a right to exist. they had freedom to roam as far away as their legs could take them, they could experience world unaltered, not belonging to someone who only needs it to suck it dry. yes, modern society is best we had so far in terms of quality of life, and i personally wouldnt trade it for anything that came before, but it has its flaws and we should always strive towards better yknow. the post is not trying to communicate that everything was better during stone age, it just uses cavemen as a contrast to point the flaws out better. people just yearn for some freedom and think that its fucked up what is happening to the planet rn
