Gonna start making a few posts of fortnite hcs starting with Monatgue Huge block of backstory:

Hermes takes interest in a mortal woman and ends up fathering another child, that child being Montague. Hermes has always loved his children and wanted to raise Montague himself, unfortunately Zeus had recently placed rules that prevented Hermes from even getting to mingle with the other mortals. The messenger god was even tasked with many jobs that kept him far too busy. He still manages to check on Montague in secret but not often enough for Montague to even realize he was there. When it comes to his mother, Montague was heavily neglected. He learned to take care of himself at a very young age, at thirteen he had gained two half-sisters to also look after. One of his sisters, who I’ve named Babette, was sickly. Montague was always a worry wart over Babette, he’d been at her side often. His other sister, Cynthia, loved stuffed toys. Montague had learned how to sew teddy bears just for her. On his sixteenth birthday, he wanted to include his mother. She seemed to actually love her daughters, maybe she could finally be a mother to him as well. He was wrong. Montague’s mother had injured him, leaving two scars that would never fade. He was lucky to not have lost the eye. Montague will never enjoy his birthday again. Growing up, it was clear that Montague was a kleptomaniac. Gaining him the notorious title of being a thief. He seemed to love paintings the most. This is what led him to his amulet, he’d overheard rumors about a gorgeous diamond and wanted to put his skills to the test. Seeing it up close, it called to him. He swears that it still talks to him sometimes, that the diamond was his heart. It belonged to him and only him.

When the diamonds had first encased Montague’s body, he freaked out. He looked like a monster! How was he supposed to walk around like this? After calming, he realized he could control the diamonds. As long as he focused and kept his emotions down, he could do whatever he wanted with them. He used this fact to get richer, eventually buying his ever so famous hotel.

Eventually, Montague stopped aging. His sisters continued to get older, so he had to leave them behind. They were the last two people to truly care about him for hundreds of years, that was until he met Valeria.

Montague had created The Society, watched as families grew and as some left. Nisha’s family had always been the most loyal. He had watched Nisha grow to be the next heir, her brother forced to be the protector. Perhaps that's why Nisha hated him, the way Montague had allowed her brother to miss out on a childhood.

When Valeria came around, she was already grown with a kid sister (Hope). She immediately became good friends with Montague. They even dated until Valeria concluded that she was actually a lesbian. Montague didn’t hold a grudge over it, after all he was starving for anyone to be friendly with him.

As per family curse and constant sleeping around, Montague has an accidental child, the other parent is unknown to him. He named this child after himself, his one and only son. He never wanted his son to feel neglected like he was. So when work piled, it was unintentional that they began to see each other less.

It was very sudden when his son ran away, no note and everything left behind. (This son is Bones, who ran away to avoid the Society and Underground’s conflict)

There was some point that he had met Midas, and the two absolutely hated each other. Anytime those two were seen together, it’d been a big fight. Despite this, they had something homoerotic on the occasion. Montague didn’t truly understand his love for Midas until the man of gold had died, whisked away to the underworld.

Montague falls into grief from losing both his son and lover, eventually leading him into giving Valeria most of the control he had of The Society. Other random tidbits:

He has a very large sweet tooth, but a very weak stomach. So his stomach hurts very often.

Afraid of water, almost drowned as a child.

 A clean freak and perfectionist.

Occasionally plays piano in his free time.

His favorite music genre is classical.

Not a cat person, prefers birds as a pet.

I’d like to introduce to you the midagues test thbe baby. For fun I made them a fan kid who technically isn’t one, he was never even a child in the first place.

This is Laurent, a clone of both Midas and Montague. No one knows what lab he came from as it blew up. His most vivid memory there was having his arms replaced for mechanical ones, which wasn’t for any experment reasons. The nerves in his arms just didn’t work.

Psychically he’s twenty but he’s actually one year old. It leaves him curious and naive about all things. (but don’t think that means he’s stupid, he’s actually highly intelligent)

He doesn’t get to meet Midas or Montague for a long while even after leaving his home lab. (They don’t even know he exists either.) He wanders the outside world for a minute before being picked up by Megalo Don as he just missed the whole greek gods situation. Megalo Don treats him like a son mostly but he does drop Laurent off to live with Scarr.

(I do have a small oneshot my friend made for me of Montague finding him but it won’t let me link rn)
