Watching MahoPre Mirai Days Ep 12

The last ep of Mirai Days. It makes me a bit sad that this will be the last time I will see my girls in action </3

Screw it, I am sad about it but all good things must come to an end ;v;

-Spoilers ahead-

Thoughts (just the ones that struck me the most):

I love how they make another scene from the CD drama and it's where Mirai and Riko discussing about the surnames to boot! Riko saying "Asahina" is the perfect name for Mirai because she is the sun that shines on everyone (which is true). But gurl, what's this that I'm hearing?? For a moment, I thought you would say your sun specifically hehehe :3. My MiraRiko agenda has been once more fulfilled once again <33

The scene of Mirai's family with little Mirai before switching to Mirai and Riko with baby Ha-chan--- They're so family!!

I just realized all the statue forms of Mirai's family (the camera, the baby bottle and Mofurun) just shows that having Mirai is their happiest moment in their lives. I know I'm looking silly here but man, they really loved her so, so much. No wonder Mirai's dad is against about her moving out of the house. In his eyes, Mirai is still his little girl.

CURE MOFURUN GUYS!! I REPEAT CURE MOFURUN!! Oh my god, I love the bgm during Mofurun's transformation. It sounds so majestic. And then, there is also the Heartful Style and the Super Cure forms from Kiseki no Mahou. They didn't hold back at the callback.

Hearing Mirai says "wakuwaku monda" in a way how she says it in the original series makes me so overwhelmingly happy. I feel like this is the first time she ever said it this way. While she did say her famous catchphrase in this series, it is often subdued and it wasn't pretty much used compared to the last season. And now, she sounds so excited and happy and honestly, good for her. My girl deserves to be happy ^^

I honestly don't have much to say except for the fact I absolutely enjoyed Mirai Days to the fullest. Ever since at the start of the series, I always stay up late in order to watch it live. There are some flaws here and there, but it is still quite enjoyable and left me very satisfied since it met my main expectations for this series. I got to see my girls in action, I got some MiraRiko content (as much as the writers and animators trying to sneak it in. MiraRiko is always canon in my heart), and it has times for the girls' family moments. It was perfect for me. Other things, such as Cure Mofurun's appearance, are a bonus in the package. The ending is what I've hoped for. They're together and that makes me happy ^v^

The villains here are a beasts. Airu is a menace to everyone, especially to Mirai imo. He doesn't let everyone know what cards on his hand until last minute and he even gets what he wanted until the girls managed to defeat Chronosto. And then, he straight up disappeared at the last ep which left quite an ambiguous ending for him (which i don't mind because i love to think of the possibilities i could have in this route tho it would most likely imply that he just stays in the past considering the whole reason why he even bothered to engage with the Cures or he went in hiding). Chronosto might be a simple villain whose goal is to stop time but I won't deny he is very terrifying. Because stopping someone's time to send them to the past is akin to death already. And then he literally managed to turn everyone from the Magic World in one go. Though, I kinda find it a bit funny that Chronosto is more of a talkative one while Airu is there being vague like a little shit he is lol.

Also, I have to say the animation is quite unique compared to the ones I've watched before, especially the fight scenes. It was actually my first time to see such animation in this series so it was quite an experience, to say the least. I do hope they will do it again in other Precure series. Then the MahoPre's bgm is good, especially the music box version of I Wish You Were Here. That one still sends me the feels just as its original version did.

After seeing both sequels, I personally prefer Mirai Days over Kibou no Chikara (tho I somewhat enjoyed Otona as far as I'm concerned). Despite both of them have the same theme and they are the sequel of my favorite series, Mirai Days is more compelling than Otona in terms of the subject of time. Certain biases aside, I found myself more related to Mirai and Riko's worries than Nozomi and the other's. Maybe because I'm nearly the same age as Mirai's and their anxiousness about the passage of time resonated in me to the point I felt quite attacked by the writers lol. That could be why I liked Mirai Days' message of not sticking too much to the past and move forward to the future. It somehow gives me a bit comfort in regards to my own unpredictable future as well.

With that said, I am quite satisfied and couldn't ask for more…

Watching MahoPre Mirai Days Ep 11

I told you this ep will fucked me up- I TOLD YOU THIS EP WILL FUCKED ME UP AAAHHHHH

Out of all the precure in the franchise I have watched, MahoPre is the only one that doesn't fail in putting me in absolute shambles. Damn you, writers, damn you all *sobs*

My thoughts are a fucking mess. Not even a list of small thoughts can help me put what I've been through when I watched it. And it wasn't even in subtitles bitch! And now, I'm re-watching it again with subtitles.

… It hurts even more, fuuuu---- *flips table*

I have to say, the fight was super intense. The music and the animation went so hard. You have no idea how panicked I am when they used the Alexandrite Style. The moment they're casting the Extreme Rainbow, my mind immediately went "Something's wrong. Aren't they using it a bit too early!?" And lo and behold, Chronosto wins.

And then, we see them sharing and experiencing the same past. I like how it started from the beginning of their journey as if it also gives us a recall. Some of the footage are from the first season while others are new scenes in between. Heck, Mirai and Riko's conversation is from the CD drama which I thankfully managed to listen to despite not understanding some or most parts due to no subtitles but that's not the point-- (btw, have you seen how Riko stared at Mirai? Like Mirai's just fixing her hair, but why such POV??? I know what you are Izayoi Riko, you can't hide shit from me >:3). I love how, while looking for ways to escape the past, they still managed to have a lighthearted talk like everyone finding out that Ha-chan ate Mirai's strawberry melon bread lol.

And ya'll know what fucking happened next. Toei fucking did it once again.

In order to escape from Chronosto's prison, they all must forget their memories and ended up being separated once again. And you know how Toei did it? Ep 49 style! You can't tell me the way Mirai and Riko's statues drifted apart is just like how they were six years ago! Like, why? Why must you make me relive the pain I endured!? My heart tears when Mirai asked if they will be okay and she sounds unsure as if she put up a bravado for everyone just before.

And to add salt to the wound, as if the footage of ep 49 is not enough, they fucking replayed the conversation! And the ep ends with the table on the park, unoccupied by everyone. I am not okay, I am fully crying and sobbing aaaaahhhhhhhh

They better make them permanently be together as a family in the final episode or else I will fucking riot! These girls just wanted to be together. Is that too much to ask??

Watching Mirai Days Ep 9 and 10

Before I realized it, I wasn't able to let out my thoughts on ep 9 rip ;-;

So I'll just compile my overall thoughts in both ep 9 and 10.

-Spoilers ahead-

First of all, I'm quite happy that Riko addressed that not everyone would be okay being brought back again to the present. Because to people who are longing for the past, like Airu for instance, Chronosto, in a way, has become their savior of sorts (I'm sure this is not the right word but my mind can't think of anything that fits in this description rip). They prefer to stay where they will no longer have to worry about anything. But that isn't how people should lived and the girls know that. But we all know that moving to the future is hard, especially when you are sticking to the past. I do hope there will be a scene of them confronting the people, or Airu, about that. Though with 2 episodes left, I doubt it can happen but we'll see.

Chronosto has become one of the ruthless villains I've known so far. Even the slightest negativity of a person in regards to the present is enough to turn them into stone. Not only that, he even turned everyone in the Magic World to stone. Though I do have to wonder, what is the total population of the Magic World? It must've been smaller compared to the Non-Magic World that Chronosto was able to turn everyone into stone. Heck, even the snail-liner isn't safe from him. Now, there was morbid thought that out of everyone in the Magic World, only Riko (and possibly, the other magicians who are currently in the Non-Magic World) is the one left in Chronosto's attack… That was dark, honestly…. Though, I do recall the franchise have a similar story like that… I think it's in Dokidoki?

Then there's the old villains, I absolutely loved how they worked together with the Precures. Though unfortunately, they last for a short while before Chronosto turned them all to stone aside from Yamoh who was freed from it. And then, Yamoh even helped the Cures in finding Chronosto which was nice of him. I am not actually surprised that Yamoh is planning to betray them since he always yearns to serve Dokurokushe once again. What I am surprised is that Chronosto rejected his offer to let him go back to his past like bro has a free meal offered and he rejected it lmao. Apparently, what he collected is enough for him, I guess.

But, what I really adore the most is Mirai, Riko and Ha-chan soaring through the skies in their brooms. 'Cause, have you guys seen them!? They're look so happy and free from any worries. For a moment, they are back to just being the middle-school girls. For a moment, they are the Mirai, Riko and Ha-chan I watched back in the original series. The nostalgia hits me like a fucking train, I can't-

Aight, I can't wait for the next ep. I better get ready cause it will probably going to fuck me up in some ways I can't expected it.

Watching MahoPre Mirai Days Ep 8

Another ep and it's another slice of life. I am eating well, thank you writers ^^

Though that didn't mean there's no storm coming cuz have yall seen the prev?

Thoughts:

I ain't talking about the first part cuz my brain is also confused cause what do you mean Hi-chan is inside Ha-chan--?

Opting for cup noodles because the food costs are high, my god that's a typical broke college student attitude. They're so me fr ajshdbsdfjfks

Oh right… they were supposed to have a hotpot but Deustmast appeared… okay, guess I will cry for a bit then ;v;

Ooh, Sapphire again. Looks nice, why do I have a feeling it was a bit short? Oh well, at least Miracle and Magical are still pretty in their forms <33

Despite the hotpot is also for Chikurun, I love how he went ahead just to give the girls the time for themselves to enjoy the hotpot they were supposed to have back as kids.

Lmao, Riko and Ha-chan going to the window due to heat while Mirai and Mofurun just sat there like it was nothing.

Oh wait, that's not the ending--?? Holy shit--!!??

I never expected to get a footage from ep 50 as a literal flashback. Though, it let us see how the animation and artstyle had improved over the years which is really nice imo. We even see the added scene which makes it even more prominent. The vibrancy and cleaner lines of the new animation looks pleasing for the eye. <33

Speaking of flashbacks, Riko has been more active in recalling the past rather than getting a vision see it. From thinking back to the hotpot to working her way to research the two worlds, all of them are active recalls. I do wonder what would that mean for her in the future but we'll see. Next is Ha-chan's, it's funny how Chronosto tried to trap Ha-chan only for it to backfire on him. Ha-chan is not specifically tied to any past because she tends to live in the moment and looks at life in a positive note in general. While both Riko and Hi-chan managed to do things on such a large scale, Mirai was unable to do any that and that has been going on for five years. Knowing her, it would make sense if she would feel a bit of frustration and helplessness for not being able to help much in connecting the two worlds back which probably that's the reason why she goes as Mahou Girl as a way to make up for it, I think.

All in all, this episode is good to let everyone relax for a bit because the next one is surely going from 0 to 100 once again ashdbjsfgkafps

Watching MahoPre Mirai Days Ep 7

Aight, things have been somewhat calm, but that doesn't mean everything's okay. Hi-chan's still gone and a new enemy appears and it's worst than their previous enemies. Man, precures can't have a break, can they?

Thoughts:

I really like when many people are aware of strange things happening in their place and trying to find out how did the cause. It has a more realistic vibes and shows the severity of the situation imo. Though, do you think they would addressed to the strange things that happened five years ago during the time where the monsters made a public appearance to the public?

Ha-chan's wearing Mirai's outfit looks good on her.

I absolutely love the role-reversal where Riko is the one now encouraging Mirai, as it reflects back to the original where Mirai is the one looking out for Riko. It really shows how much they have influenced each other. I live for this moment. My MiraRiko side has been fed once again. Thank you very much, writers!! <33

Man, I love Riko's growth. From a failing her magic lessons to becoming a teacher who wanted to let everyone know about the excitement of magic. She had come so far.

The sudden funny moment of everyone commenting Chronosto's "wan" caught me off guard, even more so when it reacted defensively lmao

If I had a nickle every time an enemy trying to persuade Miracle about the past, I'd had two nickles-- Tho, seriously, this is getting concerning cause it making it look like Mirai is bound to fall to the enemy's hands sooner or later

Kudos to Ha-chan helping Miracle and Souta to snap out of it

Oh, hi Chikurun

Mirai and Riko's visions are getting more and more frequent which kinda concerns me now. Though, now looking back, I noticed a bit of contrast in their visions of the past. Riko's visions tends to leave in a more positive note than Mirai's. It's a bit ironic as we all know Mirai's name literally means "future" yet she is the one who is more stuck to the past. Well... understandable, but it's not healthy to stay in the past. But I'm sure Mirai (and maybe Airu if they plan to redeem him) will learn that soon (after she get her angsty moment and maybe some MiraRiko heartfelt conversation, ahem ahem).

Am I right to assume that Airu failed his goal of travelling back to the past using Chronosto's power and just got played by it? From what I'm understanding it right, Chronosto just trapped people and give them the illusion that they went back to the past. Though I have to admit, Chronosto is a terrifying villain. Because compared to other villains in precure who used people to make monsters, Chronosto also used them as a food source of sorts, consuming their time energy, just like the Weeping Angels, except that it doesn't really send the victims to the past but rather just trapped it in the form of a stone statue (note: i do not watch Doctor Who but I happened to stumble the angels while I was scrolling down on youtube lol).

We're now midway and it only just got worse cause it's now escalated from 100 to 1000 quickly halp-- The stakes are getting too high

I have to give kudos to Mirai and Riko for trying to prevent the future from happening. However, Airu is more knowledgeable and have more advantage over them. Ever since the first ep, he is always one step ahead of them. Which is why he is uncharacteristically fired up the whole time when he fought with the Cures cuz he knows he will get what he wanted at the end... at least, that's what I like to think it looks like? Cause dude just got blasted by a beam and turn akin to a small statue of his mother's wand. Can you even call that a success? 'v';

Though, did yall noticed how during Airu's dialouge about the future, it was strangely focusing on Mirai? Like, they could have just focus on both of them but no, it was only on Mirai. It's clear that between the two, Mirai is the one who is more affected. Her greatest weakness is separations (and goodbyes). I mean, how many time's she's been forced to be separated from her loved ones? Makes me wonder if Airu knew about this so that's why he interacts with her. Because he knew Mirai is the same as him, both of them have experience grief when they lost their loved ones (well, Mirai's loved ones are still alive but you get what I mean) and both of them longed for a past they could never experience again in the present. Maybe he needs someone who could relate to him and Mirai might be the best one there is, I think. For all we know, he could try and persuade her or smth..... Nah, that would be impossible--

On the other hand, Riko is more composed between the two. Maybe, that's why Airu doesn't focus much on her from the previous episodes? But that doesn't mean she's not affected, as seen with her expression when she heard Gustav's planning to retire and Mirai's grandma saying she's getting older. Though, from what I've been observing her so far, she, more or less, had been able to move forward. But the lingering axiety is somewhat there but she's hiding it very well.

All in all, these guys probably need therapy my god--

Another past and it's within the timeskip showing Riko's first class as a teacher, which was ironically the kettle lesson ep 5. You can definitely see how far Riko is achieving her dream, good for her <3

*Circuit breaker tripped in new apartment* -> *cues going back to the parents' house* That was so honestly real and I love how awkward Mirai and Riko look while Hi-chan is happily eating away XD

This is the first time Mirai's vision lead her true, even Airu is surprised to see her though he did managed to get the situation back to his control. But, even then, I would say that was a progress for Mirai.

Okay, the book Airu is reading is probably important-- OKAY, WHY DO YOU HAVE THE SMARTBOOK!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO HA-CHAN-

This probably the first time I've seen an interrupted Precure transformation and no fight scenes to boot. It was a nice change of pace imo.

I just realized this is probably the first time RIko get the vision of the future cuz so far, all of her visions are just memories of the past

You know, this is the first time we've seen how Airu's daily life going so far (ignoring his agenda for now). We saw how it switched from the Mirai to him, multiple times. It shows how it his life contrasts to Mirai's. Mirai has everyone while Airu is alone, except for his dog. It is most likely will be significant later on, but we'll see. Though, seeing his daily life, somehow makes me think that Airu is probably not the real villain of this series.

This episode is deeply emphasizing that everyone is aging and we can see both Mirai and Riko are aware of this and felt anxious about it (Damn, have to say the writers really knows their audience cause I'm being attacked and I don't like this at all--). I think what also adds to the anxiousness is that they have been separated for five years, which ultimately made them aware of the times they have missed. These two still dwell on the past (especially, Mirai) due to not having a proper closure to it.

Now, I'm confused, so you're saying that Airu didn't give the power to see the past and future to Mirai and Riko? Then what was that beam of light in ep 1? I did thought that was the cause for the visions of the past and future. If that's not the case, then where did they get it? Does Rapapa have time magic? I do know is that Muhou is capable of time magic, based from what I've understand in MahoPre novel. But I don't recall of Rapapa's...

Aight, heavy thoughts aside, Mirai and Riko are now living together with their kid, hooray!! We are winning guys <33

Ep 4 and at this point, Airu is slowly joining to my rank of villains that I should watch out for cause the bastard is really good at manipulation and being vague that it somehow reminds me of Otto.

I have to say, I really don't like bratty characters, especially the ones that threw a wild tantrum when they don't get what they want. Which is why I sometimes find myself a bit worried that kind of attitude would cloud my judgement for Hi-chan (which had this going on since ep 2). But the kid shine through and this episode helps me see her in a good light. Safe to say, she's one of the kids I like.

Furthermore, we can see how Mirai and Riko struggled to take care of Hi-chan. It's quite an experience, really. You can probably thought they can handle Hi-chan because they have prior experience with Ha-chan. But the thing is that Hi-chan is different from Ha-chan. You can tell how far their personalities are. Not to mention, Hi-chan's growth is too fast compared to Ha-chan (not saying this because this series only has 12 eps). Unlike Ha-chan who takes her time to grow up (which incidentally helps Mirai and Riko develop throughout the series), Hi-chan's is faster which throws the two off and don't know how to handle it along with her stubborn personality. (This is how I read it, idk how to explain it further sjdjwjdjjwo)

I actually have mixed thoughts about Riko's father. Like, I get that your worried about your daughter and I completely understand that. However, why do you think it's a fucking good idea to just silently watch them like some stalker, dude!? You could have just like, I dunno, message your daughter, telling her you will coming over or something to check on her? What really annoys me is that he didn't reveal himself when Riko noticed his presence and instead force her to take a wild goose chase. Idk, it didn't really sit right for me.

But, what really interest me is the preview of ep 5. Like, yall searching for an apartment? Is this what my MiraRiko side is finally waiting for? Are we expecting a wedding soon- :3
